Props on that record man! That was a very long and intimate sounding moment where the camera was caught between what seemed to be you and whoever was fliming's groins ;)

Now that is a scream that could make a wolverine purr!

paradon>barrage>double switch>repeat (1st time)
flip flurry (oh so hard!)

so as not to bring my blog to the top of the list, I just thought I'd drop an edit:
(day after the above:)

paradon>barrage>double switch>repeat (on several occasions)
dod>barrage>repeat (way harder for me)
symp. tapping symple blender (new 6)
other stuff i can't remember . . . short session tho.

A recent trick I hit:

http://www.mwhansen.org/footbag/Whip%20It.mp4

(if you laugh, my vid was a success . . . let me know)

also, recent sessions have brought me success. I sealed my first barroque today, and even though it was hot as HELL outside today, I managed to hit a cool 3 move combo: atomic swirl>torque>dyno. I was trying to hit that to a 4th move, but was off balance on 3 different occasions and bailed to avoid major faceplant.

You would think that footbag leads to injuries with knees, hips, and occasionally other lower extremities. However, Jeremy is not so lucky. Yesterday, after a session of hitting something impressive I'm sure, he turned into a 70 year old man. This uncommon state was due to a neck injury, prohibiting him from moving his right arm, smiling, or swallowing. He groaned and grunted like a stroke patient trying to communicate how intense the pain was. At first he refuse to remain immobile, this only caused him more agony to the point of yelling like a little girl. I finally convinced him to lie still in bed. He was such a good patient that I fashioned a neck brace out of one of my winter scarves. Jeremy looks good in pastels.

Thanks for the support, BJ.
My neck felt much better today than yesterday, so i decided to have a short shred. Mostly just skooling stepping clipper variations. It was dark, the surface was not flat, so that didnt last long. Then I decided to break the symp reverse whirl record. It is now 5 (was 3) 8). Im prepared to set it higher if needs be.

Tomorrow, I plan on waking up early and having an early session, and then a later evening session. I will try to break the tapping illusion record of 2, which shouldnt be too hard, and then the spinning outside stall record, which is 4.

EDIT:
Rather than bringing this blog to the top again, where it belongs 8O , I though i'd just note that I broke 1 world record this morning, spinning outside stalls. I hit 5 in a row, the old record was only 4. It was actually a pretty tough record to break, although Im sure that there are certain people on this forum with the ability to crush my measley 5.

Quick run-down:

105 degree weather= indoor shred until late afternoon.

Tried to film stuff, too much hassle, hit nothing great. Couldnt get past janiwalker> blurry whirl> blurry whirl. Next time maybe. Hit a flip flurry, my 4th ever, which was nice. Soon that move will be mine.

20 min later, outside session as it began to cool to 95 or so. Hit some cool stuff, not Dave Clavens cool, but cool nonetheless. Hit pdx torque bsos, but they were fairly ugly-really gotta clean that move up now that I can hit it.
Hit a Sick 3 for the online competition, 2 different ones actually, but ill use the better of the two in the comp.

Skooled blurrier a lot today, skooled matador on one side and ripped up the calf of my support leg. I almost managed to hit matador>janiwalker, so it was worth it. Also close to torque>janiwalker- I can hit it, just didnt give it enuf attempts.

All in all, 3.75 hrs of footbag, neck=fine, with no ibuprofen!

I recorded only 3 pars  , all on the back 9, and one birdie 8) , also on the back 9. I shot a 33 on the back 9 and par was 27-not too shabby. Dont ask about the front 9 tho

In related news, I found some of my stitching materials, after having thought they were lost for nearly 2 months! Turns out, they were buried in the trunk of my car. Unfortunately tho, I still only have 4 colors, so i must use them wisely! I think i'll start to take up stiching again, but only as a hobby. We'll see how this one turns out . . .

Oh yeah, and I'm skooling stepping from osis-like moves as well as most of the 5 add moves that i suck at. The list goes on and on . . . . . . . . . .

Jeremy

Oh yeah, I am going to have a whirl session today, practicing spinning whirl, atomic whirl, and tomahawk. I hope to all of them on both sides, but we'll see . . .

record=straight: I have no wife.

combo of the day: legbeater> pdx whirl>blur> rpt
a few spinning whirls=1 side only
a few tomahawks=1 side only
a few atomic whirl, =1 side only

knees hurt prematurely so stopped attempting the above moves

did practice pdx whirls instead tho.

really close to spinning whirl>torque>blur! i want to hit that very badly!

July 4th,

Im not doing anything special today other than hanging out with Amelia, but i did have a very special shred session. I didnt hit too many amazing things, but i did hit a couple of things that I was very proud of, and missed something else, that I was equally proud of. It was great because I tried combo X, which I'd never thought of trying before, and I got close my first try! Then, although it took me about 40 tries to hit it, i knew i could, so i just gave myself enough chances until I hit it. It felt great, and I sealed it with a small run. After that, I hit a veeeeery clean furious (pdx) illusion first try.

Earlier in my session, I hit spinning osis>blurry whirl, dyno>blurry whirl, and osis>blur, all with the stepping from my flip osis- well, I dont really have a flip osis, but it is waaay harder for me to step from one osis than the other. I was happy with that! Also, I drilled matador and i hit between 4-8 on both sides- my strong side is coming along nicely. Also, I hit a flip "hurl," or nuclear ss whirl, although I think I deleted it from my camera to make room for double symp whirr attempts, which I never hit.

All in all, I pushed myself very hard and had a great time :D

July 5-

Short session, 40 min or so.
Some good torque runs, including gravedigger a couple of times, and my first pixie ss torque, midrun! I didnt even think about it-just threw it in there, totally unplanned. Sweet. Lets see, didnt hit too much. Ive been schooling some of the harder tricks from my strong steppng set, blurry drifter, bedwetter, and fog. I hit a couple of fogs and a bedwetter after only a few tries during my runs, which was nice. Got suuuuuper close to gravedigger> whirling swirl! I'll hit that in my next session for sure. das it.

Ive been in Santa CRuz for the last 4 days or so, looking for a new living accomodation. Luckily, Moxie has allowed me tocrash at her ans her sister's pad which was super kind and cool of her. We have had a few kicks, a few laughs, and some good eats. Today, I decided to get a townhome (rent) in a small community up HWY 1 called Aptos. It is about 12 miles below Santa Cruz, nestled beside the ocean. Awesome! So, that means that Ill be spending the next year of my life in California, which I am very excited about. Also cool is that the townhome is very spacious, with 2BR and 2BA, and a panoramic ocean view from both the livingroom and master bedroom windows!

Ill post a pic of the view up in this blog sometime soon.

Yesterday Moxie, Dr. Ridiculous, Farzan, and I had a sweet freestyle session, the highlights of which are posted in Moxie's blog, so I wont list them here. Needless to say, iut was my first real Santa Cruz footbag session, and I am very excited about the prospect of footbag exploding in Santa Cruz. I was really impressed with Farzan, who is a born-again newbie, but who had great control of his stalls and whom, I believe, will take to freestyle like a penguin to water. He is also a very nice guy with a good head on his shoulders, which helps. All in all, I had a great time at that session, 210 minutes worth of fun.

Today, Moxie and I had an abbreviated session. We didnt play very hard, just had fun and practiced some tricks, runs, and combos. I hit 18 drifrers today, close to my record, and I think I only tried about 5 times in total.

You'll come to Santa Cruz for the sessions, but you'll stay for the canned ham giveaway . . .
