23th July 2005

Footbag Performance at the Pullacher Südlichtfestival.

In the Bürgerhaus Pullach, the 2nd "Jugend Kultur und Kunst Festival" took
place, and we were one of the attractions besides Capoeira groups,
HipHop Dance, some live bands etc. We had a stand there, right in the
Bürgerhaus and we played all day with lots of people watching us.
There was one scheduled performance with lots of spectators, where
Max explained some Footbag basics, and afterwards Max, Bea, Mike and
me shredded one after another.
We taught some kids their first basics, and we met Benni from Pullach,
who has just started out and was happy to play with us. In 5 minutes I
taught him Mirage, Legover and Pickup..he hit Mirage on the strong side
3rd try!! He told us that he was with Sebastian Kleinichen (TinTin) recently
when he visited Frankfurt, and there he learned about Footbag. He
seems really interested! I hope he stays with the team.

Anyway, I hit one nice thing:

Far symp rev whirl midrun (Ducking Clipper>Far symp rev Whirl>far legover>little run)

And Max hit PS WHIRL!!
We now have polish blood in our team.

Heh, yeah, and he was with us this session:

25th July 2005

Monday Gym Session.

Players: Max, Daryl, Angrod, Kue, Benni and me.

Benni showed up for the first time, and he hit shit on command. Seriously,
he had 3 legovers in a row, legover>legover>mirage, he hit pickups,
atws and illusions all over the place. he hit his first clippers, and even his
first BUTTERFLY!! this man is a force - all he needs is some good shoes
and his game will take off.

As for me, I felt slight pain in my calf before the session, but my legs
were with me this time and I had an AWESOME AWESOME session.
I even forgot to put on my knee-bandage, and I didn't even need it.
Here's what I hit in what might have been my best session ever:

another Far symple Dyno

footed Magellan>Smear>Dimwalk>Torque

Magellan>PLO>PLO>PLO

Dimwalk>Pdx Drifter

2 Torques in one run
(dropped the third)

PARADOX TORQUE    Here's the video

TORQUE>TORQUE

and what I'm most happy with:

34 INFINITIES (my old record is almost a year old now and stood
at 15..) - to handcatch: I didn't drop, I just stopped because I was too
stoked and my stamina had left me (hit this at the end of the session)..

I hit another Pixie symp rev whirl too.

What a session!

I said it when i saw it, but it was so dramatic and beautiful to
witness you hitting your first pdx torque : PROPS !!!
I love your style and trick selection, just one little thing,
( you know, 2 positives>one negative...some call that psychology  )
please eliminate that f.legover - you never hurt a fly,
and theres nothing wrong to show the world that you're guiltless :D

Get/Stay healthy and shred with us !

Btw, Max, if you wanna play ball, phone me...i'll spank ya

Hey bjoern, big props to Pdx Torque!!!! Nice vid, but a Pdx Drifter out of a But is just WOW!!! (In my opinion)

Max your first PS Whirl was unbelievably. (I´m glad I saw it live)
:P CRAZY STYLE :P

Dary: I´m sorry we didn´t meet at the Suedlichtfestival.
Hit Nuclear Mirage first time after three or four tries.

Thanks Michal :D ! With your help for toe2toe shred and with you as
my personal trainer for the polish language, everything will work out
great !

Wow. Euros was such a blast - there was so much input - all the crazy
shredders from all over, the numerous circles, the pro action, the insanly
high level of both pros and intermediates, the city itself - i guess digesting
all these impressions might take longer as the event itself 8O !

In trying to do this madhouse of a trip any justice, i shall do this chronologically,
day by day, beer by beer, hot dog by hot dog :

DAY ONE

Markus and me, as the lone duo of munich representatives, arrived
after a 12 hr bus ride, with all its charming discomforts like not knowing
how to sit ( let alone sleep) and shredding in flip flops, at Wroclaw
main station roubd 6 am.
Without any polish money and no knowledge of this beautiful but
hella hard language, this can be a stupid time.
It was nice having a coffee, but as for better distractions, we were
to see some very nice looking girls passing by, probably the nicest
i had seen in some months and i thought, how good it is, that
some cliches are true !

