America.....fuck yeah!!!

Post by delakong »

During the heat of the space race in the 1960s, the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration decided it needed a ball point pen to write in the zero gravity confines of its space capsules. After considerable research and development, the Astronaut Pen was developed at a cost of about US $1 million. The pen worked and also enjoyed some modest success as a novelty item back here on earth. The Soviet Union, faced with the same problem, used a pencil

This is a funny fact that I read. This is the site I read it on.

Just another interesting aside to that, A pencil can be used to repair a damaged circuit board, but an ink pen can not..

Wait, didn't Donald Duck also come up with the [x-dex] concept?

It's all making sense now...

Brilliant!!!
Okay, I had to check this one out.

Just as a quick background for those unaware, the 2 dollar bill was removed from circulation a number of years ago, replaced by the "Twonie", the two dollar coin.

I have 4 mint condition 2 dollar bills right in front of me, and the flag over the parliament building is definitely Canadian.

Maybe there's an older version of the 2 dollar bill that the "fact" refers to?

 Yeah, that was in the 70s I guess. Sex Pistols' gig here was also cancelled. :D
Nowadays, Aku Ankka (=Donald Duck) is one of the biggest magazines in Finland, I repeat, it's one of the biggest magazines in Finland. NOT just the comics, ALL magazines. Donald Duck as a comic is probably nowhere else as popular as here.
