Too many stickies?

Post by Jeremy »

Would anybody mind if I reduced the amount of stickies in this topic?

I was thinking about doing the same thing as the video topic - ie. I'll cut it down to "name in sig" and a topic listing all the topics that are currently sticky. The "May Sick1 and Sick3 Competition = Online Now" will not be mentioned since it's over now.

I agree, new runs, new moves, set list, and nickname list should all be stickies I think :)

New Runs and New Moves should have been erradicated when the blog forum was created, classic as they are, they only serve as places to make double posts.

I still say that the name in sig only needs to be in the Getting Started and Gen. forums. It's been announced, we can stop screaming from the mountaintops.

While we're deciding, can we make this sticky so that people will see it? Thanks.

Wait? You agree with me that there are too many stickies but you basically want things to stay the same except we add one more sticky?

To be honest - I personally think it's a waste of time to talk about the name in sig topic. Maybe if you knew how many PMs I've sent in the past about that topic (first you send the n00b a welcome message and mention it, then you send another message explaining how to do it - which you explained in the first message, then you send another message explaining it again and then sometimes you send a thankyou message) you would understand why I really really want that topic to stay. It's a global announcement. Hopefully people will read it - or at least read the topic title and figure it out for themselves. I love n00bs that do it without being asked - they gain my instant respect (at this point Jeremy imagines the reactions of all the former n00bs that did recieve pms and cringes - I respect you guys too :D)

David, this is an old old joke - but I did it for you anyway :D

Edit: Oh but the problem with having too many stickies is that everybody just ignores them. If we only have a few that are relevant people are much more likely to read them.

Agreed, way too many stickies. I think name in sig should stay, the rest can fend for themselves. new runs and new moves will likely stay on top anyway. But yeah, now there are so many stickies that when a new one is added, I don`t even notice it.

Why not have one sticky topic with links to all those other topics.

edit: Sorry jeremy. I didnt really read the post. I just saw "would anyone mind if I reduce the amount of stickies in this topic". I didnt actually see what was done in the videos section but yeah, its better this way.

Yes Ninja - that's exactly what I'm talking about - doing the same thing as I did in the video topic!
