Aussie Champs Video

Post by Scott »

This is a video containing footage from the Australian Footbag Championships in February 2005.

It features Dylan Fry, Dan Ednie, Jeremy O'Wheel and a bunch of Aussie shredders.

P.S. I hope it works because I haven't uploaded a video before and it's a big file!

good film.

Right there is a great showing of what Australian footbag has to offer (asside from Dylan Fry, of course). Jeremy O'wheel, Dan Ednie, Jesse Malouf, Anthony Hagen, Scott K...

And the resteraunt footage... that made me laugh. Especially with those people still at their tables in the background. You cleared a good space and had some good shit busted out right there... on a full stomach?

I'm so disappointed that I missed seeing it all for real.

MAN! THANK YOU for making that video! It was such a nice taste of australian footbag, I have great respect for you guys over there, you got good numbers and a lot of skill!

Dan looks like a young Ryan! Its amazing, he is pretty good too!

Jeremy looks like a big monkey in that fishermans hat near the start! He has monkey legs too! Man I couldent follow his shuffle, it was too quick. I would say I really like Dan's style... but I like Jeremy's more.

Dylan looks pretty cool! Looks like a nice guy :) I don't like his style much though he looks very very good 8O.

The only thing I was missing on this video... was Lynton footage? I was a bit :( when it got to the end and there was none! I saw him walking around! He is defunatly one of my favourite players!

Oh well, maybe next time ;)

Cheers guys!

Hey thanks Nick! :D

Thanks Scott too. This video caught me completely by suprise. I kind of thought that we wouldn't be seeing any of the Aus champs footage apart from what had already come out so it was awesome to see. Excellent footage of everybody.

My god - the restaurant shred (I was kind of embarressed about that at the time but it was definitly cool on video!) - Do you have my amazing mouth trick on video too ;)

The night shred at St Kilda festival was great - good memories - such a fun circle (I was drunk too :P ) and getting to play with all those guys I don't play with much.

Oh the soundtrack to this vid is DOPE!! Scott has good taste in music and he shows it here. I only wish I got to play to the Pixies too ;) (But Nirvana are good too).

I love the footage - some great runs from everybody. Oh my first run was good - I can hit that combo first attempt in a run but couldn't hit it for the sick 3 at all that day - and then hit it first attmempt on finals day (blurry whirl>beta blur>sailing butter) - good to see it on video. I think that's the best footage of Dan I've seen too. Dylan's footage was good - but he can go a lot harder I think.

edit: did anybody else notice the "grudging props" that Dan gave me near the end - a sign of things to come? :P He was pissed off with me for not playing in the circle that he told me to play in...

I'm glad everyone liked it.

Jeremy thanks for reminding me about your mouth catch, I'll post that footage today. I hope there are no health inspectors watching.

Glad to see that my footage was put to some good use while i am unable to use it! Unfortunately there wasnt really that much really good stuff to work with but you have done well! Some of the footage isnt mine though, it must have been Jesse's or something (ie. the video from the Restaurant because i left that one early)

Nic: Unfortunately i didnt really get that much footage of Dylan in Melbourne, the best stuff i got was in Sydney which you can see on my Dylan Fry - Australian Tour 2005 video on ausfootbag.org
IMO he has really awesome smooth style and phat runs, i think this footage isnt really representative because its alot of competition and busking footage.

Blue sky and tall buildings. Yep, this must be an Aussie vid!

There was some totally amaaazing shred in this vid (cf. the one run in the restaurant).
Also those sailings make me wanna dust off mine. :P

It seems you guys attract loads of people, wherever you shred. Hurrah Australian scene! Not a single shredita tho

I'm glad to see someone other than an Aussie and a Kiwi posting a reply to this vid. There's some true Aussie talent here.

yeah this always happens. A video of a barely guiltless girl from north america gets double the posts of an Australian or NZ vid in 30 minutes... I think I'll probably just post my vids on the Aus footbag forum from now - it's not like it would make any difference.

Oh and this isn't me saying "please comment on this vid" - it's been up for for 4 days now - if you were going to comment you would have. bah

Jeremy, you're being a little stupid. I know I love watching footage of you and the other guys from Australia. I don't post on the Aussie forums (why would I?) so you'd be denying me access as well as a lot of other people, access, to videos if they wanted to see them! Of course, you could always just let me know on MSN if you have footage. I'm just saying...

But yeah I think it's kinda ridiculous the way people react to certain things on this forum. (Not you, agreeing with what you said actually.)

Later. I will watch when I go home!

Lol cmon man, don't be so negative about it :P, I have learned to embrace the fact nobody will watch my footage!

I'm just playin, you know more people have watched this than have posted, some videos people just feel less compeled to post about.

Obviously the australian crew is doing great and looking very strong! Perhaps more people make comments about female videos because girls are hard to come by in this sport and if we want this to continue to be a mixed gender sport we should encourage them.

I dunno, I loved that vid anyway, to be honest very little comes out of NZ these days, apart from the productions I have made/will be making its pretty slim over here :S. There is always the Auckland crew though ;)

Or perhaps people comment on female videos more because they're sexist and want to shag the girl in question. Surely the girls think "why did my video get more comments than one that has way better editing and better shred. Oh it's because I'm a girl - they're just patronising me..."
