I cant believe how happy i am at the moment, no school for another 3
weeks!! :D :D :D

So obviously this period of time will give me more opportunities to get better at footbag. I played today for only about 1 hour, just doing basic stuff.

In the afternoon i kicked with Dan and Jon, and both are playing well. UNfortunately dan had the oversized lavers so he didnt try any hard moves. Jon was playing well, he hit pixie ss reverse whirl a couple of times today! including reverse whirl > whirl :D

Nothing special for me, just did some runs. i remember:

20 contacts of stuff ending in PS Whirl
some toe whirls and paradons

At night i played at home, schooling my spins on both sides. I have it kind of figure out, but i still cant consistently hit a decent one on my flipside. It will take a while, but i feel as though i am slowly getting the motion right.
On my strong side i focused on spinning butters, and executing them in a fashion that my dexing knee is lifted fast after spin. Later on i almost hit scorpion's tail.
I also worked on barflies a bit, they are so off right now, i didnt practice them for ages. I managed to get a few clean ones, but it still needs more work. And also DDD! so damn hard, i really want to get good at it.

I've decided to play with a new bag, a Jeremy "O'Wheely" bag, which is heavier and i require more skill to play with it. This will hopefully get rid of my sloppyness in my game at the moment. Soon my abshire will be broken in and it will be sweet! Red/Blue colour ocmbination :D

Im also into Counterstrike now, a bit old but its cool. I like CS warcraft, whre you can be invisible! 8O

Peace,

Alex

Hi, i haven't posted here in a while.

Jamie from Bendigo is here in Melbourne and today is his last day. He has already improved so much since he came here, and here is what he hit!

Pdx Dlo
25 alternating clippers
SO many long runs!!

We had a sech with Dan Scott him and I the other day:

Dan hits:
Ripped warrior > blurry drifter > ps whirl > spinning whirl
Some other crazy stuff
Janiwalker > blurriest flipside

Scott hits:
fucking butterfly to start runs many times
very good dlo's
dlo > dimwalk midrun
so many duckings and dfieters
ducking infinity > ripwalk midrun so many times

Jamie hits:
really long runs and solid tiltless!

That day i hit:
pdx drifter bs
reverse whirl bsos
stepping reverse whirl
Whirly gig = first 6
diving whirl = Hatchet
Blurry whirl about 15 ocntacts in about 5 or 6 times
blurriest to start a run twice.
ripped warrior without slurring

We are having a sesh tonight which will be awesome!

A small 2 hour session by myself today produced some good results:

Worked on Eggbeater, Drifter, Whirl, SPinning, DLO about 25 minutes each

Eggbeater - getting more solid on both sides, of course the dexes are started peaktime, i think i can hit pdx eggbeater soon

Drifter - this was probably my best part, i hit them downtime on both sides, and i finally understand them now. I will try smoke bs and blurry drifter bs

Whirl - flipside is still a bit frustrating (the actual dexterity). however at the end i found a better technique, and gained more consistancy with flip toe whirls. I did pdx whirl > osis 6 contacts

Spinning - this was really good. a few close calls with scorpions tail, and i hit some new ones:
Spinning ducking butterfly :D
SPinning pickup both sides
I also am getting better at flip spinning,
i nearly hit flipside spinning whirl, which i was very surprised. I didnt land it cos my flip whirls were crap
Spinning osis B2b

DLO - this was also good. my flipside is much better.
Flip pdx dlo
flip smog in shoes
Nearly FOG both sides.

More training will start tomorrow!! :D

So im Back from a Tourney to Brisbane! :D

I met up with Gareth, Jesse and Foxy (Adam Fox) for big day of shred at the PIazza. I met Gareth anf Foxy for the second time since Aus CHamps 2004, which i barely knew them then! :P

So the session was awesome! We started at around 11:30 am, playing with Jesse's good old abshire bag which is so sweet!

Everyone was playing awesome. Jesse is improving alot! He has more control and awesome style and i think he's improved alot since AFC 2005.
Gareth was awesome too! His pixie sets were very good and i think he has one of the best quantum sets ever!!!! He busted a few tripwalks, and also quantum ss leg over, qunatum ss butter, and qunatum leg over too!! Props Gareth! :D Next time i wanna see a pdx flail! :D
Foxy was such an awesome person and he also had awesome skills! He spins are really good and he hits spinning osis regurlarly! Man you so should have tried the blurry dyno cos it was sooo damn close!
I saw some legbeaters in there too and also torque and dyno! Props man keep rippin it up!

I think i played OK, i had some good guiltless runs including a 31 contact one including paradon, ripwalk > ripwalk > sidewalk, ducking butter b2b , toe whirl. Footed some tricks like reverse torque, spikehammer and some other things.

I think it was one of the most fun sessions ive ever had!! Thanks heaps to the BIrsbane crew, especially Gareth for organizing this shred and i hope to see you guys again sometime very soon! :D

Keep Shredding.

