Post by Uranos »

Hi guys

Today whilst i was busking this dude from http://www.nitro-group.com

The only problem is, its in 3 weeks and i have to do it in SHanghai, whilst i live in Australia now and i have school....

My parents said i can go, but im not so sure if i want to skip school for like 1 week cos i really wanna do well in my exams..

on the goodside, the dude says "You will get paid alot, over 2 grand at least..."

You MUST do the add. Your teachers WILL understand if you tell them why you are leaving and if you ask them for pardon/extra time. Footbag calls you . . . dont leave her hanging.

Dude! Just study on the plane flight or on breaks or something.

I know how you feel because I'm the exact same way, I passed on a cruise because I didn't want to miss a week of school, but THIS, this is different.

You gotta do it.

Think, YOU GET TO PLAY FOOTBAG.........

.....AND GET PAID FOR IT. That is everyone's dream.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

Seriously. And you're in like grade 9 or 10? Your results for school this year and amazingly important anyway - it's just important that you learn good study techniques so you can get good results in year 11 and 12 - I have a friend who missed half of year 8, all of year 9 and some of year 10 with chronic fatigue but still got excellent pre tertiary results and played touch football at a national level in year 12. Missing school really won't matter at all. Also this would be a fantastic experience for you - I think you'd probably learn more from the experience than from the time you could be spending at school. It's like in year 11 I went up to the World All Schools Touch Championships about 3 weeks before exams started and I rate that experience as one of the most important for me in that year. I'd spent 6 months working part time in a shitty job at a chinese restaurant and we were training 6 days a week. Looking back now that is easily the highlight of that year (that and discoving footbag) - and I learnt a great deal more about myself and what I'm capable of than I would have learnt at school. School is important, but life experiences are just as important and events like this can make significant and important impacts in shaping your life for the future.

Alex you really have to go!

Seriously?
High school is important, and fun, but I think all that mattered for me were my marks from grade 12 -- high school is just conditioning for life. It's good to learn stuff, but at the same time HUGE LIFE EXPERIENCES (like a crazy footbag commercial/travelling opportunity) are what high school is supposed to prepare you for -- don't let it get in the way!

They are calling the dude tomorrow :D

At this stage i cant think of anyway how that guy could be lieing.
Actually before he started talking to me he walks up to me and withdraws about 30 notes of $50 out of his pocket 8O that was at least a grand of money...

But hey, what a cool experience! :)

Maybe make for certain everything is paid for in advance before you fly off to another country and expect and depend on a whole wad of cash. I was cheated out one of my recent demos  (Actually the last two, kind of...) Make sure you and the guy in charge both agree on what you will be getting, and maybe get it in writing, with signatures.
