What you should do, David, is just stop thinking about everything. Let your mind wonder and instead, focus on all the smaller beauties of life: take a walk and feel the fresh air go deep into your lungs, soak in a bubble bath and let the heat take you over, pick up a book and get captivated in its journey - just do something that would take your mind off of everyday life. When you are finished, breathe deep and just think to yourself what it is that makes you happy and what you enjoy doing.

The answers to your questions may be easier (and closer to home) than what you might think. You just need to listen to them :)

Take care and take it easy man.

Yeah, don't stress man. Don't think about shit that bothers you so much. Everythig will be fine. Everything always turns out just fine if you don't stress the small things so much. About the college friends moving away. You'll get used to it. Think about all the military kids that move every three or four years. You'll always be sad when the best move away but there are still cool people all around. Just be happy.

DAMN, It's humid today!!!

Thanks for all the kind words, fellas. I was freaking out about money and personal relationships with people mostly. Oh and Josh, about the friends moving away thing, it's cool with normal friends, because a few aren't coming back this year, but these were guys I pledged my fraternity with, and to have three of them say they might leave is QUITE a sting, because that is basically my crew (there's seven of us total).

Anyways, I now have more than 5 bucks. I just got my paycheck (a day early too!) and now I am not totally freaking out about being BROKE. I think I will buy a Pipenbag soon, and the Sick 03 DVD. And Matt Cross's CD, and Sam's DVD preorder. That's... around 100 bucks. I will have to space out the time I do it all. I think I will do Matt's CD first because I told him I'd do it AGES ago. And while I'd really like to snatch up the Pipenbag NOW before he loses the colors I desperately want, I will wait a little while first. I guess I will see, but that is the stuff that is on my wishlist. Oh, and new insoles.

Anyways, I still haven't played footbag. I had a jam session last night and I think I will sleep when I go home today. Anyways, later.

Okay, quick update:

Today Luke, Gabe and I shredded at our old high school just for funsies. Gabe's back was out so he didn't hit much. We took some pics, I'll develop them and have them up later. We did most of the sesh with my BRAND NEW MOSHER BAG that I got today! It's so sweet, shredable right away.

Highlights:

Luke:
5 Move Tiltless Run
Some drill he was doing, Mirage>ATW>Pixie
Some weird fucked up osis from a set that was in front of him, kinda like a wrap

Me:
Magellan>Smear
Smear>Paste (Can't wait till I can link these two together, stylish!)
Record of 4 Smears before Luke ran up to me and scared the shit out of me by screaming, oh well
Guay>Dragonfly (Stylish!)

So yeah it was pretty frikkin' nice and we're gonna try to get together a lot more now that it's summer and we're all back in Raleigh.

Later.

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention that we saw this awesome squirrel without a tail, and I took a picture of it. That was pretty funny.

GAH! Second page disaster!

Tom - I love the bag!

Not much of an update. Saturday is a scheduled shred session with Luke and Gabe and possibly Manu and Chris. At our last shred session we took pictures and a few turned out really good, so I will put them in my blog for your viewing pleasure. I received Sick 03 and Matt Cross's CD in the mail yesterday. I have listened to the CD multiple times, and it is very very good. I have not watched the DVD yet because of lack of time, but I watched the video game section and it was phat. And I watched parts of Ken's, Kenny's, and Vasek's sections. Oh and Peter's. Very cool so far, I will watch it tonight, and bring it to the shred session on Saturday!

I definitely want a bag Nate!

I am testing out yahoopictures to see if I can link to pictures from that hosting service here. If not, I will find another imagehoster. No big deal. Here are two pics from GRASS, when Chris and I pulled to the side of the road and posed footbag-like in front of a huge valley.

Image
Chris about to dex a mirage.

Image
Me about to seal a ducking dragonfly, although my set was WAY too high!

Going to go watch Sick 03 now!

Fuck. Anyone know how to host yahoophotos on modified? I'm stumped, the image location doesn't end in .jpg.

Whoa, check it out, it's 3:38 am. Sorry to post this in your blog but you seem to be haveing the same prblems as me with this BBcode (or whatever the fuck it's called). I think we (I really) need to learn how to do that "posting (hosting) a pic" thing. I also need to know how to do that "check out this" (but the word "this" or whatever word you chose to be the link is the actual link to the site). I know (or at least think you know) how to do that at least. Please help.

P.S. My cell is cut off. I'm about to write you an e-mail with my house number for when you come down next weekend. It's got some newbie (to freestyle) prospects in it.

Okay I thought this was hilarious but I didn't want to post it in the videos section for fear it might be worthless.

What a horrible, horrible shred. I'm tired, my shorts were scrunching up, my balls itch, I started sweating after STRETCHING, my shoes are uncomfortable, my bag isn't stalling right, it's hot, I've got too much on my mind, and I'm dropping the easiest shit ever.

Sigh. I'll get 'em next time.

