Phil Hack

Post by philo~! »

Footage of me taken from a short session a month or so ago, so i thought i would put it on here. I was not particularly satisfied with my shred that day but since i probably wont be able to get anything else up for a while, will share it anyways.

The filming and editing done by my friend Anu Webster who was playing around with alot of different camera angles and things, most of the time i was very confused to what the hell he was doing, but it all came out to look pretty cool in the end :)

EDIT: http://www.footbag.org/media/648/Phil%20hack_0003.wmv <--- widescreen version

File size : 50.47mb
Length : 6:46

There is a good reason alot of people put you in their top 5 non north american/european player list, and that is it!

You rock man!

fuck yeah!

Sweet video Phil - some hardcore stuff going down and I loved the shots - I was unsure about some but overall an awesome video. I can't wait to get to shred with you one day - you have such a cool style - very tight and controlled!

Thanks heaps for the vid!

Your whirls are very controlled and your shred is good. I like a lot of your clipper moves. Are you that good with toe moves as well? Props to the video maker, although the leaf thing was pretty weird. And again, props to you for your shred skills.

You've got a great style. You play sort of like a cross between Clavens and Paakonen. Keep it up!

Hey
My first impression of the video was, WOW this is the nicest filmed footbag video I've ever seen!! I really REALLY liked the leaves...THING. It was kind of unrelated and distracting at times, but on its own I really really liked it!! ESPECIALLY the first shot!
Then the second thing I noticed was it looks like it was filmed in widescreen but exported as fullscreen...but now I'm realizing that maybe you're just really tall and skinny? Actually I'm not sure.

Actually the very first thing I thought was "this must be a newbie video", from the title "Phil hack". I don't think I've ever seen footage of you before? Phil Morrison?

The shred was ridiculous!!! My first thought on your style was that's it's really Ales-esque, and now I think it also looks a bit like Felix. Probably moreso like Felix. Wow. That was so long and intense -- I will have to watch this one over a load of times to get everything good out of it :D Props!!!! Let's see some more recent footage now? ;)

Yeah nice runs Phil, I always enjoy watching someone play with good control (which you have). Nice runs, I especially liked the PS whirl > spinning osis both sides, they looked effortless.

Phil is and always has been very very good at footbag :).

You have a good eye Erik, it was indeed filmed in widescreen and then exported as fullscreen lol. If you want the widescreen version (which was the origional and was 10mb long instead of 6:46 and has alot more arty shots in it and stuff) then you should contact Phil on msn or PM him and maybe he will let you see it ;).

Thanks for all the great feedback guys :)

Not quite blurry torque bsos, and i think it was frontside atomsmasher b2b(not sure what it is called?)

Upon Mr. Chans request i have re-exported the video as widescreen so looks more normal now!

Hopefully I will be able to get some more footage in the near future, but the only way i can get access to a camera is from Anu as he is doing a film course, but he is very busy!!

Thanks again,
Phil

I loved this video!

Your atomic and flailing sets are perfect. Ever tried some sailing stuff? I bet you could hit a 4 dex with that set.

I HAVE to comment on this video. I just woke up and watched it, my body is still in sleep mode, and I want to shred, HARD !! It doesn't really matter that you weren't 'on' for that day, but we got to see some recent shred from you. The first thing I notice is your rhythm, you have wonderful style and rhythm, very powerful. It's a combination of many pro Europeans (felix, vasek, ales, etc.) , don't get an ego trip over that, but that's what I saw.

Fiming was great, I agree at times it was distracting, but at times it was perfect. It's always a fine line between those two, somethign I've learned with filming and editing. Definitely a great edit for a one session vid, I loved it. The music, intensity, editing , that shit was just fresh *frick -- frickity* freeesh !

Yeah and i get to play every week with this guy! :D Im downloading it now can wait to see it! He definitely plays like Vasek from what I get to see esp. the little things he does like stepovers and all the whirls/ swirls you see in Vaseks vids. I plan to be cooler than him by getting an insane move involving cloud stalls inspired by my hero Jordan Moir hahahahah
