Ok, so it was just Foxy and I at the Monday night shred. No Caroline - no supprise.
I was pretty keen to play after the shitty morning I'd had at work (although it got better) so, dispite the knee twinge I was feeling, I was keen to bust big.
Foxy had got in early, so we started early. However, things started slow. Just schooling the basics.
When we started getting going, howver, it felt to me that it wasn't going to be anything special. We'd had some supurb sessions in the past with our last one being with Jesse and Alex. That was Wednesday, and with no session untill the Monday night, it was the longest break we'd had between sessions.
But, as I said, I was keen - and so was Foxy.
So we kept playing as the Piazza filled with more and more people - jugglers, twirlers and poi(ers?). On a buisy night it can be dangerous playing with all that shit flying around - but we established our circle and played.
So, what was hit?
Me: Flail (I've been trying flail for as long as I can remember. It's been on the cards for about 3 years now, and I've never hit it... untill Monday night!).
As you may know, I've been trying variations of PS whirl... well, lately I've been trying Pdx Flail and... I nailed it!
No doubts about either.
So, that spurred on Foxy. His reply went something like Kick, kick, kick, kick, clipper, BLURRY FUCKING DYNO!, toe, blah blah!
I was blown away. Blurry Dyno came from nowhere. Foxy had been trying it for a while, but I was not expecting him to try it just then, let alone hit it. Again, it was super clean.
And then... Barrage on the thrid attempt. Absolutely no doubt about the dexes. Super deep, and easily hit and sealed.
Finally, he also managed to hit swirling dragon, but failed to seal it.
It was a good night, after all.

Kiser_Tobias: There are several ways you can fix a hole in your footbags.
1) If it's a tiny hole, a very small amount of super-glue should fill it up.
2) If the hole is bigger you can apply some surgical sticky-tape (ask in pharmacies) this stuff is incredible
3) if the hole is huge you can always stitch a new panel over the pierced one.
edit: spelling

I've decided I don't like playing in front of a camera, it changes the way I play and destroys the flow of the game.
Last night was more of a schooling session than anything I've expreienced since getting back into the game. Even my solo shred I had at the gym wasn't as bad. That's not to say that I didn't have fun. Foxy fell over twice last night and we both had tears from laughing so hard when we watched the footage again, at his place. Some good stuff was hit and some cool shit was caught on camera. The thing is, I prefer not to school so much and have noticed how much better everyone plays when "the bag only stops when it drops".
I'll have to post some of the highlights of the night. It'll only be a short vid, but there's some good laughs in there.
Anyway, like I said, we both hit some good, long runs. Some of mine included: some much improved osis; a clipper run that expands to encompass a Symp Whirl, and yet carries on again; my first Phoenix for the camera; and some other tasty goodies. Sour notes include: My pixie hand catch habit that cost me 5 push-ups a time; my 10 push-ups (I'm a quick learner); my loss of form on PS Whirl; the lack of enjoyment I got out of the session.
Foxy had me worried from about 20 minutes in. He was trying ripwalk and he tangled his feet, almost rolling his ankle. Then, maybe 10 minutes later, while trying a spinning clipper, he just topples over like a falling tree, straight onto his arse. However, with a greatly improving clipper game, Foxy's beginning to bust out more, with greater and greater runs. Also, his trick list is expanding to include: Blurry Dyno! (So close again - maybe a little slurry, but it's still early days); Smear (only needs a higher set - he's got the speed already); Swirling Dragon Osis(>SS Osis - a sweet combo that ran into an equally awesome run); and his super tight duck and diving combos.
That's pretty much it. Probably my most in-depth look at the 'Brisbane Scene' yet. I guess that will make it a good reference point in the future for how Foxy and I were playing right now.
Oh, and get the agreement written down, Foxy and I agreed to go half in the prize money, if we get the video played on Australia's Funniest Home Videos.
Video up soon.

