program to cut music

good evening!!

i really (still haven't got a routine for gfo) need a program i can download for free to cut a song with. also, it should be easy. i just need to make a cut at 1:30.

I use dss dj - which is a virtual turn table set. I don't know if it's the easiest program to do what you want but you can use it for lots of other stuff too (ie. DJing

)

you can download it at www.myxoft.com/index.html. Also my version is registered so if you send me a message I can give you the details - I think there are some restrictions if it's not (and it costs like $50 or something - I don't know, I didn't pay for it

)

Actually my mum did for a birthday present - which although being one of the only presents I've actually got from my family that was related to something I'm into - a bit of a waste of money since I'm sure I could have found a pirated version pretty easily...

Or if you know how to "download" programs, Adobe Audition or Cakewalk are some of the best programs for editing music.

now, due to the links you provided, i can cut that song, but can't burn it. like it doesn't work on my cd player, just on my computer. do you have any ideas how i can convert a wma or mp3 file to a winamp one? wahhh. i hate computers.

? Winamp can play both wma's and mp3's...

But if its in .wav format, or some other form of lossless, try File> Export, or something to that point.

Winamp should play, like, almost any audio file.
Have you ever burned something to a CD before? What program did you use? The same program can probably burn the song AS AN AUDIO TRACK ON A CD. Burning an audio CD is different than burning a data CD. Sorry for sounding stupid if you already knew this, but if you didn't it should help

even though i don't know much about computers, i can burn cds. i also know the difference between a data cd and an audio cd.
the problem is that i burn that cd, and it works fine on my computer. all programs can regonize it and play, but my cd player can't.

i use nero by the way, but tried another program as well. both didn't work. i think the other one didn't even let me burn the cd (as an audio one).
hmm. thanks a lot for the comments again. i think there's no chance though that i can cut that stupid song before thursday evening.

there should be no problem burning an mp3 as an audio cd with nero.
maybe you have to change the compression though? like, 41khz-48khz,
with at least 128kb/s stereo should do.

Also, maybe some CD players may not read some discs? Have you played burned discs on your player before? -- I think I have this problem with just SOME discs on my old stereo.

Yeah, most cd players can't play mp3 discs.

well. thanks a lot everybody.
the problem is solved.
my problem was that in the end i could burn the cd, but when i put it itno the cd player it didn't work. it said that there was a track on it, but it was just noise.
however. i wasted like 4 blank cds, but on the fith one it worked.
