i think its all a big joke...like the thread title...'Jeremy does like the USA' could mean is he is 'doing like the usa' or emulating actions of the united states; since he is constantly claiming that the US is a bullshitting organization, so to be doing as the USA, he is bullshitting. yes, a bit of a reach
but seriously. sarcasm...someone hijacking his forum name...something....

Henry what are you talking about - Jeremy and I are trying out new lifestyles!
He's actually on a flight to my hometown right now to stay with me for a couple of weeks. And I sold my horn and all of my jazz records. These threads are about the new lifestyle we're choosing. Please respect that.
Henry's right.

Its all so clear to me now
YOU SAUSAGE US.
I particularly find this form of subliminal messaging heinous and distasteful. Sausage is not to be taken as a joke-- it is a serious worldwide epidemic.

The US is fighting a war or terrorism. Remember 9/11 and all those innocent people who died? Terrorism is clearly evil and devised by evil people. Anybody who suppports terrorism must also be evil and has given up their rights to freedom. Lets be realistic too. Locking up potential terrorists could save the lives of millions if they got their hands on a nuclear weapon from the former Soviet republic. Taking away one persons freedom to save a million lives in the fight against evil sounds like the right thing to do to me.
Would you rather see a million people die?

I see your point, but...
To use Iraq as an example, over 200 people were killed in suicide bombings in Iraq last weekend! That's more than 4 times that of the London bombings. Before the USA invaded Iraq there was no such thing.
How is the USA able to justify this? Really?
And then there was Dresden where so many more thousand people were killed when Allies firebombed the city.
Is 9/11 really an accurate justification?
Wouldn't the USA have made a more stonger point against terror if they'd refused to be dragged into the 'Gihad'? Wouldn't it have made a better impression on the terrorists and the world if they'd increased aid and education in those countries that needed the help, not the bombs?

Dresden wasn't justified by 9-11 - although maybe in hindsight it could have been. 9-11 was justified by Dresden as it shows that the US can pwn any civilian n00bs in any conutry with their l33t bombs and stuff. The terrorists had to resort to hax0ring to get any points.
If the US followed the pinko lefto communist tree hugging propaganda of anti American terrorist supporters like Gareth then the terrorists would feel they get benefits from terrorism and would continue to do it. All the poor countries in the world would start terrorist campaigns so they could get more food and better education. Instead terrorism brings them death and destruction. Like when the whole class gets kept in because one kid did the wrong thing and won't own up to it - when the children get outside the class room they beat that kid into a bloody pulp. The people of Iraq will come to understand if they don't want to be bombed they have to do what they can to stop the evil terrorists who want to destroy our way of life and make us all godless and evil and eat dead people and stuff.
Also 200 people is only 1/15th of how many died in the 9-11 incident and if the US doesn't continue to fight the war against evil terrorists more attacks like that will happen. Under Saddam hundreds of people were killed all the time. Remember - he used chemical weapons on his own people! Things might not be much better now but at least the people have a chance of democracy and have the potential for real freedom in the near future. Before the US toppled the Saddam regime they had no hope for a better life and were forced to live in misery under the hegemony of a ruthless tyrant.
God Bless America

But wasn't most of the hardships the Iraqi people were living with due to the American embargos upon that country?
As I remember it, Iraq wanted the trade restrictions lifted so that they could feed their people, and begin to have wealth again.
But then the USA said that they wanted to look for WMD and untill they were found, no restrictions would be lifted.
So Iraq said "we have no WMD, lift the restrictions and we'll let you take a look".
And the USA said, "Screw that! We'll take a look weather you like it or not. In fact, we're coming in there right now cos we know you've got WMD."
And then the UN said, "Ummm. I don't know if I want to get involved here. I think there's another way around it."
But the USA said, "Screw you, pussies! We're going in weather you like it or not".
So Iraq had no choice but to fight against the invasion.
So, quoting your last post:

I give up. You win Gareth
Actually I can think of a few arguements that real pro Americans would use - food for oil, corruption in the UN and with Saddam - need for change etc. but obviously this whole topic was a joke and while it's definitly fun to argue for the US, I worry that my arguements are so convincing that I'll convert people
. No actually that's not true - people who get converted by that dogmatic crap would be converted by somebody else anyway.
Gareth you did argue well though - props!