Good times Gareth. I cant wait to see the stacks
Hmm, my day went a bit like this: Woke up at 11:30 found that no one was home. Jumped on the computer (the reason i did this is because we are on a 400mb a month dialup plan and we are already wayyyy over the limit. So the only time I can use the net is when no one is knows. Even though mum is at home now
. Apparently we are getting broadband soon. 10 gig a month. Footbag, footbag here I come. BTW, one of our coms got fixed and they managed to salvage everyone of my footbag vids except my Vasek folder
I couldnt believe it. Oh well.) yeah, were was I? Jumped on the computer till around 1:00 pm. Watching footbag vids and talking on msn.
Then I played some footbag. Did some add hunting
Footed a the maelstrom about 4 times, tried for nemesis lol. No chance. Did hit some new stuff though, not add hunters either.
Muted sunilwalker
Crispy Flurry (barraging opp legover)
Spinning Illusion (1st shot)
Got all of those on camera. I am lazy now and I need to play more.
I got back on the computer at around 2ish.
Then at 3:00 my friend picked me up and took me to the skate park where my church goes once a month. They take this big van thing and it has all xbox's and TV's and stereos. They also give out free drinks and chocolates. Luckily they had a BBQ today. ( I hadnt eaten anything all day exept 2 stagnent chips from a packet that my bro left out) So I chowed down on them. I used to skate all the time. I don't know why I stopped. I meant, I am still ok now. I can hit kickflip, 180 flip, ollie 5 stairs, sex change, some fakie stuff and a bunch of other things. I am still a very tiltless skater though, far from guiltless IMO. I started to throw a grid iron ball with a friend and he did this big ass kick and I sprinted for it attempting to kick it on the full. *Lifts leg, swings at full pace. Slips on mud right on to my ass* (It had been raining ok. I'm not that unco
Then I played "Forsem backs" with some other 2 other peeps from my church. For those of you who dont know what that is, it's a game where you have a sporting object (either for throwing or kicking). There is a center point and maybe and maybe 2 people on each side of that center point, atleast 20m or so away from that point. Then behind each team there is another point that the oposing team has to get the object over. Firstly, you throw or kick the object. If the other team catches it they get to take 5 paces (or large jumping steps) forward and kick or throw it from there. If you dont catch it, the object is played from where the ball makes contact with the person. The first team to get the object over the other teams point either wins (because it can take a while) or gets one point. My team mate and I eneded up winning. Yay. After that I went and played some socker in this cage like thing. I didn't really play soccer. Rather I flicked up the ball and just started juggling whenever it came to me. I.e. being a smart ass. Lol. Then on the way home I got a Maccas frozen coke. Damn they are good. I said to the lady who was serving "hey, can I have a supersize frozen coke?" (I was pretty thirsty) Ladie: "Sorry, we only do medium and large." Every maccas I have been to have done supersize except this one. So I got the large. Then I watched a t.v. show called monk. Its about an obsessive cumpulsive detective. Good laugh it is. After that I got on the com and talked footbag with Alex Urano. And now I am listening to the music from Jorden Moirs "hardcore Session" vid (which I d.led at school on there super fast internet and transferred home with my memory stick
) incase mum walks in so i can quickly hit "Alt+tab".
This is a pretty long post. I kind of like typing about my days. Jeremy O'Wheels blog ispired me. Maybe I will do it more often. I ordered a green and creamy white bag from him the other day. I can't till I get it.
Anyways, I'm done.

hey blog.
Got up at 7am today cause my bro had running training. I made him late. lol. School was pretty boring. I have 3 assignments now, 1 due on Thursday and the others...I dunno. Highlight of the day...My shred!
I took my lavers and bags to school hoping to shred at lunch, but instead I played handball and shredded after school. I felt so rusty so when I got home I got changed and had a schooling sesh. Every thing was feeling good except flip spinning and stepping. Didnt do too much with flip spinning, its a style thing i have to work on. Flip stepping was doing well, concidering i hit... FLIP RIPPED WARRIOR
Hell yes that felt tight. The set, the duck, the catch. Marvelous feeling. Just scooped it up then walked inside to finish the sesh.
Some other highlights were 35bops (second attempt) some long cool strings, some tight flip stepping and other stuff.
I have had this page open for about 3 hrs and all this time I have supposed to be doing my science assignment. Oh well
Just got a call from Gareth about his sesh with Foxy. Foxy sounds like he's doing well with new moves. Gareth hit some cool stuff aswell like symp whirl mid run with some phat combos. I will let him talk about the sesh anyways.
Posted money for Wheel bag today, and Jeremy posted the bag today
2 or 3 days till new bag. WOOOOOH
laterz

