I think Vasek has a crazy clipper game cos of his ankles and hard work, but look at his toe based game. It's still pretty awesome and i guess it shows how much effort and other natural skills he may have. I guess the only sets i havent seen him do are fairies, but he is awesome at everythign else.

Jesus, I've never really payed close attention to how much some people can twist their ankles. Man, mine do not twist anywhere near that far. I think my problem with osis is that my damn feet are not turned enough, I'll need to do some streches and really work on that. It has to be possible to gain some flexablilty in that area.
Today is what you make it. So, like, don't screw up the recipe. ^^

It is possible to make them flatter, but seriously hard. Dan Ednie said something like "you can stretch them and flex them as much as you want but it will only make them about half a millimetre flatter". I think the best thing you could do is school your clippers, osis and maybe try holding the bag in a frigid osis position for around a minute each foot. Don't force your ankles though, otherwise they will become sore.

(this happened to me  )
Hopefully back one day.

Well, it's kinda true. We're talking about a physical attribute here, not about any sort of learned skill. No matter how I work at it, I'll never be six feet tall. Ankle crank is something that can be developed to a point, but I think that most experienced freestylers are already near the peak of that developement.

Do you remember how hard it was to make the clipper position when you started? And how easy it is now? At a certain point, which will vary from person to person, the bones just start getting in the way.

Are there any real strong spinning players without a big crank? Felix and Ricky come to my mind as probably the best spinners in the world, and they've both got pretty good crank, I think.

I'm now going to break my both ankles and then get 'em grow so that I can walk on my outsoles.

Vasek's ankles are crazy, but he's also friggin' fast and he's got strength.

Yeah i guess your right, some people i noticed when they start playing footbag have a masssive crank in their ankles and they can barely do clippers.

But hey, i know this guy had this massive crank, and hes been playing for almost 1 year now and he still can hit clipper well... he is very weak tiltless so i guess that its not just ankle flexibility that matters.

The muscles that make crank happen can be strengthend causing more crankage.

I am going to start the best thread ever and I will link to it when I have.

Namely your inner calf, WOW! Just cranking your ankle as much as you can while in a clipper position and holding it for a bit will tear up that muscle real good. Notice how shapely Vasek's calves are, too?

Ya, Ales I don't think you need any more crank with the stepping and stuff you've already got going.

I don't think it's about needing it. No matter how good you are, a better crank will give you a bigger margin of 'uncleanliness' of your clippers

yeh if ur thinking of strengthening ur lower leg muscles to get a better crank, you would have to work on the 'tibialis anterion' which is the muscle on the shin, and thats the muscle that u mostly use for the crank. But i dont really know if calf raises has a big affect on it because i can flex my shin muscles more than doing calf raises.
So if u looking to get better shin muscle, then we gotta find out a good exercise to build it up!

Last night I was watching msnbc because they had a special segment about Lance Armstrong, the biking equivalent to Vasek. He has been smoking everyone else for 6 years now.

What this special was about was Lance Armstrong's anatomy. How his body works compared to the average person. They found out that Lance's body from birth gave him a huge advantage over other people when it came to any physical activity.

His heart is 1/3 larger than the average person, giving him the ability to pump more blood each beat than the rest of the population. His resting heart only beats on average 32 beats per minute!

His lung capacity is over twice that of a normal healthy man. Meaning every breath he takes is like you taking two breaths.

Lastly and this is what I think Vasek might have, Lance Armstrong produces less lactic acid and metabolizes the lactic acid he does produce better than the average person. Lactic acid is what is released in your muscles when your muscles work beyond their capacity. This lactic acid is what makes you sore after you footbag hard and when it is released your muscles can't continue to work as strong as before. So Lance Armstrong can keep pedaling at full strength long after all the other bicyclists are slowing down.

I think this could be how Vasek could play for so long, then get up the next day and play the same amount. His genes might be allowing him to work harder long after all of us are complaining about our sore muscles.

I dunno, something to ponder I guess.

And Lance's thigh bones are much longer than the average man.

And Lance is like all the other bikers : Impotent...

Lol I wouldn't waste that for success and popularity...Those bikers are all insane and I think there isn't one of 'em who isn't using illegal stuff to get faster....

about Vasek: I think that everybody can learn to be as good as he is...Of course I do also think that he is a natural and that it would take a fair amount of time to get as good as he is but on top of his birth given ability to shred like a monster he is sure practising a lot...And I don't care if I never get as good as he is (actually how could I being older and having started later :D) it's cool enough to watch him shred....really admire his style etc...
