Hey Viktor! Nice stuff, you're drilling like a mad. Nice shuffling stuf, and nice work on duckings. This is cool thing.

Wow VIK, I agree with Pawel here, that is some pretty good shuffle. And also few really BIG tricks in there (that's so unlike you! hehe).

atom smasher>phoenix ??? whoa. That's a good idea; I'm pretty sure I can't get my pixie high enough following an a-smasher. Do you think you can you add one trick to that so as to make a sick 3? Major Proppazz!

ok, last wednesday session was superb.

i trained some single tricks with andre and it was succesful.
andre did some cool 2 move combos. for example, pixie ss osis > torque. probably the best goal on that day was fairy diving whirl for him!!!! he is going crazy. working 8 hours every day and shredding so hard. much respect!
for myself, i did 4 tap´s in a row. i tried some vortex´s, but can´t get the gyro move enough around, so that it´s easy to do the drifter. i should work on gyro mirages, to hit them more consistent, so vortex would go easier. i´m right now really into ducks/dives. they are so fun and not as powertaking as dlo/eggbeaters. the goals were diving mirage bs. FREUDE! oh yeah, i forgot about the paradon bs. that´s really cool, but i feel, it´s all about the set. the double dex is ok, it could be tighter around the bag, but time will make it. when i set it perfectly, the way my legs describe are nearly perfect. but why is datw so much harder? i am working hard on osis´s, but they make me mad. what a fucking move!!!
i´d like to have my stepping set more consistent, to have a more fluid game. i need more strength, to do it in a row. steppings make me very tired, i need more muscles.

it´s awesome, how much attention our club get in the past. we founded us in december last year to make it official. and in these days, we have so much events, that people like us to join and show the footbag sport. the most event´s are things like cigarettes- and alcohol-prevention. i´m not 100% behind these views, but money is a bitch and so, we will show kids, how nasty alcohol can be and how much fun footbag is! all this money we earn, will go in the german championships this summer. i´m so happy, how everything grows and develops!!!

Yeah, if organising an event isn't a good cause for selling your soul, I don't know what is!

You're right about the energy-thing; I like to alternate shuffle with ducks and spins (mostly cuz they look cool but also to preserve some power!).

Stepping doesn't have to be very demanding on the muscles, I think. I don't have any muscles and my step is good. On the set, try to go really LOOOW with your clipper foot, until you almost touch the ground with the outside of your shoe. That should give you "much" time for the dex; at least enough for completing it without too much effort (that's the advantage us long-legged people have)...

Love your blog! It gives me an idea on how good you guys are getting (and on how much I should practice to avoid getting my ass kicked HARDER next time I see y'all  )

footbag is fun

Post by skoxn »

well last session was sweet. i´ve played with viktor in the green Westpark.
at first i did some promotion, when i kicked with a couple and gave them a small flyer with the club-homepage-url.
then he came and we kicked us warm. after a short warm-up-session, i mainly trained new uncommon tricks i do and flopside stuff. my legs were sore and i had pains by doing smp tricks, so no long were available. but the new hits are unbelievable:

- paradon bsos
- diving mirage bsos

and what i´m most happy about: pdx dlo bsos!!! when you turn your hip, it´s really not harder as a normal dlo.

i have the most problems with flopside drifter from toe. i don´t hit the small window, i open myself. i think my movement is good, i don´t set too high, the rythm is ok, but the damn small window is the key!

at the end i felt better with my painful legs and i played sick3 with the slick and had some good combos, which make me feel good:
- tap > tapdown > pdx eggbeater
- pdx drifter > diving clipper > bubbabeater
- fairy ss butterfly > ps mirage > ss dlo

now i will rest until wednesday, to be full recovered. we must have enough power, to make a small 30 sec shred every hour from 09:00 to 14:00. luckily, i´m not alone by myself, so noone must do it everytime.

