Tonight I shred with Bob at the clinic for almost 2 hours, it was pretty damned fun. I don't remember hitting anything huge or new, but we worked on some different drills for fun. Also worked on hitting different moves and just holding it on the stall after we hit it. I think we were drilling more because we saw Jorden's new video where he set some new footbag records. I did like that video a lot, but I thought it was a big waste of megabytes and time showing us his atw's and illusions, but most everything else was sweet as hell. My 2 footbag goals I set, are work on torques more so I have control of them. Hit Torque x 4 on both sides. And hit ducking mirage > diving pixie repeat. Oh, i'm still workin on hitting flip fairy torque. All this torque'ing stuff is cause of Mirken, I told him I'd have them down by my visit to Chitown. So I better atleast get better at them, cause currently I'm really inconsistent with them.
Today, I took the initiative with my roomy and got a Sams club membership card and bought a 14' trampoline. So this weekend I'm throwing a huge hole digging party, cause we're gonna set the trampoline level to the ground. If you were still on the edge of deciding to come to the WV Jam, there is one more reason now, the Player's Party shall include an in-ground trampoline !!!! Come on, who else does that shit ?!?

Glad to hear you are well.
Do you know that Sam's Club is owned by Walmart? Tisk tisk, John. Walmart is an evil corporation that destroys small business, is horrible to the companies it buys from, and is very bad to it's employees- especially female employees. But trampolines are SO much fun. You should buy a big tent, too. What? I’m serious.

*laughs to self* Moxie, that was the most confusing post, ever. Just make a special trip over, you can sleep on the trampoline if you want, but I doubt I'll buy one of those tents to put over it, but I have thought about it. Saturday is the big hole diggin party. Bring your shovels !

Had an average session tonight with Bobby Gee. Played at the clinic for a bit and I couldn't really hit any long strings or any combos I wanted. I'm just glad I got out there and shred, cause it was fun. My current goals are still torque > torque both sides, and flip fairy torque. I want stronger torques, but I seem to have some trouble getting them dialed, or atleast close to it. I also want to hit ducking mirage > diving pixie repeat without any problems, yet I still haven't hit it. It shows that I've got plenty of room for improvement, and I tend to do so.
On the plus side, all flip toe sets are a lot better than before. I can duck my flip pixie without much problem, I can duck my flip fairy with some good effort, and my flip atomic has shaped up to where it doesn't look flip. Quantums though, are still a drain on my legs, and difficult. I attempted stepping ducking tonight, but to no prevail. I didn't even dex the damn thing, it seems like when I concentrate so much for a new move that starts on clipper set, I just drop the clipper. If I ever do duck my stepping set, it will be very clean, but until then they will just keep hitting the bottom of my thigh if I try to duck the set.
I'm completely pumped to visit Chicago and the whole CIC. I can't wait to meet my Wisconsin girl and just have a great f'n weekend. On the opposite side of excitement, my one week off of school is over, and I'll be starting college again fulltime Monday -___- . BUT ! 2 months from now , will be WV JAM, and I'm over the top excited about that.

Well, the hole has begun. Holy shit was it a battle. I'll post some pictures below, the war is still being fought. The first Saturday as the sun was high, great warriors from all over parkersburg showed up and brought their mightiest shovels that only a master digger could possibly possess. The first foot was a slow progression to the depths of the earth as roots from the general tree denied us of an easy entry point. We called upon backup and one by one, our numbers grew mightier. Such tactics and ferocity can only come from this dead end street where myths are told of such stupidity.

I won't be able to stay here to see what happens on Saturday, but trust me, if that hole isn't dug by the time I'm back, I shall work every weekday until there is a 4 foot deep hole 15 feet in diameter.
Edit : Chitown this weekend bitches.

I'm starting to get anxious to play again. I can tell that I'm almost ready. I can stand on my bad leg in clipper position and not feel anything. Doing it repeatedly is another story, but it's healing well. My boss has been working with me to get it better. He has been doing patella mobilizations on me and giving me exercise programs to build strength in my quadriceps and hips.
Actually, I have two other(real) reasons I want to start playing.
1. I'm going to Northwest Jam in Portland.
2. I ordered these fine pieces of equipment:

I always play terribly after coming off an injury. I'm prepared this time not to be extremely critical of my game for a few weeks. We'll see how long that lasts.