We failed figuring out the way to the event sites by our selves and
decided to go outside, chilling in the sun, waiting for a more
convenient time to fon up Hania for help.
I started to shred, naturally, and i hit barrage and some smashers
and watched Markus doing some nice nuclear sets..
After a fucked up dimwalk i slightly had to turn to pick up the bag,
and when i got up, Hania was standing before us like some saint
who just beamed herself down from the enterprise.
The surprise was so intense in that moment, that i failed to express
my happiness about her showing up, and she took us to her place
to rest up and to meet some polish players.

I dont know what impressed me the most that morning :
Kamil hitting flurry like nothing at the bus stop, calling it an easy trick
or Hanias very nice and footbaggy room.
It took us ages to go to Hotel GEM, and i felt as sporty and in shape
as a chewing gum left in the desert to die ; and of course, thats were
things got hectic :registration, meeting the players, a players meeting
( some should have taken Alis advice more serious...), warming up,
realizing that i'm in the third pool, without having a routine or a song
or any strength left ( to shred well and to think straight ) - the little
power i had left by then got spent in the usual sloppy tourney warm up.

I was up third in pool 3, and when i finally picked some music, the first
player of my lot was already shredding...i wasnt too nervous then -
that feeling hit me full boar when the mod said my name into
the mic . My legs were sooo heavy, and for nothing in the world
i could control them. I dont remember much really, only that i had
a lot of drops, repetitive mirage>legover stuff, occasional 3's,
overall bad form and no, but no show.
As soon it was over, i knew i didnt make the next round and i was
kinda relieved - a total fuck up is the best point to start things,
as it can only get better .
I know a lot more about the do's and dont's of routines now and
Zimmermann also gave me some nice tips before he left .
( i was trying smashers after one highly unsuccsessful minute,
instead of doing some kicks or flyers...)

Most other intermediates like Viktor, Skocki and 12 year old Michal
did a lot better and it was really cool to watch them .
The polish youngster had some nice stuff in his routines - he took out
a little paper to read his next trick and hit ripwalk>stepping osis !
Both of the Dexdos passed to the semis, and so did a lot of the
polish shredders - their level and their energy was really something else -
14 year old kids practicing spinning nuclear sets around 3 am and
guys who hit like 20 rips back to back as a warm up, only
to win intermediate .

Dog, that was such a long day - i played a lot, did no better than
ok though, but it was fun, shredding with so many good peeps,
some familiar faces and some others i "know" from modified
or never heard of at all before .
I played with Tuomas, Serge, Carlos,Tim...i also met Mosher and Matt Cross .
The first day is always so intense and exhausting - all the input from sights
and humans and tricks and combos and all the energy spent on shredding,
travelling and beer - plus there is always some unexpected stuff on the side.
For me it was finding out the meals i will eat 4 the next days will be a
sausage only affair, loosing my Ilja bag and having a room with no light
but the party leftovers of some well known shredders who will not be
named.
After a fixed light and a genius idea from Verena, who inspired a
good number of people to order from pizza hut, things got a lot better.

I spend the evening chatting and kicking, mostly with Markus, Benita
and Jerome, good company all the way, and i was glad that i didnt
go to the party, so glad that i went to bed around 4 am.

DAY TWO
Sleeping in for a long time, Markus and me arrived at the scene
around 2 pm, just in time to see the majority of Open Freestyle qualification routines.
We watched most of that days action and i was kinda glad, when all
the official events were over and it was time to shred !
After warming up for a bit with Markus, we joined a circle with Matze, Jan
and Inga and the two Berliners tore shit up - i never saw Jan shredding
before, this guy is really good !
I didnt do too bad this time, but still my legs were all heavy and worn out.
Maby i shouldnt play 4 hrs every day for 3 weeks straight before the
next tourney, so that i have some stamina and fresher ideas when i
meet the rest of the world  .

As everybody started to leave the gym around seven, Szymon and
some other polish kids bravely held their ground and i decided to join em.
Szymon and me played together, he was trying some hard stuff and
gave me good tips on my breathing technique or lack thereof.
We played for like 2 hrs and after hitting plo>dso i packed my stuff
and went home.
It has been a hard day and very little food, and after smoking out
in our little room,Markus decided to stay in, while i went down, joining
Nikolai and his friends to go into town by some 10 zlotty cab, reckless
and insane driver included.

