Hey Red, can you give me more details as to where the tournament is at in Portland? Some pictures would be cool. Is there also a schedule of events lined up?

I'm pretty sure there are no events. There will be "a show" but I think thats invite only. Though I realy don't know anything at all. Red is one stealth mofo!

By "schedule of events," I mean what is on the agenda those days. I really don't care about comptetition, I'm just wondering if there is some sort of agenda for then, kinda like we had at MFJ 2.

Well I am of course there. Already talked to red about it, but I thought I would formally announce on the forum since I haven't been posting in a while. Will there be any crash space for me an my girlfriend? We are going to the beck concert on Sat. night, but we are staying for both days.

Hey,
The event is basically one big jam. The schedule is this; Saturday, people are going to arrive at the site around 11am. We are going to kick all day for the most part. I am encouraging people to come to town early, Portland is a great place to kick it. Saturday night, there will be a party at Noah's house, starting around 10pm on to who knows when. Sunday, we are going to kick it off later, about 1pm, and shred all day long. It is a pretty loose schedule. I have duel goals with this event; one, I want people to come out and have a good time, shred and take it easy, vacation style. Secondly though, this year is a test run for next year, John, myself, and Chris Seibert have been discussing expanding the US Open net tournament to include freestyle, thus possibly creating an actual "Nationals" tournament for this country. I think a nationals is neccessary now, even if worlds comes back in two years, it will not stay in the states, and after that probably will not be back for 3-4 years. Like almost every other country, we need our own national tournament now. Anyway, we are throwing around the idea. John and Chris are all for it, as is the rest of the Sole Purpose posse (net and freestyle). Anyway, again, if anyone has any questions, please let me know. See you at the shred!

I hit about 300 guiltless contacts the other day and plan on having much fun sharing all my practice drills and supplements with everyone.

Wow, I am pretty excited about the turn out for this event. This is an update:

Due to the much larger attendance list then I previously expected, we are moving the location of the jam to a larger site. This location is even more visable and located.

Colonel Summers Park
1925 SE Taylor
Portland, OR 97214

Essentially, this is SE 20th and Belmont, right in the middle of Portland. It's very easy to find, I recommend http://www.mapquest.com the location. It is a straight shot from the I-5 highway to the park.

We look forward to having everyone here next weekend. It will be nice to see old friends and meet some new faces. I look forward to shredding and kicking it with everyone! See you next weekend.

Oh yeah,
Also, Noah's house and my house are getting pretty booked up. If you have a car, we have one more location for crashing, it is at Jake Wren's house, about 15 minutes away. He would be happy to put people up.

Otherwise, again, I highly recommend that hostel in SE Portland. It is in the same neighborhood as the site. I will also provide the location of the closest most cost effective hotel momentarily.
