Shiiiiiiiiiiit man, that's so freakin harsh
If you pulled the muscle, apply a hot water bottle to help relax it - that should help and ease some of the pain and allow you to be a bit more mobile. Lots of rest and lots of application of hot water bottles! If you have a cream (like A535) that would also help too but do not apply it when you are using the bottle.
Hope you feel better soon man

Thanks Byrin. I actually took a couple of your suggestions (well, the water bottle one at least) and used them several times. My shoulder is feeling mostly better now, and when Im taking ibuprofen, I barely feel the pain at all, although there is still some restricted head turning. Wen off of ibuprofen, it still gets sore and a bit stiff. All in all, I think Ill take it easy over the next few days, no ducking runs that's for sure. Anyway, just wanted to update this thread to prevent all of you worrisome footbaggers out there from becoming sidetraacked from your responsibilities by my injury
Anyhow, shred on!

That's good to hear that it's better. Anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen are good to take to decrease swelling, as is applying ice or frozen vegetable packages.
One time when watching Attack of the Clones, I position my head in such a way that I may have dislocated a disc in my neck. I absolutely could not move my head without incredible pain and it was very very swollen. When running your fingers over it, you could feel the dislocation of one of whatever it was that was dislocated and I started to massage it. About 5 minutes into it I hear a crack and suddenly the swelling went down, the pain subdued and my head was mobile once more.
It seems farfetched, I'm sure, but honest to God I'm telling the truth. It was extremely scary because I didn't know exactly how I caused the injury and am always afraid that it will happen again anytime
