I think you can shred to any thing that has a feel or beat to it

Like Rap and Hip Hop is really good for that, but not always my choice of music

for me its any music that I feel, it actually does give me more energy - like some alternative stuff - punk - metall

i have to feel it emotionally, then i will bust

I listen to some hip hop / rap like J5, NWA, or Sage Francis, some Rock like Rage Against the Machine (I still don't know exactly what genre they are, but I think they're supposed to be rock), and some techno-type stuff like Daft Punk or the Analogue Album.
