Ok, somebody needs to explain this stuff to me!

Well, ive been over to footbag.org to check out the moves list and all ive got to say is....what?

It goes on about dexes and all that stuff, surely theres just a move list, going from simple to difficult and go in order of first to learn or most vital etc.

Whats your typical newbie move? Whats all this add stuff? How do i learn them, considering theres nobody else who hacks within a 100 mile radius of me i gotta learn off here, are there videos?

I know its a hefty question, and ive looked for an FAQ but there either isnt one or i missed it.

There are more - but those are the important ones.

They're not completely up to date but they're still relevant and important to understand.

Regarding basic moves for n00bs:

I always start off with teaching toe stalls - that's where you delay the bag on your toe

. After that it depends on the person. Basically all the simple single dex toe moves come next - and inside stalls and clippers.

simple single dex toe moves are:

atw in
atw out
legover (switch over)
pickup (reverse legover)
mirage
illusion (reverse mirage)
pixie (ss mirage)
fairy (ss illusion)

Basically stall the bag on your foot and then go around it in either direction with either foot once and stall on one of your toes. Make sure to do both sides and practice lots. Freestyle footbag takes dedication and discipline to get good at. I am sure you are capable of being an amazing shredder if you try.

It's okay -- I had no idea what an around the world was when a better player than myself, when I was beginning, asked if I could hit it.

What can you hit? What is your consecutives record? (How many kicks in a row can you hit?) Can you do any stalls? I try to advise every beginner to learn toe, inside and outside kicks first, ON BOTH SIDES. After that you should learn toe, inside, outside and clipper STALLS. Then you can move on to the basic 2-add moves.

If you don't understand the terms or are having difficulty understanding something or even hitting a move just post here and I'm sure someone will be able to continue to help you

Watch beginner videos on those websites to learn how the moves work and how to move your legs in order to hit them. Every one of us spent hours practicing these basics, so don't feel alone if you can't do everything immediately

I couldn't hit some of those basic moves for over a year after beginning!

I have been learning how to freestyle the past 8 months any and all advice the internet or footbagers can give have been said to me very recently, im online alot so hit me up on Aol instant messanger or try the modified.ca live chat.

did you do a search for players in the area using www.footbag.org.

That was the first thing i did and it has lead to making new great freinds and of course people to help you learn to freestyle in person.

Oh and dont bother trying to learn everything just learn what things are as you are trying to hit the trick. trick names start to make more sense as you start learing how to actually do them.

Its not imposible but its harder

I would say its harder in the terms of motivation. Its nice to see people play in person who are significantly better than you. you watch them do the tricks and it shows you that yes normal people who practice hard can do amazing things. and it shows you the rythm and timing of tricks.

Alot of times i rush and move to aggresively for very simple relaxed moves like osis and clipper. it helps a great deal to see how efortless and relaxed certain tricks are when done properly.

dont give up on finding a player.

If it is true and you are all alone the next best thing is to see it as an oportunity start playing hard and start teaching others what you know start a scene make some new freinds and have fun. the situation can be an excuse to quit or motivation to start something great.

Although deep down inside of me i like being on my own. If i can travel quite a bit and learn as much as possible from other EURO players then i can pass on my knowledge around here.

It really baffles me that there's no scene in the UK. I can't figure out why that is. Try [email protected] too, he's a newer player who posted on the .ORG forum for a while, and talked to me a few times on MSN.

Im also just beginning, so if you want to have some noob talk feel free to pm me. Ive just been working on doing the toe stalls and inside stalls and clippers. Once you get bag control and flow tricks dont seem as insane!
