This is the biggest musical project I've completed, 7 minutes of slow dnb/fast breaks for all of you.. it's a 2 parter, so there are quite a few surprises in the song:

I just downloaded this and am listening to it right now. I really like it. I don't know much about music and what is supposed to be good or what is tough to do, but I'm liking what I'm hearing so good job!

"Hard to do" in this kind of music is much different then with traditional instrumentalization (nice word huh?)

I spend hours upon hours on every song, and take my time and do minor adjustments to sounds using things like EQ, Compression, Reverb, Panning, etc. to try and get the best sound possible out of each instrument. I think of the song as a whole, so the difficult part is not playing the song, or each piece, but arranging them in a unified whole.
When you have SO MANY MANY sounds available to use in electronica, its hard to really focus to get your idea down, and to not go overboard with wacky effects and sounds. In fact a techniue to make certain things stand out is to cut everything else away.. it sounds simple, but it really isn't, because im still learning so much.

Im particularily proud of this one because of how sophisticated both the parts sound to me.. I dunno, they just go together so well, and its like the whole song already existed, and I just "found out about it".

I'm really disapointed I can't figure out how to download this; damn my lack of common knowledge referring to computers.....

Damn thanks for all the positive reviews, glad you guys liked it. Im getting my new comp soon, and FINALLY I'll be able to write music properly with none of the BS I have to go through right now, so certain things will go WAY WAY faster, and so less frustration from me and more time spent on a track because of it.

BTW If any of you guys want to collab some time, regardless of what instrument you play give me a shout! As long as you can digitize it on your end we can work something out.

hey nick, I threw the CD you handed me at that rochester afterparty into my CD player as soon as I got home, but discovered that I couldn't connect my CD player to my tuner. just the other day I got it working, and played a cd (it's a three disk changer) and then when it was done, yours came on.

I was sitting there trying to figure out who the fuck was playing over my speakers. I ran through all the electronica I own, comparing it to what i new. was it boards of canada? no... sixtoo? no... autechre? dj food? cold cut? I couldn't figure it out.

So finally I was like, shit, this music is pretty good, and I finally got off my ass to open the CD player, and found your CD inside. Damn, you can roll with the big boys!

All this to say that your beats are dope. keep it coming!

Hmmm I might be able to ZIP it to you and send it out. This CD is a promotional thing, so its free, though you will have to find the hosting solution because I dont know any..

Im sort of busy and this computer isnt even mine, so I wont be able to do this any time soon.. maybe in a few weeks though.

If I can get a copy, and if I can burn a copy, I'd like to send it to Triple J - a National wide, youth radio station. I'm sure they'd concider playing some of your stuff. I've only really heard 'the revolution today' and I think it kicks arse... I'm sure that'd get airtime.
