PINEAPPLES!!!

On the fruity topic...has anyone ever eaten an ugli fruit? They are pretty good. They kinda taste orangey but not. Anyone ever eat passion fruit? I'd like to say they are good and assume they are, but I never got my hands on one yet.

That reminds me of a fruit I had when I was little. I think we just called it Chinese grapefruit. It was super good and nothing really like a grapefruit -- it wasn't sour at all. More like a really exotic orange -- like combining tropical punch in the form of an orange or something.

I really like "apple pear"s -- that's what we call them. We only get them at Christmas, and they're like a dollar each.

I also really like Lychee, another Chinese fruit. But I think most people know what lychee is. My family owns land in China drawn on really old rice paper and ink, and back (100+ years?) when the maps were drawn we had orchards and orchards of lychee along the ocean @_________@ Lychee is also one of my favourite bubbletea flavours (after pineapple!)

Hmm...lychee. I have a lot more fruits to try than I know.

Reading about the "applepear" reminded me of these orange things my mom bought for me once. They were oranges, I guess, genetically mixed or whatever with cherries and grapefruit. I think. They looked like oranges on the outside, but on the inside the pulp had a more reddish color than an orange. They were pretty nifty. I wish I could find them again. I think their brand name was like "Mrs. Clement's."

Mulberries. They are like blackberries, but not as tangy. Mellower. Really good. Hard to find. I never see them in stores, but once in a while I'll actually stumble upon a mulberry tree. Petere Irish has a mulberry tree right outside his front door. It must be a pain in the butt for him, since for several months a year when the tree is bearing its fruit thousands of juicy berries fall all over his front yard and front steps, and everyone entering his home is likely to track squished mulberries into his home on their feet. At East Coast Championships two years ago, his blue carpet turned purple in a matter of hours, and this year everybody had to remove their shoes upon arrival. It was the largest pile of lavers I've ever seen. I'd gladly tolerate the problem myself, though, if I could have a big mulberry tree like that.

Ahh Mulberry! They are one of my fondest memories of my summers spent as a youngin playing in the forests around my home.

We would spend lots of our time picking these berries and eating them eagerly. Their taste ranges from slightly tart to watery to quite sweet and they are often quite juicy!

Recently they are coming out with weird fruit like grapples (apple that tastes like grapes) Pureheart watermelon (small, seedless, sweet like the center of a watermelon) and yellow skinned white cantaloupe. Those are all really good but it may just be the genetic engineering that makes the good flavor.