Aiieee yieaaah. I had the most excellent weekend ! I'll just go day by day so I don't really miss anything.
Friday : Woke up at 5:30 am, left around 6:20 AM. I actually woke up within minutes of my alarm, which was very odd for me. Usually I take about 30 minutes - 1 hour to get out of bed, I'm just not a morning person. It's very rare that I just do a roadtrip without any hitches, so I'll just inform you all of my wonderful luck.
First off, I wasn't sure if I missed an exit, so I thought I should pull off onto one of the exits to double check the map. LUCKY ME, i take the one exit that won't let me back on to 90/94 W so I have to follow some detour. So I follow this damned detour for about 20 minutes, and it leads me to a 4-way stop sign. At that 4-way, it says...."End of detour" , and believe me, I sure as fuck wasn't on an interstate, they put me next to a farm , some fields, and a house...So I had to drive all the way back, and just go back on 90/94 E to take another exit and turn around.
Once I got goin, I get near chicago, and there was some thick thick thick traffic. I just filled my tank up and I seriously traveled less than 6 miles in 30 minutes. We were going so damned slow, and it was like that for the last 2 hours in the car. I am never moving into a big city, because of shit like that. I love taking vacations to visit them, but NO WAY i'm moving into one of those traffic devouring hell holes !
So, one of my main reasons to go to Chicago was to meet this girl I've been talking to online / phone for the past ohhhh...4-5 years. Well, I got a nice hotel, and made some plans to do things with her on Friday / Sat. , and then shred with CiC on Sunday. Thank goodness I have the best luck with girls, I end up paying for a nice hotel, sleeping by myself, and I still haven't heard from her. I hope she's ok, but I just get this overwhelming feeling that I've been screwed and left aside. She was supposed to help out with the hotel costs, and other stuff, but I'm prett sure that it's all left in the past. Luckily though, I don't let things of this nature get to me too much. I shall figure out what happened, logically, and move on. Everything happens for a reason, and that reason must have over-ruled other things at the time.
So, since there was no Gina in the picture, I called Zeke and told him I was up for anything Friday/Saturday/ and Sunday. Pretty much I shred pretty hard everyday.
Friday, we all met up at the outdoor roller hockey place at some park near Tom's house. I met Kamil, Tom, Zeke, Jon, and that one guy that came with Zeke. Pretty fun session with them all, they're a pretty diverse crew and I enjoyed every minute I had with them. Kamil had a bum knee and it bothered him to where he couldn't really play. Jon has a real lanky style, but it comes straight from his body type, lanky. Although I say it somewhat negatively, he still has his own unique style on some things that I do like. I really like his fairy dragonfly kick > ducking butterfly. It looks pretty f'n cool. Jon threw me off a bit with his constant stories, I had no idea what he was gonna say next. I think it was just the whole initial meeting me thing, so he had a lot to say. He owns a sweet motorcycle, so he gets props from me. Anybody that knows me, knows that I want one, real fuckin bad. He has I believe...a Suzuki SV 650 or something like that.
Zeke is a real cool guy, great personality, super friendly. He helped me get from place to place, if it weren't for him, I would have been stuck at my hotel by myself for too long. His style is somewhat like his build too, he's a bit shorter so some of his moves are a bit choppier with quick movements. He's got some quick movements and can do quantum sets, and some other good sets. It's always enjoyable watching all the CIC play cause they all have really different styles. I was super impressed by Tom. He reminds me soooo much of Nick Laroche. His body type is the same as Nicks, he has long hair like Nick, and his style is just like his too. I see a lot of potential in his game, he is very very smooth and enjoyable to watch. String length is pretty short, but he has some nice moves up his sleeve. When he does hit those moves, they look so nice !!!
Sat. I went to Taste of Chicago and boy was it busy there. We all shred there next to some tent with people all around us. It was shades, but there were some hidieous cracks on the sidewalk that scared me a bit. It was nice shredding there with so many passerby's. There were your random 'you gotta play soccer man, right?' 'oooh shit, ooh shiiiit, look at that shiiiit' , 'diiaaamn , you gotta be pro huh ?' So it was pretty fun interacting with all of that, the bad part was that it got kinda to snug and people would just be all in our shit. Someone would try to shred, but there was a lot of distractions close by. I wasn't very consistant at all, but hey, that's what i'm working on. I got to play with Eric Reile that day, super fun !!! He seems really on my level of shred, so it was fun playing with him. That and he kicks ass, he's my hero, aiiiee yiaaah.
I also met up with Shawn Boyle, he was a lot better than I expected. I usually kinda just assess these things real quick from body type and how long they've been playin. I don't think he's been playing very long but he had a lot of the basics down, and his pixie sets were pretty good, BOTH SIDES !!! That always makes me smile when I see noobs both siding shit, it's a good sign. His ducks were pretty awkward, but I'm sure with his progression, he'll get them down. He could even duck his pixie sets, impressive !
Sat. night, I partied hard, a bit too hard some may say. Eric got me into some kick ass party that was themed off 1970's. He got me this sweet purple suit, and these round purple glasses, I looked like a fuck beast ! Duley, another noob, came with us. I believe he lives with Tim or something like that, he's pretty good at kicking, and just starting out with freestyle. He too looked pretty hot in his suit, he was all shiny. I've got a couple pictures I'll be posting up later, but they're all of us prior to partying. I pretty much blacked out later the night, I believe Eric can fill in on what happened, cause he wasn't completely smashed.
Sunday, I woke up and stayed drunk till about 4 PM. I finally got myself to go to Taste, and kick some. Before I kicked, I bought a bunch of tickets and used them to sample out different foods that was everywhere. YUM ! This mind you , is my 3rd day of shred, and I just got done with a massive party. For some reason though, my legs weren't too bad, stiff and sore, but managable. Met up with some kickers, and shred. It was mainly Jon, Shawn, and myself shredding. Zeke played on and off. I totally skooled Eric, he could bearily do a toe stall that day... poor guy. I shred for a couple hours, and then decided to take off since I had to get to school in the morning.
THE DRIVE BACK !!!
Horrible, I picked this one gas station, and as I was gonna fill up, the gas attendant turned off all the pumps. His thick indian accent didn't help anything as he said "blah blah blah blah" over the intercom, I guess he was off day shift and waiting for the other person to fill in for night shift. So i had to wait for another 15 minutes to fill my car up. I'm pretty sure this is after I got lost finding my hotel at night. I got lost going everywhere coming back home. I drove till about 5:30 am realizing I wasn't gonna make it to class on time, so I took a couple naps because about every 30 sec. I would fall asleep driving. I thought that I better rest my eyes, or I'd be dead. So I pretty much drove all night and morning and went straight to class feeling like a winner at 1 PM.... then went to work, and now I'm here....wow that was a long entry.
End - Thank you all CIC, you were a great bunch to meet. I hope some of you can make the trip down here to the WV Jam. I know I told them that atleast 10 times, but they'd make it that much better, ya know ???

