A "Footbag Holiday"

Post by Faco »

I went to Mallorca (next to Ibiza, Spain) for a week and shreded on the beach and on the street at night.
I mostly amazed kids and older people but also got a few responses from younger (mostly football playing) folks. They all wanted to see "The Ronaldo" trick again. Which is, of course, ATW  .

Well, I didn't sell any bags but when I walked the streets at night, a young girl tapped me on my shoulder, smiled and showed some Footbag moves (it was her way of saying:"Hey! You're that guy who does this with a small bag!").
I also shreded next to a guy and his girlfriend on the beach while they were playing drums and they liked it a lot...

So! How did YOU spent YOUR "Footbag Holiday"?

I was in Rio de Janeiro 1½ years ago. I played there a couple of times next to the beach on the street. Just in five minutes about 50 people gathered around me to watch. Everytime I tried to leave people asked me to play more. Some even offered me money, but they looked too poor already so I didn't dare to take anything for just shredding.
It was fun.

We should have a footbag holiday. When everyone goes and has a local shred. Good idea? How about March 28th?

I went to Miami for my reading this week this year and had a fanastic time. I got to session with Dan Klokow next to the beach and then when I was done I ran into the ocean. It was awesome.

On my vacation in Argentina (beautiiful women there), I turned like 10 kids on to footbag, the next time I saw them they all had bags made out of old socks that they had stitched together (and I didn't even tell them anything about making you own, or stitching, or anything, all I did was show them a couple moves with a crocheted bag and a Hacky Sack Striker®)

Well, they say life there is even more expensive and night clubs can be up to 20 Euros entry.

Actually, how about April 10th - the day modified was founded! It can be modified's birthday, instead of footbag's. I tried to figure out the day that footbag was founded but only got the year - 1972. I'd say April 10th would be WAYYY more significant than March 28th.

I was at a Christian conference (like tons of bands, sterios bigger than ur moms mini van, and like 2000 people) with my church and in between the things goin on, me and this other dude would shred. A fellow footbagger came up and joined us. Later we saw some hacky sackers barely keeping it in the air ( bwahaha stupid hacky sackers) so we went over and smeared them, it was awesome

bwahahaha, christian conferences are awesome for shredding :D when I went to hillsong in sydney this year in july (29000 ppl, no joke, it's freaking insane  ) I met up with the sydney guys and we had a few sessions it was great!

also at Planet Shakers (youth conference, about 5000 ppl i think?) me and my mates made this game up called "hottie pop" with a coke bottle hitting it in the air with your hands... if someone dropped it we all chanted "boo ya ka! boo ya ka!" at them while pointing at them... fun for the whole family hehehe

I just got back from my trip to Kelowna BC. I freestyled a couple times with Jon Zaleski and Kurt in 30+ degree celcius weather. Kurt and I played at gyro beach beside a big apple concession stand. I tried to hit big apple, but failed. Attempted little apple... and failed. I wore a bikini instead. After the shred we jumped into the lake.

We found some new footbag shoes in Kelowna while looking for shredshoes for her. They're basically socks with an instep. Maybe I'll posted some pictures later.

I also played almost everyday at the resort on the tennis courts or in the work out center. My buddy Travis came up on wednesday and we shredded a bunch even on golf courses. I made divuts with my lavers. My mom hit 5 toe stalls in a row in her golf shoes and then clubbed my sandbag 40 yards.

I love Footbag.
