I'm definatley NOT trying hard enough. Sometimes it's funny. Most of the time I regret it. But not if it's funny. Sometimes.

Gonna see Batman Begins later today. I'm really anxious to see this movie. I've read quite a few reviews and it seems like a really good film. I'm a big batman fan and the comics are what made me get into illustration. There was a simple pencil sketch on the second page of Batman: Son of the Demon that inspired me to seriously persue art in school ( to become a dental assistant :? ). The image was so different from what you would normaly see. Batman is simply walking towards the viewer, his head is tilted down with his arms behind him with the wind blowing his cape off to the the side. He just looks like his guard is down and he's lost in deep thought. I was just deeply moved the first time I saw it. The crazy part is that it's just a simple pencil drawing, not some fine arts masterpiece painting, or a massive sculpture... just a drawing. I figure that if I could create at least one thing in my life that could inspire someone to do great things than my life would have meant something.

Quite the day so far. I made last minute plans to hack with some people @ Taste of Chicago. But Hood called me told me about his situation so I canceled my plans for kicking @ Taste and made plans for shredding with Hood in the evening. This took about 30-35 phone calls in the span of several hours.

Now I wait. I cannot beat time. For all my means and effort, I cannot win against time. Despite all bitching and moaing about our tardiness I cannot avoid being late myself. Doubleyoo Tee Eff?

How much does a huge order of facile revolutions cost? And Your J-bags are so sweet. I think J-bags are the BEST looking bags out there. I still havent had the chance to play with a broken in one yet, though mine is the only one ive ever played with. Its getting there though :D

I get Revolutions/Freedoms relatively cheap and sell them for a bit more than what I payed for. Then I am able to buy more bags for the next order

Month in review

Last month's goals.
X set up/promote jams earlier  <---- progress smiley
_ be on time to jams
X bring more kickers to sessions (contact info from Lane and Devry) :D
X have enough stock for festivals 8O
X get the shirts done 8)
X jog/exercise more :D
_ redo those goddamned flyers :x

June's weather was much better than May's. Sunny and hot to start off and turning milder with some really humid days every so often. Not much rain this month and there was mention in the news how this drought was affecting certain communities. To me it was just great kicking weather. Ive got quite a nice little tan going.

2 events that really stick out this month was Shawn's Southside Freestyle Day and Bluesfest. Great kicking and lots of cool people... what more can you ask for? I even freestyled more this month. I'm still very rusty and not in the best shape I can be. Tom still continues to impress with his smoothness and his consistancy. Kamil's knee has been bothering him a bit more but it does not stop him from coming out to play when he can. Reile has come out to several jams to shred. His game seemed to have been helped by the time he took off to rest injuries. Hope to see more of him at our sessions. Tim has bailed out on me (always last minute) on about 10 of the last 12 sessions. If you're reading this, you can call me if you want to kick with us... otherwise I will not waste any more of my time trying to get a hold of you. James came to town to kick with us at Taste. Always great to see him. Too bad we didn't get a chance to hang out more. Only 2 hours away...

Speaking of out-of-towners, John Mahood came for the first weekend of Taste. What a cool guy. I really tried my best to make his stay here as smooth and as easy going as possible. I just hope I helped. There have been 3-4 Lane kids that come out to our sessions now on a consistant basis. The cool thing is that you only need to get a hold of one of them and they can bring out the rest. I can admire that kind of efficiency. Shawn shows major improvement every time we kick and I'm really jealous of how solid his fundamentals are. Nykki and the twins have resurfaced... Jerome has kicked with us a few times and it's a riot whenever he's around. Hooked up with a bunch of new players (and old friends) this month, hope they will come out to our jams on a regular basis.

Have not played a lot of 4 square this month and oddly enough I'm ok with that. Could it be from more freestyle? 8O Or frisbee? 8) I just bought one that lights in the dark <droolgasm>

All the footbags that I ordered last month came in :D I might have went a little overboard. I have been jogging and eating better the past month but I still need to exercise more. Being on time is still a struggle and I'm not organizing jams as efficiently or as early as I could but I think it has still improved from the month before. Tom has helped out calling and e-mailing people and I really appreciate the extra effort.

Its been a fun month of kicking and I'm happy that I accomplished most of my goals. I was going to write something about how I can't wait to see how this month will turn out... but I guess most of that is up to me

This month's goals
_ BE ON TIME
_ DO NOT buy more 32's.
_ exercise more. Lose another 3-4 pounds.
_ stay in constant contact with new players.
_ promote/prepare for Midwest Regionals. Modified thread here.
_ have meeting about membership, roadtrips and website
_ organize earlier/better
_ those damn flyers...

you got a ton of pictures, some vids, more players, and plenty of computer internet savvy peeps to help.

I dont know how much an internet site cost but im sure it can be done and i would definately help cause i really think a really nice website is a great tool for informing/promoting.

a new CIC site with your own message forum, news, pics, vids, bios, event reviews/strories, flyer print outs, would be uber cool.

Zeke, the only reason you're still in good health is because you sent me that shirt for my birthday.

Got called in to work today. My legs are still sore from running. It's funny, when Emily and I decided to work out 'together' I was really dreading the running part of our exercise plan. All my previous attempts at jogging regularly were short lived and very painful. But now I'm actually looking forward to my morning run. It's a nice chance to just clear my head and get the day started right. Quality shoes and gel insoles are a big help in absorbing the shock and I hardly have any more pains. This means I stretch regularly again. Stretching feels good... body and mind. I can't think of anything more relaxing than stretching in the morning on a sunny day in the middle of an empty park.

Work has been easy so far and we're still on schedule! BBQ later... maybe beach tomorrow.

NICE. Today, Zeke is happy.

Still gotta talk to da guys about the Dunes.

I biked to the beach today and hacked with Nathan, Greg and Jon. My lavers were in my bag but I was just too worn out after the ride to really do much more than kick the bag around. My knee is still a little sore from trying to freestyle with James last Saturday. I aggrivated it some more when I tried to play basketball on the 4th. Oddly enough it really didnt bother me much when I jogged during the week. I've noticed that it only hurts when I extend from a deep crouch or if I straighten my left leg too fast.

So after hacking for about 3 hours I sat down too cool off for a few minutes and tried to convince myself that I would survive the ride home. It's about a 9-10 mile ride and I have not done it in a little over a year. Fortunately I had the wind to my back and I took a slightly different path home where 85% of it was bike path and the rest was through traffic. it took me only 30 minutes to bike home, which is a whole 5 minutes faster than my quickest times using my normal routes. It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. I'm suposed to jog before work tomorrow. I'll see how my legs feel when I get up and stretch before I decide to go through with it or not.

I've been really pleased with my weight loss progress so far. I've lost 5 pounds and people have noticed it without me ever having to ask if they think I've lost any weight. My biggest worry at the beggining of this was that I would lose motivation early on and just go back to eating a lot of garbage and being less active. But I'm glad I've stuck with it... it'll be nice to see my abs again :) I just had to get this down in case somewhere down the line I start to slip

I've been wondering this as well.
