How do the people around you react to your Footbagging?

Post by Jamo »

Well, what do they think about it...you know who i mean, Family, friends, pets

My mother hasnt a clue what it is, and doesnt care either...you'll hear the phrase "...Sockbag or whatever its called" a lot in this household.

My father doesnt know much about it. He doesnt live here so i just tend to chill out when im visiting him and dont think he even knows im into it.

My friends dont know anything about it either, they just think im a freak for being interested in something other than drinking, shagging and wasting time.

My Pet dobermann likes to watch me shred. He waits in eager anticipation for me to drop, even though when i do he wont go for it. But god be with my bag if it drops near him. I usually spend the next half an hour trying to prise his jaws open while trying to take the big sharp teeth off of my bag.

Both my parents encourage me and help me with things like airfare to Worlds last year, however both also secretly disapprove my intended lifetime commitment to the sport.

My brother and sister think it's awesome that I've found something to be so passionate about. They are not into it. My brother will only watch a footbag video if I was the one that made it...and even then it's tough to keep his attention.

My dog used to sit and watch me drill when I still lived at home, and if I ever stopped to sit down for a break, she'd come over to keep me company (or give me props, who knows...?)

My friends think it looks neat, but none are into it.

My grandma buys me crocheted hacks.

My neighbour, a resolute looking, brazilian matron was actually
very relieved, when she passed by my shred spot to see the
action from a closer range : " Oh, my god, you are dancing
with that little ball, i see , i see...when i saw you from a distance
the other day, jumping around and cursing, i thought the poor
young man was bitten by a snake or something "!

The people at work dig footbag and i cant think of anybody there,
who hasnt tried a toestall ;

My friends like it in their way, three of them even started to play -
they got 32's and g units - while the others make fun of my child
like enthiusiasm, when i show em tricks, or when i talk about it !

Girls- hmmm, some thing its very hard to follow = boring, some
really enjoy the watching the vids, and i'm never sure if its because
of the moves or the half naked boys ...

My mom thinks Yves Kreil is better than Vasek, but she likes Felix
and Tina too ; my dad has yet to see real shred .

I guess my parents support me. My mum bought one of my bags for me and my Dad watched a video with me once.

My brother thinks its alright, his friends are really impressed by it.

My other brother is neutral towards it (he paid for half of my lavers), he lives in Perth so he doesnt really see me play. He just thinks its gross how I sweat a lot when i play.

My dog sits and watches me. Sometimes he gets really into it and sits to close so i have to move.

Some of my friends think its amazing, others think I am freak (in a good way), others say "dont you have anything better to do in your own time?", the chicks probably wouldnt care less.

Footbag is cool.

well, my parentsthink it's pretty cool although I've heard my dad say "NO MORE FUCKY SACK!!!," but it was when I was injured and kept playing.

My brother is only 9 but I gave him his first bagthe other day and he's totally in to it now, he got three hits multiple times after just an hour and a half of play (and he has aweful nine year old coordination)

My friends are all circle kickers, but a couple of them can get close to doing ATW's. although I just met Daryl and Sunny Genz, and Jim Penske so now I have some really good footbaggers to hang out with :D

One of my cats never comes home, and the other one sleeps on my bed all day.

My dog doesn't exist.

My mom thinks its cool that my little brother and i are into it, and that we get so many chances to travel around and go to tournies.

My dad supports us. Helps us with money for tournies if we need it, he spotted me some cash so i could get my camera :-d but i think thats because he secretly wants to use it haha.

My brothers all think its mad cool. One of my older brothers even tried to get into it. He got toe stalls pretty easily, and hes working on mirages and stuff.

My black lab likes to come outside with us when we play. Sometimes she'll chill otu and watch us, but most of the time she just wanders off.

My mom and dad think it's a waste of time. My cat plays with the footbag when I have a drop and it's disturbing. My dog doesn't care. My brother was into it alot but now his only into computer. Some of my friends play it too.

My folks are pretty neutral toward it. They think it's cool that I'm active and that's the main thing - that I'm not just sitting on my arse all day.

My friends... well I have few friends. The two that don't play think it's kind of silly, but know how passionate I am about it, so they don't bag me out or anything. All of my other friends play (although only two live in Qld), with most of them being either on Modified or Ausfootbag.

My sister is bored by it, and my flatmate isn't interested, but is 'impressed' with how keen I am.

My work mates mostely think it's a joke, but every now and again I have a conversation where I can point someone to the [insert title here] DVD up in our lunch room, that they can watch.

Parents- just some think it's some "thing" I do

Friends (never seen it)- probably have no idea what it is but think it's cool anyways

Friends (who've seen it)- think it's freakin' sweet

Friends (who play it)- love to kick with me

Others- friend of mine told me that I actually have a repuation now, whenever my name is mentioned, people go, "dude the kid who has the mad hacky sack skills?"

Family-have about the same mindset as my parents. It's just "something" I do. My one cousin though hacky sacked back in his highschool days so he kicks with me every now n' then; I totally blow his mind away

My Invisible pet Panda- He's better than me and always motivates me

Mom - Think's it's pretty neat. I got her into kicking.

Mom's Boyfriend - Used to do it in highschool. I got him back into kicking.

Family - They think it's pretty cool. I bet they'll send me a bunch of crocheted hacky sacks for me, for my birthday.

Friends - Some are supportive. Some dislike it. Some play.

Dog - Doesn't like to watch, but loves to get in the way.

Mum - Shes supportive, sometimes thinks it gets in the way of school (speaking of school, I better go do my homework :P )

Dad - He always thought it was called Haggy sack until I told him what it was. Now he just thinks its crazy and he builds up a sweat just watching

Bro - Used to be into it a bit until I started wooping him :D He is verrrry supportive of it and thinks its awesome that I play and that I have a real passion for the sport. He will try atw and have a kick with me sometimes. He also knows quite alot of players just from they're styles and can match the player with a name. His fave player is Ales because he likes the sturdyness of his game.

Budgy - My bird loves watching me play and you can always hear him whistling when I record. (I think the bright coloured bags just turn him on,epecially the way theuy bounce around. lol)
Hopefully back one day.

Mom-She is into it only when I am making good grades.

Dad-Thinks it is a waste of time and I quote "Dont cut your shoes up again!"

Sister-She tries to play but boys and makeup are cooler.

Teachers-Hate it. They try to steal my bag and my chem teacher called my mom once and told her to take all "Hacky Sack" stuff away from me until I make an "A" on one of her exams.

Dog-Woof Woof bark gggrrrrr Bark Woof

Friends- Hacky slackers are jealous  but some of my friends are just like "why waste your time".

Me-I cant live without it.
