The day I was supposed to go downtown to get my plane tickets started out fairly, but soon, things took a turn for the worst. I got up in the morning and since I had to wait for my dad to come home so that he could take me downtown to grab the tickets, I decided that there was nothing better to do than to watch all of the footbag videos on my computer. After starting the Footjam04 video on my computer, I went to the refrigerator to see if I can find a drink. I soon realized that I had nothing left to drink and was just thinking “Oh no,” when suddenly, I heard a huge crash coming from the living room and heard a loud “Ohhhh yeaahhhhh!”

I rushed into the living room as fast as I could and saw that the Kool-Aid guy had just burst into my house, demolishing the living room wall in the process.

“Ohhhh yeaahhhhh,” said the Kool-Aid guy.

I said, “Oh no, oh no…what were you thinking coming through the wall like that?!! It’s not cool to do that; coming through the front door is cool! Now, we better clean this up before my dad gets home; he’s not going to believe that a talking bowl of punch came in here!!

So, angrily, I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to clean up all the debris lying on the floor and the Kool-Aid guy did some magic and fixed the wall right back up. I hoped that that incident would be the only bad one that day, but it turned out that I was wrong about that. Very wrong…

As I sat down to watch some TV, I heard a loud Crack outside on the street; I had no clue what happened but when I looked out the balcony, I saw that there was a man lying face down and unconscious in the middle of the street. I don’t know why none of the neighbors responded, but I quickly ran down to see if the man needed any help. When I got down there, he started stirring and noticed me rushing toward him. He then proceeded to tell me a tale of a distant world that was coming to take over Earth and that he was the only one who knew about it.

“I’m not going to be around for much longer, so listen carefully,” he said. “You need to travel to that world and try to stop the oncoming evil. Once you get there, you will be surprised by what you see, but don’t let that distract you. Here, use this footbag; it will transport you to that world when you roll it around in your hands three times. And remember, the secret to beating the enemy is to…is too…”

And right there, in the middle of the street, he shuddered as all life left his body. As I stared at him for a second that lasted an eternity, trying to comprehend everything that he had just told me, I realized that I must carry out his last wish and try as hard as I can to defeat this enemy he had told me about. So, I took out the footbag that he gave me and rolled it three times in my hands. I waited holding my breath but nothing happened! I just stood there thinking that he might have given me the wrong object or that he was just pulling my leg when I felt a pull and suddenly, I was sucked into a dark void where I couldn’t breathe and felt as if the pressure was going to crush my body.

(the dark void)

After another moment, my feet hit solid ground in the middle of a vast city. This did not surprise me as much as the appearance of the inhabitants did. I let out a cry of surprise as I saw that the inhabitants were all footbags as large as humans on Earth. Every one of them seemed to be kicking something and as I looked around, confused out of my mind, I saw a large banner that said WORLD KICKBAG CHAMPIONSHIPS. I thought that this was something footbag related, but when I got closer to the giant footbags, I noticed that they were kicking tiny little humans instead of footbags. This surprised and shocked me very much and then, I remembered what the dying man told me. He told me to not let my surprise distract me. I quickly ran into an alley off the street and I was pulled into a door by a pair of hands. I saw humans! They told me that the giant footbags were taking over the planet miniaturizing all humans in the process and that they were trying to build up a rebellious force and told me about the giant footbag leader who had to be killed before the giant footbags would crumble into dust and fade away.

I decided that I would try challenging the giant footbag leader and, despite the others’ attempts at trying to change my mind, I stepped out and walked into a circle of footbags and asked them to take me to their leader. I noticed that one of the footbags was kicking around Honza and was very adept at blenders. One of the footbags led me to their leader, who, I was not surprised to see, was kicking Vasek around and was going tripless and fearless easily! Before I even challenged him, I knew that I would not succeed, but I also knew that I had to try! So, I challenged him to a duel, a game of HORSE where he does a trick and I have to hit the same trick or get a letter. This game lasted more than an hour, as I got to start and he was just hitting the tricks that I hit with a bored look on his face. I was already up to the letter S while he only had the letter H. I dropped the bag on one of the tricks that I was about to perform and then, as the giant footbag leader picked Vasek up, I knew that there was a way that I could destroy him! I didn’t care about winning anymore, so I half-heartedly attempted the whirlwind that he had hit and proceeded to get my final letter E, which means that he wins.

As he bent down to pick up his Vasek “bag,” I quickly lifted my leg and tried a toe pickup on the giant footbag. An audible gasp rose from the crowd of footbags surrounding us as I saw that I had ripped seam in the giant footbag. With an earsplitting scream, the leader crumbled and evaporated into the air. All around me, all the footbags did the same as well. Deciding that my job here was done, I pulled out the footbag that the dying man gave me and I rolled it around in my hand three times. But this time, nothing happened!! With increasing panic, I realized that I was stuck here in this distant world forever! There was no way that I would make it back to Earth in time for Footjam05; as I realized this, I could not help but let a scream erupt from my dry mouth!

I've been injured for a year and a half.
I have no money, and will need loans for school...
I was in school taking summer courses and simultaneously teaching a footbag workshop for a week during my finals, which I forfeited studying in order to teach footbag.

Well I got up that morning to go and I took a shower before I got to the Airport, and I have long hair so I put a towel around my head. I get to the airport and I forgot about the towel. So I am about to board the plane and they spot me with this towel on my head and they claim that they saw my lips say "BOMB" but really I was just talking to my "MOM". Then as I put my bag in the metal detector it went off like crazy becuase all the metal shot in my footbags. Then they saw this buldge in my pocket because of my choice footbag. So that was the last straw and they swarmed me and took me to jail. So now I am sitting in jail next to Sadam. Oh Sadam says hi to the footbag community.

And that is why I couldnt go...

I couldent go because I live in antartica and a plane only visits here once a year, and it happened to be the day after footjam finished!
I tried to swim, but I got frozen in the middle of a 20m squared ice cube and floated on back to home base where they tried to thore me out, which took ages :(.

I think i have gone through the most physical and mental anguish, I deserve the T-shirt ;)