The club was located in a medival market square swarmed with
stunning girls and steroid infested security personel -if you own a
security guard company in Poland, you be a rich man fo shizzle.
They guard everything :doors, discos, kfc's, even supermarkets -
only god knows, what they'll do to you, when you buy the wrong
water by accident.
If i knew that those guys werent working, i had wondered why
i wasnt invited to Nazi Camp .

Ian, Caro, Dylan, Wiktor from Warsaw and his girl Gosia were already
chilling there, having a good time.
When Hania, Patris and more polish shredders joined us, we had kebaps
and went to a late night supermarket to get cheap beer to drink illegally
in the park.
Just when we got out of the store, ready to rock, really dark tidings had reached us :
the small group, that split away from us to enjoy some Bob Marley somewhere secretly, got busted by the police !
Smoking in Poland is NOT kool at all - you might even go to jail !

The was no time to be shocked or ask too many questions by then,
we had to move on and slipped to the park, where everybody was
hecticly discussing what exactly happened, what we were to do
and how hardcore the cops are overthere.
Hania, Ali and Patris foned people back and forth and just when things
started to lighten up for a bit, ( we knew, they will not be held there
and one of them could speak the language )the cops rushed the spot
at the park and they reminded us that drinking outside is illegal as
hell and that we should better fuck off now..

We went to club ibiza, with mixed emotions, to say the least,
and met many other footbaggers, who wondered about our
moody faces.
I hung out mostly with the Paris crew - Arthur, Benita, Carlos,
Grisha, Jerome and Serge, and we all got pretty drunk and chatty -
but it was all fun and games then .

When somebody got Wodka on the menu, we kinda spent the rest of
the night at the bar with a short dancefloor intermezzo -
and things got out of control.
No actually things stayed what they are, it was me who completly
lost it !
After a very dubious drinking contest, that i lost of course, i could
barely stand and i was just leaning against some pillar, talking shit .
And i'd probably still be there now or worse, if it wasnt for the brave
and kind Mr Sir Doctor Professor Ian St Prichard, to whom i owe
more thana few beers - he took me into a cab and carried me up stairs,
thank you and Jesus and all the other good boys from team !!!

DAY 3

From the worst night outs i ever had, the friday one easily took a 3rd place and
i decided to leave my bed for good around 6 am ; i had a terrible time during that day -
the normal sensations of a light alcohol poisoning and the vague feeling of being
stupid out of proportions, doubled and trippeld by the time i learnt from Dexter
that he just played his first dropless routine ever - i felt bad anyway but to waste
time and energy like that, at an event where every minute counts, felt deservedly
extra harsh.
But i still wanted to go to the Gem area to eat and shred some, and also to find out
how bad i was last nite and how severe the punishment ( a ton of stories of routines
and wicked shred, brought to you by instant karma.com ) will be.
I made it a little further then the gas staion, although hotdogs and orange juice made me
feel a trifle stronger, but i met Ian, Honza and Felix and learned a lot about todays action
from them, plus my legs had turned from lead to butter, so i was kool with going back home.
When i was back in my room, still feeling somewhat queazy and confused, i was very
happy to see Markus and we watched some of the days' routines and had a chat,

Later on Paris crew hooked us up to hang out at some crazy boat where the officials
had some meeting and we were supposed to be treated with an inofficial barbecue.
Which really sounds good , one might think now, but hold your horses i say -
it was a sausage only event ( again, sigh* ) and i knew that fighting my hunger
with a sixer of beer for allies, might be the original bad idea.
Something had to be done and after an oddly long awaited wurst and tasty but very
spicy slavic "wan tans" i joined les francais what they called going for a joint.
It turned out too be a nice hardcore thc advertisement marathon smoke out,
and in a situation like that its kool talking to polish guys who hit montage
in a routine with some 2 years of playing on their backs.
After the smoke had cleared, Markus, Karim, Rabbit, Paris Crew and me
went a long time on and on to find the players party place, a drum and bass club -
i was quite keen on getting there, finally a place were music doesnt nessesarily mean
american comercial hip hop .
The party was probably the best we had all week, for a number of reasons :
it was quite full, the d n b was old as the earth itself but still good and there even were
some people, that dont play footbag.

