Met at Millenium Park with Evan Lovely. We decided to move over to Grant Park because Lollapolooza was there. We encountered a fence and tried to get around it, but it strecthed forever. By the time we got to the end of it (1.5 miles), we still didn't find people to kick near, but we found shade and we were tired. the Zeke and I went to find people who were lost. We ended up walking all the way back (13 blocks!) to Millenium Park and BacK again! I couldn't play after that. We walked much more to the store and train....so tired...almost missed my stop on the way home from dozing.
I'm glad so many peeps came out, but it sucks I couldn't kick with them. The heat was a concern and a topic of discussion today, but I'm happy to say that it didn't bother me (115 F).

Hope your knee is feeling better. I probably should not have thrown that damned frisbee. Also, thanks for coming with me to find the twins... or was that your idea? Shit, I think my brain got overcooked (stir-fried
) in this heat. In any case, I enjoyed and appreciated the company. Can you believe we walked that whole distance?

Who all's up for a Wednesday shred?
The blame should not be on zekes comunication skills the blame goes to the first arriving group who could not use common sense and say hey lets shred near these big water towers, there were people there, was a nice source of cooling off and it was in the park we were originally meant to shred in.
We were all excited of the thought that finding a crowded spot near lalapolooza sounded so sweat and we were badly mistaken to think that. not only did we not find a crowd and the music sucked thats when we realized oh shit how the fuck is everyone else gonna find us.
It was a group effort of myself, tim, josh, tom, evan, and zeke who all just followed someones (cant remember whos) bad idea.
the fact that zeke without even a second thought went walking in that heat to find you guys he should take less blame than anyone else, so cut him a little slack most people would have ignored the problem and just shred, and including myself thats what we did.

I've decided to not play footbag for a few days to le the knee recover. This leaves me for less time to school what I want to hit for the Sick contests. The trick I have in mind for Sick 1 I can't even do yet...I can't even do the set yet. But I look forward to hours and hours of practice. I've never had a deadline in footbag. It's gonna be cool to push hard to reach a goal in a short time.
Then again if me knee is still a bitch, I'm gonna hae to figure something else out.
+++++++++
Shawn,
Sick 1 and Sick 3 at Midwest's Champs, dude. P.S. I think some people just died at the dunes.
+++++++++
John,
Yes 115 F was the heat index. The actual temp was 102, I think.
P.S. I wanna be a ninja
+++++++++
Jacob is just Joshing. Okay, the pun is great in that one; only if UnDerStand it!

i rode my bike three times in three days to improve my knee. i think it helped.
Today I walked my dogs, rode my bike, went swimming...and played footbag - finally. It's been like 2 weeks or something since I've played. It feels like forever. I just wanted to school some moves without using my right knee to aggresively. i started practicing this second choice move that i woul use for sick one. By trying it I discovered another completely new move. The move is awesome, but then I tried my first choice move. After 20 times...
Hit it!
I was so happy! Since i actually may be able to do something for sick 1 now. and i've always thought the move was cool in the past (in thought).
Just to make sure I could do it again, I hit it another 10 times. So happy. Sorry I can't say what it is yet. Gonna hit it this weekend then post

My body was really sore today. I played footbag anyways. Just to practice my new move. It was way harder to do today with the sore body, but I rode my bike a little b4hand and stretched a bunch to remove the soreness.
In the same amount of tme as yesterday, I was able to hit this new move 5 times. Pretty good for a new ass uncommon triple dex move on the second day. I hit 10 yesterday, but 5 is all gravy. The fifth one took fooooorever, but I wouldn't stop till I got it.
I also thought of a sick 3 combo.
toe set swirl>blurry knee bump (gimpy?) mirage>whirling rake
but I changed my mind. Now it's something else.
I'm looking to do uncommon moves. i think that's how it should be for these types of events.
I hope I can become more consistent and/or get lucky in order to hit my sick one trick (and sick 3 combo). My sick three combo shouldn't be as bad.

"Midwest"
First day
Happy to see Mike (Hansen). Shawn and his dad grilled for us (thx, u awesome men). I didn't play much. Relaxed a bunch. fun. Mustafa, this new guy i never met, played so well. He would kick, hit 2 tricks really solidly then pass. He hit his freestyle moves so solidly though. he hit reverse swirl!
Zeke bought lots of drinks and shared with everyone.
Basketball was enjoyed by many.
Fun party at Ted's house. Hot tub, food, pool table, smores!, fire pit, light up frisbee. Reile, Mike, Zeke and I made up a game involving our heads, a soccer ball and a pool table.
2nd day was serious
Picked up Zeke and Nathan. Met Henry. My legs were feeling alot better (less stiff) than yesterday. I didn't get to shred alot. I started playing slowly, got warm, then comps started. We shred again later, and I started playing well, but it was only a little while until results came and henry left.
4 square was pretty fun. it was the first time i played the no-emotion rule. I was staring straight at Gabriel when he smacked Ashra in the face. It was a total accident. Ashra walked right into it. I had maintained my no-emotion for so long, but totally lost composure at that moment and burst out laughing. The whole square did, so everyone was out.

I wish I could have played with Henry and Mike more, and of course the others fellas.
After all the mystery, my new move is frenzy (pixie quantum mirage). I hit one of my sick 3 combos (easier one) I had practiced (toe set reverse swirling toe > eggbeater > toe set swirl). I hit the first 2 of my better sick 3 combo (toe set reverse swirling toe > all-in-one symp toe blur > woulda been whirling rake)
I footed a blurry torque today midstring!

Nice sesh today.
I practiced drifters. I got 4 - almost 5 today in a row, many times. I was doing them a little crispy, but not extra crispy.
I did some sweet torques.
I hit 2 more Ripsteins! The first one was super super controlled.
Hit DOD>drifter>torque BS.
I hit this move: swirling>op foot rake. I hit it once flukishly, but I tried a bunch afterwards. The swirl always hit the bag. I didn't do a swirl set really - it was more like all in the air type of thing.
Anticipating fun this weekend at Adler/Shedd Jam
