Here is something pretty messed up about Canada; get this:
"Lieutenant" is pronounced "leff-TEN-ent".
I think we have a few other words like this...is it the same in the U.K.?

I made the most delicious pizza from scatch today. I have decided to bake something new and different at least once a week. I think next week may be croissants from scratch (or doughnuts, or maybe danishes...though I will need filling ingredients for that). I need a challenge. I also have a cheese cake in the oven right now -- this is going to be good. It's sooooo creamy!!!!

Oh and I discovered the secret to the BEST pie crust! After you mix it so that all the flour is JUST in the ball you COMPLETELY stop mixing. Place it on the floured counter and roll it without further mixing -- it will be SOOO flakey and will cling to the rolling pin in strips as you try to roll it -- AMAZING! I've only made pie three times so far (2 pies each time), but I find I mix it less and less each time. Last time was blueberry and pumpkin -- the blueberry was really good, but I had the filling from a can. The pumpkin I made from real pumpkin.

We're considering that I open a bakery instead of becoming a teacher... That would be so much fun.

I took my dog to visit my parents, today.
She's a funny dog. She hates the getting hosed, or having water tipped over her, but she loves swimming in my parents dam. She'll run all the way down the back of their property and just dive into the water.
But if you touch the hose... she's jumping the fence to get out.

We rescued her from the RSPCA around the end of December, and I think she was abused as a pup.

so funny story.

i was in an assembly in school (national honors society inductions...boring as anything) stitching my newest bag (its pictured in the new footbag thread...turned out great!) when suddenly a teacher grabs me from behind and yells at me to give her my scissors. i told her 'no way!' but eventually just gave em. then i was dragged out of the assembly by the school rent-a-cop who told me he should arrest me for having a weapon in school. of course i said:
1. clearly a school supply, not a weapon, and 99% of the teachers in the school have em
a.and loan them to students freely
2. anything could be considered a weapon (for those of you who read about the columbine-esque accusations...this is along the same lines) including shoes, clothes, books, desks, anything
3. i had a clear, purposeful intent for having the scissors. everyone saw what i was doing with them, i wasnt waving them around or threatening anyone with them, or hiding them in my bag
but, he said i would be suspended at least for this. and also he said a teacher saw me listening to an ipod earlier, and asked if i still had it, and confiscated that as well. told me i could get the scissors and ipod back if my parents came to claim them (isnt that a kick? get my parents to come in to claim a pair of fucken scissors?!?!) so i finally flipped out and started yelling and swearing at the cop, who threatened to arrest me for disorderly conduct. so i went back to class, until i was called to the office to collect my suspension hearing paperwork. i guess they realized they would have a hard time suspending me based just on the scissors, so all they said was 'offensive and abusive language towards a staff member'

just great.

yeah - how you react in situations like that is vital if you want to get punished or not. If you can stay calm and speak in a reasonable manner and explain yourself to the person you have a much better chance of convincing them and if you don't - take it to a higher level. As soon as you start yelling at a staff member you have lost and it doesn't matter if your arguement is right or not.

Same kinda thing happened with me back in school. Couldn't get suspended for the stupid shit they were trying to suspend me for so they used "insubordination" instead. I don't remember what the thing was, I just remember insubordination having nothing to do with what I did.

'xactly. i feel like once they got the idea in their head, they wanted to suspend me, and they only needed to come up with some kind of a reason.

I realized today that my belly button is really, really dirty. Now I'm trying to find stuff to use to clean it out. These things are useless....

Holy -- highschool rules are getting really intense: Are we 2 years old??? Scissors? What???? I guess it's different in the U.S.A. and U.S.A.ers are more prone to kill people with anything?? Haha.

I think a lot of people have chronic bellybutton stink. I think it might have something to do with how the umbilical cord is cut? (How easily it is for fungus to develop??)

I nap a lot.
Yesterday I napped until 9.
Just now I napped from about 1 until 8. I have so much reading to do for school, and my final is next week.

Did anyone ever watch Gargoyles? That was such a rad show. I downloaded the whole series a while back and I've been watching it slowly -- it's so amazing :D