I was on the near side of the bar, when i looked over to Serge, who was endlessly waiting
to order, grinning, or shall a say beaming with a most radiant smile, avoiding the two guys,
who served our end and the middle, like the plague. I got my beers and looked over again
to try to spot the source of his serenity, and then, i felt a pull, i heard the call.
At the far side of the bar, Beer was served by a final and stunning girl of calm and rather
musical features, looking like an introvert and somewhat foreign violin player in a french movie.
If she was an indian, i'd name her lovely arrow, because she was so straight and shy.
Because of her Arthur and me decided to go out and find Beautiful Waitress Country,
the post modern promised land - for all those, who dont know - to rescue all the nice kellnerinnen
from evil.

We had a lot of fun there - an informal breakdance battle between Poland and the
rest of the world with Felix for a sound machine ( i mean it ), featuring Dylan Fry with his
smoove moves and, maby most noteworthy, Caro Burgoin battling away this superflous
german guy, who was at our tails during the whole week, annoying the crap out of everybody.
No one really knew who he was, he introduced himself as some top notch photographer-writing
type and everybody seemed to avoid this special edition of an attention hungry, energy stealing,
smart ass downtalker.

I still hear the cheers, after Caro had ripped him apart and he had to leave the circle - yes, break
dancing has a harder ettiquette in its circles than footbag - but he didnt learn from it, naturally
and managed to get even more annoying later on.After the breakin', the dj took over again
and started to play that 50 cent stuff i've been becoming allergic to during my trip - like
i did to sausages and meat in general - so i went back to the bar room to join Mosher
shredding it up with a single pent. He was closer to Nemesis than i was to beta smear stallberger,
but i wasnt in my best form, since the amount of Piwo in my body was ever increasing, and i still
hadnt ate enough that day, let alone enough to get the strength back i had lost he other night.
We stayed at this place till it closed down, i had a great time, i just wished i had danced more,
but i'm a hell of a picky guy, when it comes down to music; and dont give any of that tolerance stuff,
y'all dont know, what i got endure at footlocker everyday.
Sleep came easy that night. :)

