Bishops newbie footblog

Post by Bishop »

I figured i wouldn't start one of these suckers up until i knew i would be making decent progress. So here we go.

Im pretty new to the game. Only a few weeks. So far i've only been practicing kicks and stalls, mostly on the inside. I can kick on the outside but i cant toe kick yet. I can toe and inside stall but i havent hit outside stall or clipper stall.

My current records are 15 inside alternating kicks and 5 inside alternating stalls. See... newb eh?

Well today I've shredded (am i allowed to say shredded when i dont actually do tricks yet???) for about half an hour and i plan to do more later tonight. Today I've mostly been practicing stalls. I want to school inside and toe stalls before i start working on clippers. I've yet to hit a clipper on the few tries ive done so far. For the first little bit i worked on right foot to left foot to right foot... inside stalls. Just seeing how many in a row i could get. Normally ill hit 2-3 but i have hit 4 a fair number of times and 5 once or twice. I wont be happy with them until i get around 25-30ish. After that got boring i practiced my right foot toe and inside stalls a little. I would go from inside stall to toe stall and back on the right foot. I only did this for like 10 mintues but i hit around 6 or 7 most times.

I think tonight ill work more with my left foot inside and toe stalls. And then try to break my kicking record of 15. Lets see how it goes.

Nice to say you made a blog. I like seeing others' progress.

You can say shredded if you want, because as long as your aim is the same as any other freestyle, it doesn't matter what your ability is.

Hey Stephen,

Do you kick with any other of the Winnipeg guys like Erik Chan, Andrew Grant, or Derek Vandall?

Well Derek Vandall is one of my good friends from back in Highschool. I've seen him shred in person a few times. Its because he looks soo cool when he shreds why i started to play. I've talked a bit online with Andrew Grant and Eric Chan but i haven't been to shred with them yet. I really want to but i work a lot so thats been difficult. Hopefully soon we can all get together.

I did end up shredding tonight. I went for maybe 45mins-1hour. I practiced mostly kicking inside alternating. Unfortunatly i didnt break my record of 15. I hit 14 once, 11 twice and 10 6 or 7 times. My overall consistancy has improved though. Before i normally hit 3-4 kicks, with anything higher being luck, but tonight i found i was hitting 5-6 kicks. Near the end it was hard to hit two so i figured i was tired and i quit for the night