OHHHH and for sure, check out the new video, that has been upped. the direct link is http://dexdo.de/grafik/videos/files/dexdo_small.avi it shows people, i mainly kick with. i´m not satisfied with myself in the movie, cause i had bad runs with low contacts, no variety, etc.. but i like to have a club video and to watch myself play with the bag :D

uhhh YEAR, da footjam rocked! 8)

I was a great event, and i met a lot of nice people! Many of them i knew already (aachener!, munich crew, frankfurt, berlin shredatorz, and da DÄNIScH!), but there had been also some new people for me :). I liked the french connection! We had some 4square sessions together and some joints ;) . But i was mostly flashed by our Golfteam! :) We had been the most International golfteam on this event i guess hehe. I played together with: Daniel from Frankfurt,Germany | Dan Waldispül from Switzerland (thx DAN for guiding us!) | Tobi from Denmark! (european golf champ, and our teamcoach!) | and last but not least Jana from check-republic, who was a very nice girl. I´m really looking forward to the fotos we made on this golfing day (yes it took us nearly the whole day to examine this golfparcour, which was spreaded all over Zürich).

@ SATURDAY

This was the routine-day, where all the freestyleroutines had been played.
The very first competition was intermediate-freestyle: I played my best routine up to now, with 6 drops i guess (which are very few for me :) ), and i proceded to the open eleminations. But mysecond routine was really nasty...more than 10 drops for sure, and no artistic interpretation at all....
(hope to see both routines on video in order to analyse them...)
For me there was almost no shred @ this day, just played my routines and watched the others!

@ SUNDAY

On sunday i spend most time with playing golf! As written before we had a nice team, and event the weather got really nice, so we had a nice time by playing, talking and chilling at the different golf holes. Tobi was our best player, i wasn´t wondering....still he´s the european champ. Also Daniel had some geniuos moments, but unfortunatly he coulnd´t play all the time like this ;) . Dan played well, too. But whats more important...he was our leader through Zürich and a nice entertainer, too hehe. For Jana it was the first time playing golf, but after the first kicks she got really good! I think from now on, she´ll be a enthusiastic golf player!
After we got back, there was a players party at the evening. So i got there with my lavers etc. cause up to this day, i haven´t shredded really...and shredding with others is more important for me than routines... But my legs we´re so damaged, that i couldn´t really well...iu just was able to stand some 2-3 move combos. Afterwards Jan putted me on the 30sec shred list, therefore i finally even played 30sec. I didn´t wanted to, but Jan persuaded me, and after all it was really nice to play there, although i didn´t shred well on stage. Ahh and it was nice to see Derryl (munich crew) on stage, too.

@ MONDAY

monday was a very rainy day....i spend nearly all the day by watching net games, which was a lot of fun! i#ve seen some nice games! After lunch more and more freestylers got awake and put their lavers on. After i´ve seen this, i couldn´t hold myself back, so i put on my shredding stuff and forced my legs to do some more tricks. I had some nice shred circles with beatrice, jana, derryl, check guy(sorry i don´t remember your name),matze and a french guy. after i thought i´ll don´t have a nice shred on the footjam, these guys and maddams made it possible! :D
I hitted some nice but short shuffling runs, butter rev. swirls and some blazing mirage. But the main thing i hitted was blazing drifter, which i was trying since 2 months...

BIG thx for this nice event!!!!!

yep, we will.

today´s session was nice. i had one good run with pdx dlo bsos, eggbeater, flip smp bubba and diving mirage. but nonetheless i feel very limited in my game. i trained lots of these "air tricks" like dlo, eggbeater and forgot to school single sets. i´d like to have a pixie set, which can be played out of everything toe stall.
oh yeah and finally i did a decision about my routine music. i will take "Mr. Bungle - Ars Moriendi". a crazy, weird music. hard to play with lots of speedchanges and highlights, but i hope, i will get that music soon in my brain.

finally, i´m looking forward to the gfo. sounds pretty nice on the page. and berlin-events are always beasty! weeeeeeee!!!!! see you all in berlin soon.
good night!

i did it my way!

