Making My First Footbag

I started making my first footbag about a week ago. I am about half way done with it. Its one of the Soccer Ball pattern ones. It has taken a REALLY long time so far. I got my panel template from that page on Footbag.org. There was a problem with it though; the pattern was way too small. I'm going to go ahead and finish it, but It will be really small. I am going to find a place to host the images, and I will post on here again with a link to the pictures of the bag so far.

I wouldnt really start making a 32 panel if i were you. Ive only just started stitching also and cant get my head around a 32 panel, but im working my way up with 4s and 12s.
Get some stitching skill and some experience with the lower number panel bags and youll find your first 32 a lot easier.
But good job if youre deciding to go for it.

Yeah, the guy's right about starting out with easier projects, you need to learn how to crawl before you can walk, and then run. Making a 32 panel is a dead sprint...you need to work on some 4, 8, and 12 panels before you get up to the high stakes lol. And as for the pattern coming out too small, it might be because you didn't resize it. You need to have to the pattern print out so the line that has the words "ONE INCH" above it is exactly ONE INCH - very important.

But yeah, stick with the beginner bags first, then move onto the advanced ones, you'll get less of a headache

And btw
Im halfway through this 12 panel and ive learnt so much stuff. My first bag or so i had lots of troubles, like not being able to tie knots close enough to the fabric meaning the gathering would come out. The type of stitching that gathers better, how to tie knots with less amount of string...
I know all these now.
Its still taking me forever too, i would hate to be sat there thinking "Ooh, only 20 panels left. Jesus"

If you feel up to a 32 panel by all means go for it, But just dont get discouraged if you cant get it quiet yet. It takes alot of practice and patience and ofcourse trial and error, Just start out with some smalls panel bags.. Seeing how they are made, What it takes to make them etc... How you like to stitch etc... Then go for a 32 panel

I really wish I would have started with a four panel or something. Then it would have been a lot easier to correct mistakes, but like I said, I am already half way through the 32 panel. It isn't turning out too bad. I found a place to host pictures of the bag, but I haven't got the pictures onto my computer from my digital camera. I will do that soon.

looking allright.. weird fabric though.
as far as stiching goes, it took me 3 tries to get my 14 perfect... 1st was a mess, 2nd was cool but tshirts. then the 3rd is my best bag. the 4th is quite nice... as you can see from my avatar...

and now, since i got my stitching perfect(well for me it's perfect), i'm doing a 32... it'll be done tomorow i think... i keep saying that but it's a bit longer than i thought. i got 1 more section to attach and i'm done. wooo
