Laver Sandals! Daryl Genz STYLE!!!
All right, me and my friend want to turn our old Lavers into Laver Sandals (taking out the tongue.) Does anyone have any instructions or guide lines on how to do this? We don't want to like massacre our lavers.

<SlashC>: oh i had a question about yoru shoes
<SlashC>: do you wear lavers?
RubbermanII: yea
<SlashC>: did you cut the tongue out?
RubbermanII: I jsut got a enw pair
<SlashC>: cause i saw a vid of you and at first i thought you were wearing sandals
RubbermanII: Yea, I cut off the whole end, so there's no place to connect the toung to anymore
RubbermanII: Lavers w/no toes
RubbermanII: or tounge
<SlashC>: how does that affect durability/play
RubbermanII: Plays better
RubbermanII: They last just as long for me
<SlashC>: i'm tempted to attack a pair of andrew's old mesh lavers
RubbermanII: It's the soles that wear out
RubbermanII: it takes a bit of time to get used to
RubbermanII: I kicked in sandles for a year or two before I switched back to lavers
<SlashC>: i have trouble feeling the bag on my toe
<SlashC>: cool
<SlashC>: did you just use like an exacto knife?
RubbermanII: yea
RubbermanII: basically
RubbermanII: get the sharpest knife you can find
RubbermanII: it's tough cutting
RubbermanII: And be careful!!!
<SlashC>: did you cut off the leather bit at the tip as well?
RubbermanII: the whole end is gone
<SlashC>: awesome
RubbermanII: even the white part
<SlashC>: like a laver sandal
RubbermanII: if you know what I mean
<SlashC>: kinda
RubbermanII: My toes stick out of the shoe, it's like 1/2 size too small
RubbermanII: So you have to basially cut it flat with the bottom of the inside of the shoe - if that makes sense
<SlashC>: ok
RubbermanII: otherwise, you have that little ridge sticking up - that gave me some big callouses (sp?) until i realized I had to chop them down

A picture is worth 1000 words:

I'm pretty sure it's the bottom two eylets that are cut out. Shown
are size 9.5, and normally I would not be able to fit in them. If
you have a size that would normally fit, you're gonna have a
big "lip" sticking out in front of your toes (this bothered me, which
is why I sized them down 1/2 pair).
Peace.