Whats up mahood,
so far my favorite thing about this sport is how much everyones freestyle game varies and i really enjoyed seeing you do some different unique moves that i have never seen. Im still new at all of this so i cant really recall wich ones caught my eye but i was generally impressed with your smooth flowing style.
That was what i really noticed about you is that every movement and trick seemed to be at the same speed and same set height. It definately a quality that i lack big time. I know im doing pretty good learning bsos and all that good stuff but nothing feels that controled and smooth like yours seem to. all in time i guess
I really love road trips and would definately favor the idea of getting together some peeps and hit up all you guys in the WV.
glad to hear you enjoyed your stay in chicago.
peace

Great session tonight, felt real good. I woke up this morning watching that Phil Hack video, and I was pumped from the get go. I shred with Bob and Brad at the Belpre clinic. I just found out I'll be changing locations from Vienna to Belpre, so it's not a big deal. I like shredding and exercising there a lot better anyways.
My sets and rhythm were feeling strong today, I don't remember much I was hitting, but my sets just felt good ! Stepping sets were doing better than ever. Hit blender > stepping clipper, almost hit bedwetter, pdx eggbeater > legbeater, drifters were kicking ass, swirling stuff was on, just a good feeling shred, ya know ?? Smoke > blur > fairy op butter > blur > pixie (drop) , I wanted to repeat, but that was asking for a lot. I guess I need film to remember what I did.
Brad had knee pains about 20 minutes into shred. He hasn't played for a while so he was pretty rusty. It sounds wierd saying that cause he is so good, but he just couldn't play like normal cause his limits. Bob was playin pretty well, nice and solid. His flip osis is still different, he can't generate the same crank, so I think that is what produces a lot of flukes in his game. Spins, butters, duck sets, etc. Other than that, he had a lot of stuff that was 'on' . Good shred guys, GOOD SHRED !!
I'll get the Chitown pics up this weekend.