Post by skoxn »

i haven´t played footbag since monday this week. i hope, i´ll be strong for berlin now!!!1 8)

right now, i´m packing my bag for the journey. tomorrow at 15 o´clock, i´m on the way. i´ll probably drive home on sunday afternoon at 18 o´clock.

maan, i haven´t really trained my routine, as i wanted to. maybe i played it four times. i wanted to have it completely in my mind, to do a clean, organized performance. but now, i just can hear that wicked song over and over till i puke.

oh, and infosinfosinfos:

i did torque the last sessions 3 times in a row strongside. one good time on my flip. i´ve tried mobius, but yeah, you can guess...

i can tell you, i have the disorganizest footbag club ever. we have months of time to plan a good trip to berlin, that everyone is satisfied. NOW (1day before we must go) all people come together to say, i want it that way, i want it this way.... HORRIBLE!!! you can´t make everyone happy. something is everytime wrong! ok, but now after 4 long hours of chatting we get a plan that everyone is welcome (must be welcome!). hrhr, i never wanna have it this way!
nothing can stop us on the way to berlin. GFO-Crown watch out and be sure to hide save! WE GET YA!!!!!!!!!1111

GERMAN FOOTBAG OPEN 2005 REPORT

Post by skoxn »

GFO 05 IN BERLIN

yup, here it is. my personal report about the wonderful event in germany´s biggest city.
it all started FRIDAY at 15.00 o´clock. i met my friend bernd and a guy from russia called wowa. we three had a meeting with "anke", who will be our driver to berlin. we connected to her through "mitfahrzentrale" (a platform, where you can add your drive to a city and other people can join you, so you get your money and must not drive by yourself). so noone knew anything about anke and the other person who probably will drive with us.
at the dortmund main trainstation we met us and it was like: SHIT!!! the other guy was a 2 meter high big bodyguard and anke was an aggressive, loud lesbian, who drove to berlin to get some girls, after her ex girlfriend made some shit with other friends!? so we three sat on the backbench with lots of stuff, that doesn´t fit in the back of the car. wow. the first hour we heard an album by RAMMSTEIN! i thought, oh my goddess. please don´t let us listen to those music anymore. the heat in the car was big and fresh air was very rare. i sweated my t-shirt three times full.
anke screamed some times, when other cars drove not fast enough and both in the front smoked all the time! *puke*
after 7,25 hours with one short break we arrived in berlin and i was so happy to be out that car!!!! definately an interesting impression. i don´t have to re-do it, but it was ok. after that we had to drive by train and metro again for 40 minutes to be in the OSZ.
i really really love the feeling, when you arrive after such a long time a footbag tournament. you´re tired, but happy to be there. it´s time to open the first beer or roll the first joint. you build up your sleeping place and everyone is so gentle. i met people, i knew from other tournaments and so the "it-feels-so-good-to-be-here"-feeling started. the munich guys slept next to me and ilja showed up and said hello.
at i don´t know when, we went for the party to david kaufmann´s cellar club. there was an interesting four square field with walls on each corner so you can play footbag like pool billard. a hard weapon, when you kick against the wall and the bag falls down very near that.
i went home, when it started to light up in the morning.
oh and not to forget the "happy trigger tv"-phone call at 05.00 o´clock in the morning. i already slept, i think, then my girlfriend called me on my mobile phone and i talked to her. i had not the impression, but everyone was laughing when i stopped talking to her. they said: maaan, you screamed so loud!!!!!!!!11 i thought, i talked in a normal silence to her...
after that funny interruption, my stomach and face muscles had some pain and i felt in sleep for some hours.

