lol - try it bitch
So some stuff has been happening. My parents came down for the weekend. We had dinner together and the best friend of my brothers girlfriend came over for dinner that night too. To be honest I have had a crush on this girl - but this was really my first chance to spend anytime with her and she managed to end my crush pretty well (loud, annoying, too silly) - anyway it was still a fun night.
I drank two new beers: Dark Isle: Dark Lagar and Dark Isle: Stout.
The Dark Lagar was pretty cool - strong flavour but very interesting - pretty spicy and also fruity. I would have liked a bit more body to the beer and a better head - but it still rated with me. The Stout was like what a Mcdonalds stout would be like. Overpowering "roasted" barley (ie. burnt) flavour - very simple beer with not much to like about.
On Saturday I went down to the market and played footbag for the first time this week I think (actually I've played a couple of times this week but they consisted of me reading something on the forum - getting up and hitting a particular move or combo and then stopping). It rained the whole time which meant nobody else turned up to play. I was going to go home but I was so keen so I played anyway. It was still lots of fun - I didn't go hard but still played well. Hit Owheely VII into a run. Also hit Owheely 8 but unsealed (it's a toe>toe 7 add with no x dex...). Had a few kids come up who a I tried to teach stuff. One kid got toe stalls and inside stalls happening. Oh yeah - my bag completely died (Patris bag) - it was getting pretty close and probably playing in the rain made it worse but I'm sad anyway. I might repair it but probably I'll just make a new bag and school myself with that until it breaks in.
I'm feeling motivated to play more finally.
Oh yeah my football team got beaten but I was so proud of their effort - they nearly one against a team that has only lost one game this season and has won something like the last 26 home games - it was really close and they still played very well.
I don't think I've got anything else to add.
Oh yeah - at dinner the other night. My dad makes wine and we were drinking it.
Kimika (the girl I had a crush on): What kind of wine is this?
Tony (my step dad): Greengage wine...
Kimika: What's it made from?
It's rude to laugh at people's ignorance - but it's still funny

Glenn and I just made a video. It's not of footbag - but rather of Glenn's street performance show. Check it out
http://www.ausfootbag.org/uploads/SPT-web.wmv
like 30 or 40 mb and 5 min big approx.
I'd appreciate it if you don't spread it around too much as Glenn makes his living doing this and it's harder if people have seen the show.

Cheers
- it was a fun movie to make.
Today I went down to the market - had a kick. Didn't shred guiltless very much in the day - mainly just hit lots of long tiltless runs and drilled people. Got Jorden to hit atw for the first time! Also played with some little kids - one of which was autistic I think but we had a good time just kicking anyway. I was doing heaps of pixie muted clippers (same side and op side bsos almost every run) and also lots of spins and osis'.
A guy came up and told me he was doing a show and needed an audience. I told him I'd love to be part of his audience - thinking it was a street performance type show - with juggling or something. He was a great public speaker and drew a big crowd. Half way through he started talking about Jesus (having not done anything impressive but told some jokes) - so I turned around and started having a kick. 25 contacts (or so) later I looked up and most of the crowd were watching me instead of him
- I don't think he was too pleased
I felt a bit rude but I hate the way people like that mislead you into listening to them. They know that if they were straight forward with you and told you what the talk was about you wouldn't listen - so they trick you with jokes and not saying what it is they'll be talking about. I think it's dishonest.
Hmm not much else to report. Actually there was something but I forget what.

So of course the letter arrived on Monday as expected
. Alex got his mum to write be a card
- I don't know, I guess he felt nervous writing to a footbag star like myself
Anyway I thought it was pretty funny that Alex's mum wrote the card - and not Alex. What else does she do for you Alex? Tie your shoelaces?
Anyway the point of this post is that I make a large amount of references to movies on the forum - and I often feel that nobody at all realises. In fact I think in most cases the only person who would get the references is my brother.
But I'd like to put it to the test. If you notice a post that has been made either today or in the future by me that you think is a reference to some kind of pop culture or even political events - please post it here. (only if it's subtle - if I say "I like movies directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (spelling?)" then you don't need to mention it
There are none in this post.

lol or they were just itchy...
Anyway some things happened today.
First I had a drill session
and I'm planning one tomorrow as well!!
I only worked on drifters, whirls, osis, spinning and ducking (but didn't do very much spinning ducking). Hmm I made a point of not pushing myself and just doing reps of drills I knew I could hit at least one rep of. These are the ones I remember doing (But there were lots more)
drifter>whirl rep.
osis>drifter>butterfly rep
osis>drifter>ducking clip rep
osis>pdx whirl>drifter rep
Spinning clip>drifter rep
osis>blurry whirl>butterfly rep
I also spent a long time drilling spinning osis - which is definitly a great move for me to drill.
I randomly tried some other shit - like frantic stuff and sailing ducking but didn't hit anything of note. I did hit some 15 move runs for the coming comp - but I don't know if I'll use any of them - they certainly weren't anything amazing but I guess since it's in rounds it would be good to start with the not so good runs and then I'll make more of an impact with the impressive stuff.
Oh yeah my drifters were feeling really good - I was hitting tombstone really easily bsos. Also my stepping ducking was really good. I found that if I do the clipper a little further back to usual it's a lot easier to get the set out. I footed a couple of big moves but couldn't seal them.
Half way through the shred I noticed a spider on the ground. It was only small and I started playing with it. My brothers girlfriend pushed me out of the way and killed it
. I'm not big on animal rights and shit like that but I really hate seeing people kill animals (or arachnids or any kind of life) for no reason. I mean I was going to put it outside and I told her that but she wouldn't listen. It's so annoying how people can be so irrationally afraid of such a harmless creature. I really like spiders - actually I like all native animals - the only animals I dislike are introduced ones (which are fine in their natural habitat). Anyway I was pretty angry. It's on film too actually. Maybe I'll upload it to the net and you can all get a look at the murderer
Anyway then I had a shower and SHAVED!! I hadn't shaved in about 2 months so I had a full on beard - over an inch long. I should have taken a photo. Anyway now it's all gone and it feels so fucking good!! I think I won't grow another beard for a long time - they look cool but are annoying and girls mostly don't like them.
Anyway then I came online and checked my email. First email I read is from a guy from Nigeria who has set up a West Africa Footbag Association - which sounds awesome. I'm so stoked to hear that there is a scene in West Africa. I would really really love to visit Africa one day (actually to be honest I don't think there is anywhere I don't want to visit) and having footbaggers there is a great excuse to do it! Oh there are some footbaggers in South Africa too - which I'd also like to visit - but places like Nigeria seem much more exciting. Oh yeah and I could hunt down the people who send me spam and cut their throats
So yeah - quite an evening. Oh and Dave Nobel is the funniest person alive - it's official (I decided it so it must be
)
edit: oh yeah one more thing - it seems to me like most of the North Americans on this forum only comment on videos that are either from North America or of Vasek, Felix or Honza.
Just an observation.
