hehe you Australians are so out of it!
However, although there's no nuke missles in Aus (that I know of), we'd still be a target because we accomidate a number of US military facilities (radar stations and such).
So, yeah... the Kangaroos are fucked.
Hmm - possibly but ultimatly unlikely. The US have bases in the following countries:
Afghanistan
American Samoa
Antigua
Australia
Austria
Bahamas
Bahrain
Belgium
Bosnia
Britain
Bulgaria
Canada
Columbia
Cuba
Curacao
Denmark
Ecuador
Egypt
El Salvador
France
Germany
Greenland
Guam
Honduras
Iceland
Diego Garcia
Indonesia
Italy
Iraq
Japan
Johnston Atoll
South Korea
Kosovo
Kuwait
Kwajalein Atoll
Kygyzstan
Luxembourg
Netherlands
New Zealand/Aetearoa
Norway
Oman
Pakistan
Peru
Portugal
Puerto Rico
Portugal
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Singapore
Spain
St Helena
Tajikstan
Turkey
Uzbekistan
Virgin Islands
Wake Island.
(according to the New Internationalist 2002)
Australia is also a very big country with very few military targets - so you'd be effectively dropping a nuclear weapon in order to wipe out very little. The movie is also incorrect in saying that the US has the most nuclear weapons in the world - Russia is easily in first place - although the US figure is debatable (it's still less than Russia at the highest estimate) because the US has disabled a large number of nuclear weapons to abide with the START and other anti nuclear treaties but apparantly those disabled weapons can be put back together and launched with in 30 minutes - which makes it seem a lot like the US are just using loop holes rather than actually committing to nuclear disarmament.
But I still found it funny