in the morning, i woke up with very tiny eyes. the footstars did a nice breakfast with muesli, coffee and fruits. so the SATURDAY just can be good! after showering and packing my bag, we went to the beautiful yaam area.
my first big WHOA! was, when i saw the three danish kids (age 12-14, i think). they did a circle and shredded, when even not much people where there. i first chilled a bit and looked around the location, the swimming pool on the river and the people. at 13.00 i started to kick myself warm. the preliminaries shall started at 13.00, but it was clear, that the timetable won´t follow exactly. after doing some 2adds, to get in shape, i played a bit with dary.
then the preliminaries started and i had to watch, cause 4 members of my club played in there, divided in different pools.
uwe started first player in first pool. and that decision really made him nervous i think, even when he prayed to the crow, to give him some applause :D he had too much drops and played under his level of play. maybe should work out a routine and should not only go to a tournament and pick up some music from somebody. hrhrhr.
the next was andre, i think. he had quite a good routine, even when i missed some nice combos, he can do regularly on command like pixie oisi > torque. he had not that much drops, but should work out a routine too. andre will go big in the future, i promise!
next dortmund player was viktor. he had music, but had not really trained his routine. i was surprised, cause normally he is young, fresh born horse, when he enters the stage. you see his knees shaking and he does ugly motions  viktor was in good shape and had just a few drops. he played ok, no really big tricks, but safe! that makes him to be in the next round.
i was the fourth, that had to play. i was in pool 4 player 3. my enemies were felix zenger, lasse salmenhaara, max from berlin, max from munich and one other guy. i din´t recognize tha the first 4 players from each pool come to the next round, so my hopes with those two big fins in my pool weren´t that great. i went on stage, after calling my name and it was a wierd feeling. i had planned my routine very exactly, maybe too good on some marks for me, but i hoped on my good luck. the only thought that went straight to my mind was: DO NOT DROP! DO NOT DROP! after the first 2 or 3 2 add tricks, i had to do a ripwalk on the beat and what: i DROPPED! fugg!!! my legs felt heavy and i can´t even did a single dlo. the whole routine went too fast for me and my imagination. so shame on me, i am superuncomfortable with my performance. i wanted to do under 8 drops (i counted the less on my training), but did 15 or so!? so, i was happy, when the 2 minutes were over and i can relax in a chair.
the last and best was nils from our team. he was in the last pool. he had a routine and played on the new single by gorillaz. a thought-through routine with less drops and a nice ripwalk > ripwalk > blurry whirl link!!! he played good, even when he could do much better in the future. but his routine needs to be in round two!
all the other routines were crazy and i enjoyed jan zimmermanns disco-inferno routine the most!
arrrghhhh, so much to write... in the afternoon, the seminfinals started. nils had sore muscles and decided not to play. viktor played the young horse and did a nasty routine :D
in the evening the fusssterne did some soup and bread for the players and everybody was recovering from the first two tiring routines. the backstage area was quite calmful and we sat next door to michail gorbatschow and yuri rozum. what a pleasure!!!!!
the finals show was very good moderated by atze zimmermann. the finalists rocked the crow and felix did some nice beatboxing in the end (which i liked much more than vasek!!!) he played "snoop dogg - drop it like its hot", which was very impressing to me.
felix and honza had to battle each other in the players room, when nearly all freestyle players watched them doing insane combos. after that i was just running around, being the big hall dancing to dark drumnbass, chilling in the players room, playing tennis with glass bottles and a cigarette package, talking with gentle people. i had no really spot, that holds me down. i left the party with inga in the morning, when sun rises up. when we arrived some people from east germany sat in front of the gym and we had a smoke, till i went to bed. oh yeah, anna from dortmund was quite a loud sleeper (if you know, what i mean) and she slept right next to me. so i had to roll her beside and get my matress a few meters away to get some sleep!

after 5 hours of sleep i woke up next to the munichs and had to come clear! the SUNDAY was relaxing. first the breakfast, than the relaxed walk to the yaam. after arriving, i bought a bag from hania, which i now have to break in hard!!! i started the sports part with some calm foursquare with szymon, rasmus, uve, one frenchie and different germans. first i wanted make a day full of shred, cause i haven´t played that much the last day and i am not as tired as i thought. so i shredded a bit, but then my desire, to watch the net finals was too great, that i stopped playing and walked in the hall. the game was good, it´s always nice to watch them jumping around!
at 18.15 o´clock we had to go away to get our car with "anke" again  i shaked quick some hands and said goodbye, then bernd, me and wowa went away. after 500 metres, i recognized i missed my players bag in the yaam, to have a look and get my towel. the time pressure mad me crazy and i gave the search after 5 mins up, to get the train to the westend station. fuck it!!!
we met anke at 19:30 and sure, there was again one other driver, so our appointment to sit with 3 people in the back for a long, long time came true!! ok, no rammstein this day, but cruel, ugly trance music. one cd for 6 hours. rofl. i was just too tired to say anything, i tried to sleep as many as i could. we had to drive 1,5 hours more, cause bernd and wowa would have missed their train in dortmund, when we regularly would drive there. so we decided to make a stop in bielefeld to kick them out, that they drive there to their hometown münster. just bad luck, that the last train drove two hours ago. in the end, they slept at my girlfriends place and went to münster on monday in the morning.

i thank so much people for that well done tournament. the ones, that organized everything, like the kitchen team and just everybody who was involved. you did a great job, make sure, next time will be same or better! thanks to all players, especially to the modified ones. oh yeah and thanks to everyone who has just read this report. i think i wrote now nearly one and a half hour in english and i can tell you, it´s no divert.

goodbye you all and see you in wroclaw, poland!!!

yeeep, excitedness about the euros!!!

