First day of Euros started today and since I'm not there I'm dieing to know what's been going down

Euro people right your reports here

I've heard a little bit from my contacts (deep throat etc.): this is what I've heard so far:

Felix hit a beast in qualifying for sick 3
Vasek hit fairy ripstein>baroque>ripped warrior but the baroque was the.
Some 12 year old kid from poland had a very good intermediate routine with some stepping stuff in it and looked strong.
Steve Goldberg lost a footbag playing foursquare.

Random Fins were busting big combos (I think you just have to expect that at Euro events these days

)

yesterday i saw vasek hit Flurry>double down swirl rpt from 4 feet away

my routine and shred30 were fucking woeful as expected, hope you never see them

comp is running well i think, sometimes late tho

Euros are really insane, there are something like 180 players registered, today the Open eliminations took the whole day. There some really crazy stuff beeing hit, for example:

Vasek - Spinning Superfly > Leviathan, 8 Superflys, PS Whirl > Symp Whirl in Shred30 (

), Scorpion's Tail > Symp. Whirling Swirl in Shred30 as well, one drop routine with 4 different 6adds or something like that (Montage as well).

I think there will be more to report tommorow.

WHAT? WHEN?

Why didnt I see those??? I only saw Vasek warming up before his competitions. And twice in a circle.

NEWS:

I've met lots of people that I've only heard a name from or seen on Modified.
I bought a new footbag from Tom Mosher.
I played with Karim from Switzerland. He is really good. Props to him!
Honza hit Blurry Torque > Food Processor.
I like Dylan Fry's style. I met his little brother too (charles).
I taught a walkover to a little polish boy.
Dexter's routine was cool.
There were a lot of polish players (of course). Some of them were really crazy. But I don't remember their names...

I met Steve Goldberg and we played a lot of 4square with him and a bunch of other players (ales and cod). Steve goldberg is really good at it!!

right after watching the routines i also held the opinion that felix should have placed first before honza and vaclav.

now i have seen them again on video, and i have changed my mind! it looked to me like the results were okay, in a way. the result definitely is disputable.

that just shows that there can be a huge gap between the opinion (rather feeling) you have after watching the routines live and seeing them again in a completely different surrounding.
watching live i got blown away by the energy and intenseness of felix' routine, but on video i realized that vasek definitely had the harder tricks and combos and also not bad of a choreography.

so what should count? how much a routine makes your heart beat faster, or what it looks like when you look at it, trying to be objecitve with a analytical view?

the first impression counts much much more to me, since it is a routine which is performed live to a live audience.
also, if vaseks choreography was so good, the audience would have noticed that. however felix routine was celebrated much more.
also lots of vaseks hard tricks were "the" and he was very very nervous.
the result is definetely disputable, but i think it would have been fair to let felix win. this way i had the feeling vasek won only because of being vasek.
anyways his semi-finals routine was off the hook, he would have won with that one easily.
