I couldn't afford car insurance AND college at the same time, and figured I wouldn't need it my first year in college anyways, which I didn't. And for about 6 months I couldn't legally drive because I tore my ACL. So that was about a year and a half ago or something.

EDIT: I got my permit when I was 15, right after finishing Drivers Ed. But then it EXPIRED and I had to *gasp* renew my permit so I could apply for a loan! Ha!

yeah...renewing you permit sucks...i didnt want to have to do that myself. i cant pay for insurance either, so for now i cant drive any car anywhere for awhile, but i would rather just have my license over and done with.

It's been about 7 years since I passed Driver's Ed...still no license...I still use my original Learner's as photo ID, though...I guess I still look the same. People always think I'm still in highschool, when I should already have my second degree next year.

I'm going to go make pie.
Peach and...hmm...either pumpkin or blueberry. I will consult with my family!
I've been commissioned to bake before. I love baking. Everyone says I make the best cookies ever. My girlfriend's mom always says that I should market my recipe, or something. I wonder if it is a profitable career for the average person. Anyone know?

I'm teaching myself anatomy. it is a BLAST. I have learned VERY few practical things in Fine Arts, and if there was one thing I hoped, thought and wanted to learn from this degree it was anatomy. I keep thinking of proposing a course to the faculty -- I think it should be fundamental and manditory like 100 years ago (although "art" is such an vastly encompassing practice these days). I would say 80% of "artists" don't know a thing about anatomy. It's AMAZING how fast and how well you can learn something when you teach yourself and have a real drive and desire to learn! I seriously did not absorb much this past season at school, and overall I really enjoyed the year. I am in summer session now and I have one of the most amazing human beings I have ever met as a professor, but I don't think I will retain much of what I've learned even within a few months.

It's windy outside and it sounds like it's raining -- it may be.

I'm sure you could sell pies on Ebay, just say it was baked by someone famous.

the only problem with that is people arent likely to do searches on ebay for 'pie' or 'pies' you would have to advertise or something.

I read from the paper that someone's selling at eBay a bottle of air that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have probably been breathing. :D The price is already in tens of thousands, people really are stupid.

One thing has lately been wondering be. You know the actress Parminder Nagra from ER (as Neela Rasgotra in the series)? So: I've been thinking how her name is pronounced. Is it like Par-mine-der, like those would be pronounced separately, or is it Par-mean-der (obviously that "mean" part is shorter).
I have no idea why I'm thinking these things, ER isn't my favorite programme (they all mate with each other) and the actress I dislike even more.

Picture?

Some car alarm went off a bit ago for like, forever. BLAH! I went to bed early, but now I'm up 'cause I can't sleep. it's 3:45

I realize we don't have many neat little smiley faces on our forum. The "art" forum I'm on, www.conceptart.org , has, like...hundreds. It's so fun! I used this whacky smiley that is like a scorpion with a million eyes. Let me see if I can link some:
Image (and by a million eyes I mean 3)
Image (Oh I guess this one goes better with the brown background of the other forum. this one is used a lot there for some reason :D)

I guess that's pretty geeky of me. But it's cool. It wouldn't let me link to the little popup window where you can choose from all of them, but there are 141. Do you have to pay for this sort of thing?

I'm pretty sure we could upload most of those if we wanted to, considering the footbag icon was recently uploaded. Cool find.