Post by skoxn »

yep, we will, wim. we will!!

yesterday was such an ugly weather, you can´t really play footbag without going out of breath in 20 sec. nobody was really in good shape.
so i tried just some small combos, i´ve never done and hit some famose links:
 pdx drifter > pdx dlo
 drifter > pdx dlo > paradon
 pdx drifter > barfly

i also hit paradons bs, which become better and better. barrage bs came slowly, but i got them after a few tries. i´d like to go for barrage > paradon next time!!!

tomorrow i´ll probably buy bus tickets for poland. i will arrive on thursday morning and leave sunday in the evening. the ticket cost 92 euro and it takes 10-12 hours by bus. i´ll definately sleep in the student house, but i´d like to have some more precise informations about it! how many people sleep in one room? what room sizes does exist? will everything work?
hopefully i´ll be in a bit good shape, when i play my routine on thursday after that horrible ride!!! my goal is to come in round 2! that would be a great success. my last euro routine was back in 2003 in frankfurt. i mainly hit far legover and other 2 add tricks with less 3adds there. so, i have some more expectations this time :)
i´m really ecited about poland. when i was young i always had thoughts like: i´ll never go to poland!! NEVER EVER!
i was one time in the czech republic, near behind the border of germany and it was horrible. the houses were destroyed, the sky was grey, it rained and i had lots of fear, when i saw those people buying tons of big cigarette packages!!! it was such a cruel impression for me, i set poland same with czech republic. my thoughts of poland were: grey, dark, poor, no nice people and danger! ;) i have polish friends and they had not take my imagination of poland away. when they talked about their time poland, it sounded for me like: nope, i don´t wanna be there.
BUT NOW, times have changed and after 2 very, very nice times in prague i WANNA BE IN POLAND
i´m looking forward to wroclaw/breslau in a few days. now just one week of work and then awwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!111111111

goodbye and see you all!

WHAT THE.....

i´m sitting right now in the "fernuniversität hagen" (far-university hagen). that is a special type of university, cause they don´t have any lessons nor rooms there. the students get the stuff, they have to learn, at home. the university sends all letters and infostuff to the students.
my work right now is to attend a 40 year old blind man, who works here. he programms all lessons in the blind font and "translates" the normal font in that 6-dot-style.
hmm, but my real real work is to drive him in his car every morning 20 minutes to the university and back, maybe cook some coffee or go shopping for him. the time that leads, i´m sitting right in front of this computer, reading modified over and over, writing e-mails or playing railroad tycoon 2. what a life... if i get some more money, i´d be super happy. but doing that job only, cause i don´t get a place to study, sucks hard!! if i had done my schooltime better, i could study.
in the past, social work was free for anybody to study. now, lots of people wanna study it (even if any possible money in the social sector will be shortened!?!?!). for my bad luck, i sucked at school, so now i have to wait for it.
schoolkids remember: DO YOUR BESTTTTT AT SCHOOL!!!!! NO JOKE!! even if you laugh about it (like myself ) :?
i will do this work here at the university till next friday, then a few days later, i´m on the way to poland. my work contract ends on the 31.07.2005, so wish me please luck, that i get this fucking college place!!! if not, i don´t know what to do. maybe i will go to italy for some time to work on farms or so....
ok, enough posted. i guess, i have some more time to write later...

mhhhm, sounds like a hard time skoxn. all i can say is: kopf hoch auch wenn der hals dreckisch is.
keep on practicing and keep on looking forward to wroclaw, i'm pretty sure this will give you new impulses.
i am looking forward to your tourney guys, even if it's much more than a month until i'm able to invest any thoughts of how to get there.
Keep up guys!