DAY FOUR

A proper footbag day.
After arriving on the site, Markus and me blew our last money for booze and kebaps,
surprpise, surprise, so we teamed up with some pale checz kid to find out about atm's
and supermarkets. In my inhuman, holiday moments, i tend to forget, how working class
i actually am and i was so fucking happy, that shops in Poland are opened on sunday too !
Fruits, juices, water for a reasonable price - a gateway out of sausage hell !
With fresh nutrition and high hopes, we returned to Hotel Gem to shred and to watch
the finals for open freestyle and shred 30, and as it should be, ladies were up first .
I'll skip all the girlie routines with all its winking and sexy toestalls, i dont wanna knock
anybody here, but i as i'm not the biggest fan of routines anyway, i always need a fair
share of genuine shred to really appreciatae them.
Lets start with Hania, she was still injured and not up to full potential yet, but, and i'm not
alone here, she has one of the best styles in freestyle footbag, and that showed.
When she was announced, Damian grabbed a shirt to wave around, and he sped
around the square to fire up the people. And he did, giving the world a nice display
of the words pride and passion.
Hania was very brave, i mean everybody that knows her game just a little, knew,
she wasnt playing with all her faculties intact ; normally ( un-injured ) she hits
ripwalks, barflies and ps whirls all over the place, but at this point, almost a month
out of practice and an ankle that wasnt fully healed up, ducking clippers were
the max. But her routine was nice nonetheless, i just like her presence and style
and i thought she did the best she could to ignore all these hinderences.
Lise was awesome - she had good variety and kept shred and all the fun/oldschool
elements well balanced.
When she hit that wicked symple swirl, i almost died and i definitly did so when
she hit that barfly close to the end,
Lisa is such a hard shredder, but i always think her ranking never really does
her justice - if you look at style and trick selection, how can she be a number 3...
if she minimized her drops and played more to the music, she would definitly
get the other girls in some serious trouble !
Tina Aeberli was up next, and everybody was excited, i was too, even though
i intuitivly knew, what was comming up, or maby because of that.
She went out there and killed. HUge shuffle, always on the beat ; back up plans
for drops; variety and good tricks, of course ; showmanship meant precision
and being fully in tune with her sound - Tina set an exellent example how
a routine should be planned and executed - it was better then perfect .
But that doesnt even beginn to describe the joy and exitement, the drama
and our frenetical relief, when she hit the last three moves so on point and
so on the beat. Goosebumps and cheers, and a feeling of satisfaction -
she was the elf of the day and it feels good to see a winner who really
deserves to win like nobody else ; and it is also a nice thing to witness
a turning point in sport history, especially, if its your favourite sport/art
and you sit 5 meters in front of the whole thing, close to tears.
Watch the vid and pretend youre there, this is as good as it gets,
i'm afraid
But all this was very hard on Verena, i mean you must feel a lot of pressure anyway,
if people have these crazy expectations about you and your game, but if you have
Tina, this very Tina, rippin shit up and having the crowd by their balls, it almost
impossible to turn the tide to your favor.
She told me afterwards, how nervous she was, but i think she did a very good job,
and if the level keeps rising like it does right now, women freestyle per se will
only benefit from that.
I dont feel like talking about Mens Finals that much....i see y'all going like "pheeew"..
it was really hard to tell then, who shold have won and what not and its even harder now.
See, i dont know to much about how these routines are jugded, i'm not a routine fan in general,
and i dont have any idea about exact scores, but Felix was the man, imo.
Yes Honza was dropless, and Vasek was technically harder, but if you look at
difficulty, variety, playing on the music/show and the exitement that a good combination
of these elements should induce in crowd and jury, Stone Cold had the best ratio, but
what do i know?
I definitly know, how weird the atmosphere was, when V. dropped his, like, third move -
some odd inside stall, if i remember correctly : instead of cheering him up and screaming his
name as loud as one can, to help him forget, there was this dark whisper going thru
the crowd, everybody seemed to utter his bewilderment at the same time, but i had the
feeling there was some malice too in that sound, like if some people wanted to see him fall.
Anyway, he was nervous as hell, there wasnt much of a routine - he mainly improvised
and shredded away, forgetting the brilliant routine he had devised for this final .
Despite my former statement, i'm happy that Vasek won again, it should take more
than nervousness to de-throne a champion, and up till now, he simply is the best,
and he will be for quite a bit, if you ask me .
The best thing 4 me about Mens Freestyle finals was Szymon Kalwaks' fourth place -
big effin props, man - your routine was awesome by all means !

Shred 30 was less dramatic and heartbursting, thank god, but Lise's unluckyness
was really a pain in the ass - she's like the female Max Kerkhoff - in circles they
kill and stuff, but in a comp, they seem to lack...god-knows-what, but it seems
that they either put the stakes too high or they have problems to focus, i dont know...
Yves the Chief was just plain wonderful to watch, his ill type shuffle is now spiced
up with nice variety and this praying mantice had only 2 drops, so his third place was
very much deserved, and again i wasnt happy with the way Felix was ranked...

Verena was really insane, shuffle and torques all over, i believe, she made a new
personal record that day, it was very cool that she won shred and i believe,
she would have also won, if Tina took part aswell - Verena was just too powerful
in these 30 seconds !

The next hour was a mix of watching the award ceremonies and off and on shred,
and after giving it up for Carlitos' sucsess in golf, i played in a really nice circle
with Karim, Serge, Michal B., Carlos, Markus and Viktor - later on we were reinforced by
some finnish and polish guys and we split the circle in two.
I was really playing sub par the whole tournament, i was kinda washed out ideawise and
staminawise from shredding too much beforehand, but i didnt do too bad this time.
It is so enlightening and inspiring if one gets the opportunity to shred with people
who are really good - you see all different and hard moves and you also get to see
how they should be executed, plus it just plain good fun to see wild stuff like sailing
gyro pick up, montage or pixie merlin in your very circle.

We stopped playing aftr 2,5 hours and everybody that stayed was trying to learn new
hard tricks, mainly quatum and merlin variations - Lise hit voodoo for the first time-
i didnt see the move, but her happy, beaming face .
After picking up some merlin tips, Viktor, Anna and me went back to the students
house, and when they stopped to get cigarettes from Hotel Gem, i waited outside
trying to hit my second ever 5 add .
Vojta and his girlfriend walked by and he yelled : " Hey, you can stop now, its over "!
i giggled, telling him, its never really over and i kept on trying.
Just when Viktor and his sister came out the Hotel, i hit BETA BLUR
Well, i was happy...