Hey.
No work tomorrow, so I thought I'd post in the blog.
Sounds like you're doing well, Jesse - over your injury, that's good to see.
Tonights session was a short one for a change. I know that it's a bad attitude to have, but I hate kicking with noobs and circle kickers. It's nothing personal toward the individual (even american
), it's just that it destroys the energy of the circle. It's as though it stips the enjoyment out of playing footbag, for me.
But hey, it's for the good of the sport.
The shred we did have was pretty satisfactory
. Both Adam (Fox) and I are really playing alot more than we ever did. This being our second in four days, we were rested and ready to play well. Alot of the focus was on runs and combos, tonight, with my most memorable being the longish string that included symp whirl>paradox mirage mid run. And then there's the pixie switch>tripwalk attempts that were so close, encouraging me to try other pixie>quantim combos.
Foxy was a little rusty with his spins, tonight. He was either setting the bag off, or spinning off the bag. He did manage to hit dyno beesauce, and had some nice (inspiring) runs.
I gave an american girl a ride home on the way to dropping Foxy off. She was a strange girl, really, and I ended up running a red light on the way to her place.
That's not my everyday sort of experience and it felt almost surreal. Goes to show the cave I live in, huh?

Props Gareth and Adam. You guys are doing well!
Had an OK day today. Got up at 6:30 after going to bed at 12:30. Not much sleep. Played a bit of footbag this arvo. I'm really into schooling my moves now. I think hitting new moves isn't too necessary, for where I'm at anyway. I hit strong side ripped warrior 2nd attempt today. That felt rad. I think that is my fave move I can do. I want flatter ankles. WHEEL BAD TOMORROW HOPEFULLY! Can't wait.
Told my friend to bring his shred shoes to school tomorrow so I have someone to play with. should be good (if he remembers
).
Anyways, I have a science assignment due on thursday. Better get down double to the of the bottom of the sidewalk, pixie, step, dex.
No, must not think footbag.
Assignment.
Must not watch new Vasek vids d.led at school today.
bye.

I think that's a good attitude to have right now, Jesse. Especially concidering the range of tricks you've got at the moment, you'll discover some kick arse links and variations.*Jethro* wrote:I'm really into schooling my moves now. I know what you mean, but I thought I'd pick on you a little cos you hit ripped warrior on your flipside, and I can't let your head get too big*Jethro* wrote:WHEEL BAD TOMORROW HOPEFULLY! Can't wait.

Well well well. Today was a bit of a crap day. Got up at 7:50. Had an OK day at school. No footbag today. Assignment unfinished. Due tomorrow. Well this arvo during our sport period we had a game of touch footy. A team of 6 against 6 until one of our players left making it our team of 5 against there team of 6 (and one of them actually play rugby). We got owned like 7-0. But I was getting pretty cut because as soon as someone got tagged I came up to take the ball from behind but no one came up with me. So I either had to do a massive pass or just run forward, take the tag and make it a changeover
Then people started paying me out for not passing it when they were the ones A. Not following their own advice B. Not coming forward to support me. It was pretty annoying. I did get pretty close to a try but I got tagged about a foot from the line by this fully fast dude (ironically the dude who plays rugby). I also got a big graze on my leg from sliding. Lol, I just noticed that O'Wheel posts about touch footy (or used to?). Speaking of O'Wheel, my bad didnt come today
Should be here tomorrow. I have a fuggin assignment to do.
Jesse.....OUT!

Sorry the bag hasn't arrived yet - maybe I should have sent it air mail - I guess I assumed it would go air anyway - silly me
Your express post hasn't arrived yet either - I'll send you an email about it tomorrow if it's still not here.
Quick tip for touch footy - never run from half unless you're very confident of getting through the line - better off to pass to an out of position player.

Had a quiet session with Foxy last night. It was one of those "I've had a crap day and I need to unwind by playing some footbag" sessions.
It was a pretty average night. I was feeling good but Foxy was a little distracted and wasn't playing well, partly due to the blisters on the balls of his feet.
We both had a few good runs - but not many. It was just good to play - to get another session in, this week.