Alex, if you were only playing Ok, then I'm gonna puke.

Dude, you've got awesome control of the bag and a very solid style. I think you're very balanced with the stuff you were hitting and didn't really notice much of a weak side.

I'm just sorry we couldn't spend more time and show you around Brisbane more.

Oh, and don't thank me for organising. I didn't do anything. It was YOU turning up that got the ball rolling. It was so cool to see someone just fly to Brisbane for a day of footbag. Man, THAT is dedication. Both Foxy and I found that inspirational.

Keep playing and give Dan a run for his money ;)

Hey thanks guys for comments. Let us know Gareth when your coming around and that would be awesome :D

I had a session with Dan Ednie, Scott K and Jon Lee today at Scott's house. Its awesome!! The garage shred is good because there is a shred mat. ANyways that was the first time i went to his house and kicked there after nearly 1.5 years of knowing and shredding with him 8O

It was a great session.

Dan = runs with blurry drifter and barflies, janiwalkers, etc.
Barfly consecutive = 9
Surge
Bunch of symp flurries
I saw a run with blurry drifter bsos, sunilwalker, barflies bs, scorpion, mobius...,HUGE 8O
Dan will make BAP sometime and i think he is playing really well.

Scott = DLo's + Torques.
His torques are looking very very easy its ridiculous... torque > infinity is like nothing now and i think its one of the best style's too! He also did some improvement on spinning today and i think its going really well. Whirls look better too!

Jon = crazy
Jon continues to play with maximum consistency and its just awesome to watch. He hit witchdocter today which looked aweseme, and a bunch of dlo's and stepps and duckings and reverse whirls
New move for him today = reverse whirling rake!

i played OK today, it was cold and my runs were not as long as what i anticipated it to be. I did however hit some new stuff:
Reverse whirling rake
Toe reverse whirling rake
Stepping reverse whirling rake  sealed with neck stall
Symp whirling ss symp mirage :D
Barfly > down double down

Also hit Mobius for the 2nd time but with an Aurora

Good day, School tomorrow

hi

had a session today after school, first time since saturday cos my calf myscle was FUCKED . Any tips for recovery apart from stretches?
I got 8/10 in accounting small test which was good cos i thought i failed :|

my session was pretty crap, i didnt play well at all considering the bag was an aurora sandbag 8O

but i did hit:

good barfly (extremely clean on vid) on my flipside
good dod on my flipside (dex ended uptime)
barrage flipside dunno if clean
scorpion's tail which could have been the i dunno
some good good legbeate on flipside, like i had heaps of time. I think that is my strong now cos i cant hit it on the other side :P
toe whirls getting better on flipside, knee is high now.
spins were good
tried to improve osis
infinities - pissed me off cos i was so out or concentration and just couldnt hit as many as i anticipated.

In the end if i look over it it ended up being a pretty good session
i hate it when the last component really pissed you off meaning that you end the session badly so you think youve had a crappy session.

anyways, fuck i gotta do homework 8O

Hey Blog

i decided to play at least 30 mins to 1 hour every day, i usded to play heaps more but homework and other things are in my way
Anyways i had a good sesh today. I drilled my osai for a bit at the start, whilst drilling my flip stepping more and more. Both have shown small signs of improvement, especially flip sidewalk which was always a pain to me.

Osis was good, i feel my flip osis is shocking, but i seem more flexible and comfortable with them so hopefully it will get better. So much for drilling it with an aurora though :?

i drilled swirls a bit and they show signs of improvement too, my flipside is strangely clean for some reason, i dont even do it the rolling method. no roll, and proper ankle dex. Im happy :D Got some consecutive swirls as well and stepped out of them for the first time today.

some other highlights were:

spinning osis > ripwalk bs
spinning clipper > ripwalk REPEAT
nice clean spin whirl on cam, deleted shortly after
one good blender...

I wanna drill and drill now. but i gotta brush my teeth 8O

- stepping duckings both sides
- janiwalkers
- some other crazy shit i cant remember

Today i busked for about 2.5 hours with a friend who is a guitarist, and seriously we did really shit in terms os making money  But we still had a great time playing and stuff which was much more important :D

I played OK today but i realised i gotta school more of my osai and infinities. I will try 100 infinities and maybe 30 consec osis tomorrow, but my ankle is getting sore....

I hit some new things today,

Dolamite - i may have hit this one before but i cant recall hitting it so im calling this a new move.

2 blurriest in the same run - unfortunately on the same side, but i saw a lot of structural progress with my blurriest today. I hit like 20.

Pixie paradon , Blurriest in the same run - This was good for me because my flip pixie set was very good and i finished the dexes pretty quickly

Other than that, i was hitting torque like 8/10 times which i thought was really cool. My flip torques are getting better although i didnt try them today (i schooled a bit yesterday)

Anyways, im p4wning in CS now, so good! :D

Might skip shred tomorrow for recovery.

Life is great! 8)
