Shred Spots

Post by bigdirtyfoot »

Okay, list your favorite areas to shred for the following categories:

1. Day/Outside
2. Night/Outside
3. Day/Inside
4. Night/Inside

1. Addville, NC (Our old high school)
2. Tennis Courts (Bright lights available)

And the main reason I posted this topic: I'm looking for a good place indoors to play when it is too hot, raining, or nighttime and the tennis courts are being used. We don't have access to an empty garage, or a YMCA that will let us in. I thought about sneaking into churches late at night and using their space, but I'd rather find a legal public place.

Please help! And also list your favorite spots. :wink:

A lot of malls remain open even after all the stores are closed (doors unlocked, everything). I've done that one before; you should check it out.

Edit: That's for Night/Inside, anwyay. Usually I just kick in my house for inside, so I don't think I can help you there.

Yeah, when it rains or hails i like to go under a gazebo or porch or my garage and play while it's raining hard.

Oh, and as a reference, I live 5mins from the gym, and the guy I kick with (Adam Fox), lives 5 mins from the squash court.

And Jesse Malouf (*Jethro*) lives at Lat 27°34'48.00"S Long 153°18'0.00"E

Super newbie posting here. I have yet to kick in a circle but this is where i normally practice.

1. Day/Outside normally either on my driveway on my porch or most of the time on my deck beside my pool in my backyard. Unfortunatly once i kicked my bag into the pool and had to jump in to get it out.

2. Night/Outside i havent yet kicked outside at night

3. Day/Inside Normally in my living room upstairs. Its pretty open and with big windows all around for nice sunlight to get in.

4. Night/Inside Normally in my basement. Its better lit at night than my living room. A little more cluttered but i dont do freestyle much yet so that doesnt matter.

sorry...had to post that there because i couldn't remember which was which.

For 1. i like to shred in the street outside my house, or there is a really ncie Gazebo that we like to play in right in our town park. You could easily fit a 5 person circle, with room for a CD player and such. They even have electrical sockets, and a water spout, so they can water the plants. It works for 2. too because they ahve lights, although they aren't the brightest.

For 3 and 4, we used to shred in my barn. We cleared it all out and got some really nice rugs. The lighting was awesome, and it was nice and cool in there during the day. It was nice to get out of the sun if we were stuck at my house...but then we started doing work to our house because we are selling it, and the carpenters took over our srhed spot :( and its still a mess from junk from our house...but its alright.

Really for me, it's whenever. :)

I like to kick around in the house, outside the house... just wherever someone wants to play...

1. Day/Outside -> City Hall / Legislature Park / Tennis courts
2. Night/Outside -> Whyte Ave Gazebo / West Edmonton Mall Silvercity
3. Day/Inside -> YMCA
4. Night/Inside ->

How ShrEdmonton is setup with YMCA is we come in on friday night "teen nights" and provide an extra activity for teens (who tend to just stand around). In return we get free shred space. University campuses also work quite well for all of the above ^
