Do you count X-dex?

Talk about your big add moves and concepts in here.

Does x-dex help the ADD system reflect difficulty more accurately?

Yes it does, and I think it should be used in competition.

No it doesn`t, and I don`t think it should be used in competition

In general I think x-dex is good, but it shouldn`t be used in competition

I think x-dex is arbitrary, but helps make competition more diverse, and should be used.

Ok, adds do not rate overall difficulty, period.

Adds are a system that rate elements of difficulty.
Each of the following is what makes up the technical difficulty of a freestyle move. Each of these is equal to one Add (element of difficulty).
There's no measure for the overall difficulty, which is why they people came up with the x-adds and pdx. For now they make the adds system "better" so I use them.

We do need a change, but what would work? Hmmm.... (trails off in thought)

Amateurs practice until they can get it right.
Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

I'd say adds are more "components" of a trick, rather than
a measure of difficulty.

Today I footed terraging symposium mirage. (crispy style)

-- toe > same in > same in > (symp) op in > op toe --

This move is a perfect example of where adds DON'T work.
The symposium version of the move is much easier than
the non symposium version, simply because it takes more
time to pivot off of the set foot, rather than just leave it hanging
for the symp mirage at the end.

The four add version of the essentially the same trick
is more difficult than the three add version. Go figure ;).

Peace.

It's the little inconsistencies that make Adds so frustrating as a difficulty tool.

Ultimately I believe it is the movement of the body and the path of the bag, that will determine the difficulty of a trick.

It's gets worse as you link moves together. Cause even if you did have a PERFECT difficulty ranking per move, the links in and out of that move will also make the string of moves easier or harder depending on thier position in the string.

X-dex while a great idea, is only a band-aid fix to a permenant problem.
Good call. I agree with everything you said :)
