ShrEdmonton 2005

Post by qphox »

ShrEdmonton Freestyle Assembly 2005. 86 Mb, encoded in DivX.

This video is mostly shred, and there's not much from the competition...competition footage will be up when I have time to deal with it.

Hope you enjoy.

Oh, and unfortunately I got little to no footage of Saskatoon's own David Purdy ripping it up. It really sucks, I know.

But if you listen real close, maybe you can *hear* him....

Brett's game is dope. His ducks look a lot tighter without all that hair.

It worked for me :)

It's saved as a div x movie - so you need div x to play it I guess and it should be fine!

Awesome video Kevin! Scrumptious!!

Great editing - everything looked really good. Also the footage was pretty awesome. It's so great to see footage of Brett Cambell - he has killer style and there's so little footage of him around. Also great to see footage of Andrew Grant - totally representing! Actually all the footage was great. Wow, Radiative set is pretty fucking sweet too!

Looks like a really fun tournament, I think you captured it well!

Cheers!

Hey, Andrew, my fellow Mac user -- download mplayer (http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/). I can run it just fine with that but not QuickTime.

Wow dude, that video was just awesome, so I had to post.

Radiative set? Is that what spinning nuclear is called? I thought about that a long time ago, and said "neh, that's clearly not possible." I am just speechless.

Nice editing and music. I love the little special effects you threw in there.

Oh yeah, and that net player had some killer style. Thanks so much for the vid.

www.divx.com you can get a free divx player that will play that file.

ZOMG! That was brilliance! Kevin your editing is really getting tight! Damn!
So much sickness in that video, I am going to have to PM about 10 people to ask if I can use segments of that for their sick3/1 ;)

On Radiative set: Yeah, there was totally two cameras going at the time that he hit that, but he spun slightly out of frame of the other (WHICH WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN THE DEX.)

We were pretty diappointed about that, but despite the poor angle, I decided to include it anyway.

Thanks for the comments.

edit: OH NO I just realised that I didn't put text into Jess's sick string near the end!

Well, just imagine "Jessica Archer" appearing there in some interesting way...all the text bits were totally just me experimenting with all the video effects anyway. ;)

Aaaaaand, yeah, Erik Chan. I figure some of you are probably wondering. Well at ~ 4am one evening, I was chatting with Erik on msn...telling him how hard I was grooving to this tune playing on my comp:

"blah blah dancing!"
"blah dance blah?"
"blah blah dance Erik."
"blah."
"blah film blah blah robot!"
"k!"

That's pretty much how it went down.
He really was present in spirit. ;)

Aaaaaaaaand, did anyone hear Dave? ;)

this page has a "mac OS preview relase" I dunno if that would work for you?
There will be a player for mac you can use, just google search 'mac divx player'... or do mac's not even have google yet? ;)

Nice video. Good to see some footage of some players that don't feature often in vids. Good editing as well. Very good actually.

nah nah, it's all good i found a mplayer version for mac0SX10.3.9 which worked for me. i don't know why the mac divx codec didn't work but, meh, i saw the video! first up, awesome work kevin! that video is tight! really gave you a feel for what went down! there needs to be more campbell footage! he's got such great style, and he's a super fun guy to kick with! alos, i though rory's part was kick ass! joes big walk was uber clean. he's a badass shredder too. improves so damn fast! i hope he had a good time. kevin's part was awesome toe links and i really liked the pixie ss dblswitch mid string. lacking in clippers, but rest assured he does them! byrin's part was full of phatness! i really liked it. super props to you on the spinning matador. i'm sure it was clean! nice run at the end by jess! cool stuff!

Yay!

Wicked video. I'm really glad I attended ShrEdmonton this year!

In viewabicular order:
I liked Andrew's fury on the beat, Brett's full symp tap, Kevin's TATW, Joe's bigwalk, Byrin's spinning atomic thingy, Rory's paradon?, Ben's swirl, and Jess' string at the end.

All around awesome shred and editing (i liked the name effects!). Big thanks to Kevin for putting this together. :)

Editing was top notch. As for the shred, what can I say? PS DLO was really nice, as was bigwalk and the radiative set.

COOL!
