Shredding with a mp3/ipod?

What do you think of shredding with an ipod or another kind of mp3stick?

What about the headphones and the cable to them ?

What about the sound and the shocks?

What other things are important before buying one ?

here are my tips (i posted something similar in C-Fan`s blog):

- you'll want either a player with a TIGHT CLIP or shorts that has some kind of velcroing pocket you can close, preferably on the back.

- I suggest puting the player in your back pocket if you have one, or clipping ot to the back if you can

- run the headphone cable along your back, not your front

- wearing a t-shirt keeps the headphone cable out of the way also.

- I've never had a problem with my mp3 player skipping while playing (and it's an old mp3 player).

I would suggest getting an iPod Flea. They seem extremely portable and good for shred.

Woahh iPOD flea. Looks kinda over the top, just like the iPOD laser which I saw at the shop the other day (plug it into the top of your iPOD and you get a laser)

I have an iTRIP i just crank up my radio and I'm good to shred.

Back on the subject, you could try sticky taping the cord to your back or chest like the cops do when they're wired.

hey, i use my ipod when i shred sometimes. i got an arm band from best buy, it works really well. the brand is dlo.

I jsut wear my shiffle on a piece of string and it works great.

If it wasn't so anti-social, I would shred in circles wearing the mp3 player. The loudness of the music and the impact of the bass can't be beat from any speaker system I've seen at a kick site*.

*Steve's shred room might come close, but costs considerably more than an ipod shuffle.

I just got an Ipod shuffle. I think the best way to attach it to yourself is putting it undernath the back of your shirt and clipping it to your shorts.

I just wear it under my shirt, it doens't weigh enough to start moving around and the shirt keeps the cord out of my way.

yeah i use my ipod when shredding. I just put the cord in my shirt and clip the ipod to the back of my shorts. works really well for me.

Get a Sandisk, they come in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB forms. They're uber small, and the 1 gig only costs around 100 bucks, 512 is like 80 bucks, and that's as much as I need. This is what I use and I love it, no glitches with it thus far.

I don't know about hard disk players like the iPod, but flash memory players run smooth even through a heavy shake of the hand.
