East Coast Footbag Championships 2005

Ladies and Gents,

We are pleased to announce the 22nd annual East Coast Footbag Championships, June 11-12, 2005, at Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex, in Laurel, MD. This is the 3rd longest running tournament in footbag history.
Events will include: singles freestyle routines amatuer and professional, 30 sec. shred, sick trick, singles and doubles footbag net amatuer and professional, as well as plenty of circle shred and 4 square throughout the weekend.
There will be a players party/evening shred at the new messy temple, and we are looking into the possibility of a public show on saturday night featuring performances by Peter Irish, and Vince Bradley's band Boxcar Collision.
Information regarding host hotel, schedule, ect, will be posted on footbag.org shortly, and keep an eye on this thread for updates.
Early thanks for generous cash sponsorship from Jonathan Schneider (go to his tournament!), and product from Lonn Irish. Many more sponsors to come.

yeah, there will be shirts and footbags for sale. hopefully i'll have a little batch of Lonn bags to sell, plus we hope to be printing 2 t shirts for the event.

Hmm, I really want a go but I don't ave a ride or crash space. If anyone thinks they will be going through NY at all or if anyone has crash sace in Maryland, let me know. I could possibl take a bus down if I had crash space.

we'll have players there representing Nash Vegas. i'm curious to know is there is a time schedule posted for the events yet? the event listing page on footbag.org only says that the registration is Friday night at the Best Western.

Registration for the event is at the Best Western host hotel (info on footbag.org events)on Friday evening, starting at 5 pm till whenever. We'll have a large room with shred space, and if you would like to compete you must come to the hotel on fri night to register. If you cant make it please have someone else register for you. We'll have all the schedules for the tournament and all other info you need, plus t shirts, ect. On Sat, net will start around 8-9 am and freestyle will start at 1pm. Sunday freestyle is from 2-4 pm and then net finals afterward followed by awards ceremony.

Turnout should be good....wer'e especially excited because Shults and Emmanuel Bouchard will be here for net. Shults just beat Emmanuel at the Green Cup...it was Emmanuel's first loss in a tournament in over 30 straight tournaments. So look forward to an intense rematch! Also, they will be playing together in doubles net. Shred and 4 square will be full on as well. Come challenge newly crowned hall of famer Steve Goldberg on the 4 square court this weekend!
Also, the Discovery Channel will be here on Sunday to film the event.