Today I had a shred with Luke for a few hours and we watched Sick 03 beforehand, which rocks. Sadly, I left my Tom bag in his room before we left to go downtown, since we had been playing with it while watching Sick 03. So I played with my FootFighter. It was fun. We even played HORSE (But "FOOTBAG"). He got a tiltless string of 9 8O . Totally cool. He kept trying ripwalk as a semi-joke. I hit some cool stuff. Like Dragonfly Stall (or whatever that is, I have no earthly idea). And... I put osis in a few runs. Still no whirl or drifter or dlo. Sometime though! I had a nice run right off the bat with about 10 or 11 contacts. I stretched thoroughly beforehand and then kicked 50, toe stalled 20. But I forgot to stretch afterwards. We played at our old school again, and this time we brought a stereo and found a plug and we shredded to tunes.

The funny part of the evening was when Luke goes "Hey, remember that shitty video we made in like, 2000 or 2001?" and I said "Yeah, didn't someone name it Alien Shred? What a CRAPPY name!" and he goes, "Dude that was YOU." And then we stared at each other for like 2 or 3 seconds until we both bursted out laughing. Good times.

I remembered this guy named David who was all into footbag and pretty damn good. I think I will get in contact with him for the next session, and see if he's interested. He's not really all that far away from me so I can probably pick him up, because I don't think he has his license yet.

Later.

Good stuff man, you're working on pretty much the same stuff I am. I'm moving to right outside Knoxville TN very soon, and I'm sure my wife and I will be going through NC to get to the beach. I'll let you know if I'll be in the area so we can shred.
Today is what you make it. So, like, don't screw up the recipe. ^^

Rock on, yeah Brian - hopefully we can meet up sometime, that would be awesome!

Anyways, I was just looking at the online comps, and I looked at my pool for Shred 15, and I was like, wait. I mean, I don't even know if I can DO 15 moves. I just don't want to look like a complete fool or something. I still want to go for it, but I just don't want everyone else's to be like insanely sweet and then mine be incredibly basic and "easy" even if its totally hard for me.

And as far as Sick 1 and 3, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my vids in on TIME. I've never worked with video on the computer, and I can't seem to find my camera. Hopefully it'll work out.

I wanted to mention about that run that I hit on Saturday... I warmed up and kicked a few and then went RIGHT into an 11 or 12 TILTESS run with FLIP butterfly and smear and dimwalk and all this sweet stuff. It was just totally awesome. I think the best part was flip butterfly. It totally surprised me. I threw it in there thinking I'd drop on it, but that I'd try it anyways. That got me super psyched for the session.

Anyways I read that guy David's blog online and he's actually been buying footbags (like, Abshires, not just sandmans!) and practicing on his own for a while. That's so phat! I think I will definitely get in contact with him and get him to come out to our weekly sessions. I'm very excited that NC now has a few players that show some promise and more importantly, INTEREST. And then there's also Josh, who I haven't met yet. Hopefully I'll get to meet him this weekend, but I'm not sure if my family will be able to let me go, because we only have 2 cars and one isn't really reliable to go out of the city, and that's the one that I would most likely use. So I'm not sure if I'll be able to go or not anymore.

But anyways, that was supposed to just be a quick update but I tend to ramble so...

NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo!!! See, I told you some unforseen obstacle would prevent you from coming. Oh well, by the time you get back to school I should have a job and be buying/have bought a car. I saw in the CIC blog that you thought the bottom of the bottle trick was nifty. If you come here this weekend I'll show you how to do it if you don't already know.

Yeah man, well it turns out one of the guys I was going to visit in Greenville this weekend had his aunt pass away so he has to go to a funeral service or something and so I'll probably just postpone the trip a week and come the next weekend, unless that's horribly bad timing or something. And I found out that if I DO use out "unreliable" car (which is the only one my parents will LET me use) and it breaks down in GVegas, Havelock, or at the beach, then I have to pay to get it TOWED. I really don't think that would happen but my dad is like certain that it will. I don't understand my parents and their car situation, but oh well. So hopefully I'll see you July 9th.

In other words I didn't shred last night because I was super tired and I just went to bed at like 8 PM. I can't find my dad's camera so I really don't know if I can enter the online competitions anymore and that's sad. Hopefully though! I guess I'll have to see.

Later.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that Erik's song "Nemo" that he mentioned in the "What are you listening to?" thread is highly addictive and I listened to it 33 times yesterday. And this is my 34th right now. I'm sure it'll be the highest played song on my iPod at the end of the day.

I got my Sick 1 and Sick 3 without too many problems! Everyone should compete so they'll have a chance at beating me! I'm pretty excited about the turnout of my footage. It's clearly intermediate stuff, but it seems pretty good to me. My first online video comp, here I come! I should be able to enter one, maybe two more, and then I will not have access to a camera anymore. Anyways, later!

Shred on.
