Bestest Guitar Riffs
Was just listening to Faith No More's 'Ashes to Ashes' and got to thinking about great guitar riffs in music.
Another would be Deftones 'My Own Summer (Shove It)'. And how about Tool's 'Aenema'? Anyone heard Something For Kate's 'Captain Million Miles An Hour'? Soundgarden's '4th of July'...
What are your favorite guitar riffs?

This is not exactly a riff as much as a solo, but.....
On Dream Theater's Live Album, John Petrucci does like a 12 min. solo that is INSANE! He's such a sick guitarist and his music is (to quote Napoleon) SWEET.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

My dad played in a band with Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and is friends with him and my dad's friend is good friends with John Petrucci. Sick Band. Petrucci alone could fill this thread.professor wrote:This is not exactly a riff as much as a solo, but.....

And the bestestest bassline riff would be Winona's Big Brown Beaver from
Primus..

wow...I want to go back to footbag.
Anyways, I think that in essence, any Iommi, Clapton, Randy Rhoads, and I'd even have to say some of today's guitarists...like Satriani, Vai and Malmsteen. Obviously, Petrucci HAS to be in this...he's a freakin' virtuoso.
But i think that some songs live even have amazing solos...Keith Richards, for example, he has great solos in the cd Flashpoint....
and oh yeah Unearth's The Oncoming storm....geez I could possibly go on forever but this is what comes to my mind at 8 in the morning.