When i was home i met Markus, whose foot had swollen up pretty badly
from a wasp sting, that he had recieved and ignored sine two days.
It was a real shame, since it was the last evening and in that state
he could never make it to the party, so he decided to stay in to enjoy
a book and a little smoke.
We told Patris about it and after an unsucsessful search for any solves
or ointments, she said, she'd call a doctor .
When that was all arranged, a big group left to go to the last party.
We arrived there way early, not many poeple where there and i spend
the first half of the night hanging out with Martin from linz and Vienna crew.
These pizza slices saved my life, by the way ! THANX :)
When i looked around, i ran into Patris, who informed me, that Markus and her
had been to a hospital already and that he got some injections.
I was well surprised, but happy at the same time that everything was fine !

The whole evening i didnt really felt like dancing and the whole affair was rather
about chatting and having beers and more beers .
Hania had a whole flood of footjam pictures spread out on the table,
i met Ian there again, and while we were musing over the pics,
the rest of the pack arrived on the seen.
The atmosphere got better and better, and the way home - partly by tram, but
mainly on foot - was very fun, especially, when Cod challenged me to
hit some polish tounge twisters .
When we got back, everybody was flying high, and the sun was rising, we
got more wasted and more silly, and by the time we played double 4square,
my cheeks were aching from two hours of constant fits of laughter .

I went to sleep around 8 am.

Last DAY

was maby the best day. Markus, Viktor, Anna and Paris crew wanted to meet up with
Hania and some others in the middle of town to get to see some more of Wroclaw
and to shred. While the majority left pretty early to meet them, we stuck around,
to team up with the french guys ; they came down, one by one, with a crushed,
wild look about them.
The morning was very lazy already and it wasnt just hot, it was scorching and
the time we waited for Arthur, the slowest man in the world ( footbag aside  ),
seemed endless.
When our gang was complete we headed into town, hit a kfc for food and then
we joined Hania, Ales, Dylan, Damian, Szymon, Mathieu, Sebastiene and
others for a little shred.
Again, i was lucky to get some good tips for my game and this time i could
process Szymons tips on drifters, which came in handy, when i was back home.
I shredded off and on, Viktor gave some good whirl info, but i mainly worked
on an idea for another 5 add, that Markus gave me.
After numerous tries, i stopped trying hard and stuff, and i just hit it, with
a minimal effort, and it had a clean feel about it too.
I wasnt jumping about or shouting yeah , i was just plain stoked and walked away,
smiling.
"Whats up, Daryl " ? Dylan asked me .
"i just hit my 3rd five add ever ".
"Was it ducking ps mirage ? I saw you hitting it...sweet "!
Some of us stopped to play for a bit and we joined Ales to go food shopping
and we had long talks and a even longer wait at the counter .
When we returned , i started to school stuff and i hit some spinning moves,
most notably spin legover on my other side for the first time.
We played on and on and took some fotos before we had to head for
the bus station .
The rugged feel of this last day is hard to sketch with words-
some kind of happy, trashed enlightement of amateur quality,
if you will.
And although the good byes didnt came easy that evening,
i was relieved to be back on the bus - and even more so,
when i got out .

:P

Euros was so huuuge and this account of it is over long and way too personal, but what the hell.
Its all on the page now and i can return to shred news and bragging finally
:D
!Thanks to the organizers for the great experience and all your help !

luv,

:D aryl

Wow, crazy long report, Daryl! I'll read it when I have time, hopefully this weekend or next week at work :D

Is the Munich crew going to Frankfurt footbag open? Me and Ali are going pretty sure. It would be nice to meet you guys again since I didn't go to Euros.

Word . That report is the chinese wall's retarded brother - long and slow :D

I havent been poeting what i've hit over the last ten days
and this is the up date :

At Euros i hit spinning leg over on the other side,
diving symp mirage midrun, beta blur and ducking ps mirage

21.07. i had a run with some easy 3's and 6 pixie moves -
plo>plo>run>smear>ss smear>run>plo>butter>pdx mir>leg over>ss smear
:D
atomic legover>smear>short run
my first 2 flip smears in a row ( never tried b4...)
ripwalk>run

22.07.

stepping legover bsos

blur bsos

toe dlo bsos

ripwalk midrun

spin clip>run

butter>shmoe>smear>run

i managed to hit all my stepping moves on both sides a couple of times

25.07

156 kicks - but with some kneebumps...is that a bad thing ?

clip set ducking butter

DRIFTER

plo>dso

ducking mirage bsos

pixie clip> stepping legover both sides

parkwalk and dimwalk in the same run

26.07

shit loads of swirls

ducking clipper>spinning clipper bs

some flip datws

27.07.

Bea and me went to a public swimming pool place ( Schwimmbad !)
to shred and lol around in the sun.
Warm up was just short of glorious - long tiltless runs, good clippers
and even some good butters.
We worked on pixie for a bit and shredded away pretty early.
Some good runs, especially from Beatrice.

After a quick dip in the cool, we continued and i wanted to quantum
out of the blue sky, and Max Kerkhoffs advice, that i didnt understand
at all at Euros, suddenly kicked in with force :
i saw the vid from Hoods shredhouse in my mind, and i heard Max
voice in my head going like "its like a pixie, but with the other foot,
or a reverse leggy atomic, if you will " and gave it a shot .

toe blur 1. try
tripwalk :!:
quantum legover
yaaaay :D

its so easy, its a shame. toe to toe rulz
i love that set and i will learn it on the other side today.

i had one run like plo>smear>ss smear>mirage>legover>ss mirage>
butter>pdx mir>smear>mirage>clipper>f legover>clipper>pdx mirage>
ducking clipper>mirage>diving drop :)
and another with toe blur>legover>mirage>mirage>atomsmasher>
pickup>ss clipper>mirage>ss pick up>ducking mirage>mirage>smear>
surprise>joy>handcatch :D

BEA HIT TOE DRIFTER !!! twice, mmmmh so nice and clean 8)

and i also picked up spinning pdx mirage bs somewhere along my journey .

footbag, i love you

Rainy Storm Shred

Before Zeus went crazy and the storm roared, i worked on basics like
kicks ( 132 ),atws, clippers (25), butters and pdx mirages.

The rain practically started when i was working on my other sides' quantum,
and i only managed to get a couple of nice sets, but no trick was hit out of it.

I realized that i need to better my left pixie before i be able to quantum
on that side too, so i skooled my ass off in the raging weather.
It didnt take long to get the set nice and high, i minimized the motion
and i get that damm foot down much quicker finally - i used to the my
flip pixie sometimes or i made big and unbalanced side step while landing -
but not anymore  !
My flip pixie archenemies, magellan, pixie rake and ss smear, finally
surrendered and became easy to hit. Toe shuffle, here i come !

new stuff :

flip pixie rake

magellan bsos

slapping mirage
( quantum same side mirage )

and i came ridicolously close to toe shmoe and pixie ss dlo

hey daryl.

a nice report... it really sounded the way i felt most of the time.
No one really knew who he was, he introduced himself as some top notch photographer-writing type and everybody seemed to avoid this special edition of an attention hungry, energy stealing, smart ass downtalker.
that guy (http://www.footbag-aachen.de/that_guy.jpg) did not take one f..kin picture the whole time he was annoying everybody(10days for me). i should have beaten hell out of him when i had the chance, there was reason enough... im a peaceful guy usually, but that sucker really made me angry. on saturday morning around 8am he screamed over the whole floor, waking me up after like 4h of sleep. i told him to shut up ´cause some people here do sports and stuff. but he just kept on shouting about footbag not beeing a sport afterall and we were just here for drinking. i told him to eat his gay leopard-briefs (he really had those ugly things on) and was really close to hit him. finally his (also pretty strange but funny and nice) roomate made him shut up. when caro killed him on that dancefloor, that was about the best thing of the whole week.

by the way.. finally it comes to my why you and ian were acting THAT strange in the Ibiza...

Nice one Beatrice ! Lets see 'em 2morrow, its gonna be great :D

We also had a lil shred, since Angrod was the only guy that showed up
for our weekly trip to middle earth and we had some good clean, family fun .

He hit his first 2-2-2-2 : atw>legover>legover>mirage , nice job on that.
He also hit ducking toe stall and illusion will be his soon too, i guess.
For a noob, Angrod has quite a good posture and nice form, but i wish,
that he played more often !

I was working on basics - 20something clippers each side, 19 and 23
tiltless and 82 nice, controlled kicks - and most concepts like pixie,
"flip"quantum, stepping(out of butters) and spinning .

Spinning and double dexes felt real good today, and i managed to
awake my other quantum - i'm so in love withthat set, i hope i'll
be able to use it midstring soon.

diving clipper>spinning clipper

butter>sidewalk
on the other side finally :)

spinning clipper>pdx mirage>run

butterfly>stepping legover bsos

butter>dlo>legover>butter>step legover>legover

pixie legover>butter>spin clipper

quantum legover
on the other side 8)

Just 4 clarifications'sake i will try and use the term flipside more accuratly
from now on ; inspired by the thread "what does left clipper mean",
i re-read the stance section on flipsider and i found out that i'm right
sideways, mostly.

Flip clip- and but-training are going very well...

Hit flip ripwalk, blur, sidewalk (first time :D) this weekend.

I´d like to come to Munich on Thursday. Hope the weather is going to be good and everyone like to shred...

Daryl: reading your report was very impressive for me. Thanks for it...
Looking forward to see your quantum-set bsos!!! 8O

Reverse blender ? sweet :D i bet that looked kool
How was your reaction after finally nailing it - you've been keen
to hit dyno since quite a bit ---
I really dig the feeling of hitting a new move mid-combo, or sealing
it with a string. When that happens, i know, that i will hit the move
again soon, and the happiness one feels after hitting a new one for
the first time, mingles with relaxation .
I cant wait to see you, man - props for the flip stepping stuff too, btw !
:P

Today, Bea, Max and me had little session on the main street of their hood.
I did well, badly timed pixie drill mania asisde.
I felt as helpless and fanatical as in my frist 7 months of freestyle,
but i could change it for the world :? .

You know these days, when you feel really powerful and yet light,
everything's chillaxed and you can hit everything you want, without
hustling too hard for it ?

Well, today was just the opposite . And of course, on a day where
everything is hardwork anyway, even butters, i had to have this idee
fixe
of smashing my pixie records.

Still, i cant call it a waste of time - i've never hit as many pixie moves
as i hit today - mainly because i didnt get the last move of a combo,
and i started over and over.

But there was some nice stuff going on too, i had 25 contact tiltless run,
one run with 6 butterflies and 18 contacts of 3 ss clips>op clip rpt,
sealed with a ducking clipper.

I got to see some good runs from the two Hunters, and most notably,
i saw Bea's whirls - they should get 2 extra adds, one for bringing
Bruce Lee to mind, and one for cleanliness . Niceness .

Max is really exhausting his possibillities, or better, he works hard
in the goldmine . His goal - having all tricks on both sides and being
able to hit everything out and into everything - is almost achieved.
He busts so fresh.
I wish, we'd tape more of his runs, so that he can see the improvement
for himself , how the links get more diverse and hardcore every frikken time he plays.

Runs :

18 cons with toe dlo, smear, plo, butter>pdx mir, ducking mir, ss smear

14 cons with atomic legover, smear, symp mirage, butter, xbd rake
ss smear

15 contact run with 2 datws

Nu shit :

plo>plo>plo>plo>pl , the 5th rolled off my f....

ducking clipper>ripwalk

one run with 5 plo

plo bsos and smear bsos in da same run

Blur> Ducking symp mirage

Props on Dyno, Mike!

Daryl, you're wicked - Quantum is soo cool. Stefan, watch out..

I started learning 3-Ball Juggling on sunday, and I bought 3 balls
today. It's so much fun, and my record stands at about 20 contacts
with 3 balls. I really want to learn all that multiplexin' madness.

Also, in full work clothing (Blaumann) I hit for the first time:

flip far symp rev whirl (3x)
strong ss symp rev whirl (4x)
14 right foot far osis

:) it's cool to have a trick nailed on both sides!
