No, no. I'm going to tell Chris to post in here more often to spark conversations. I don't think I've ever had this many people post in here in such a short span of time.bigdirtyfoot wrote:Sorry Moxie, for ruining your blog. Please feel free to kick us all out.
This conversation reminded me of a small band I saw in at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago years ago. Sloppy Meateaters had this song Fat Chicks that went like this:
"Fat Chicks"
I sit on my stool looking hip and cool
The radio's blasting Blink182
I wish I could be on TRL
I wish I didn't have to front the shelves
She rolls up in her mommies car
Tank top and sports bra
Pulls out the credit card
It happens every time
Fat chicks always pay inside
While the beautiful girl pays outside with her credit card
Cuz with credit cards you aint gotta pay inside
The cooler's all stocked the bathrooms are mopped
I watch all the fiends spend all their money
Hello, and how are you today?
The king of Cash 3 won't go away
I want you to think about me when your
Out pumping your gas you look up at me
I'm stocking candy and making coffee
I sit and I dream about SME
Whoa oh oh oh - she's singing to me!

Had a nice session w/ Moxie today at the Wedding Bluffs, the new prime shred spot. It was on and off shred/skooling, pretty fun, with some accompaniment by local children singing a repetitive one-line stanza from a song for more than 45 minutes.
Highlights:
Emily-
DATW both sides! (3 on strong, 1 on flip, so many footed)
pixie (op) osis
osis>drifter (a new link?)
Jeremy-
. . .
100+ contact tiltless run, w/ 30 or so guileless moves thrown in there
not much else really, was breaking in some shiny new red lavers

Sorry Sam, didn't know it was a private joke between you two.
Saturday Aug. 6th
Jeremy, Amelia and I played at the tennis courts.
-I spilled burrito on myself.
-I hit smear for the first time.
-Someone else got scarily close to hitting something new too...
Sunday Aug. 7th
-Turned out that I couldn't work on Sunday... so I rode down to LA since Dat and Jeremy were already going. Before I left I decided to break away from the shackles of our modern society. I did not bring my phone, money, ID, clothes, extra shoes, and anything else someone would usually bring for a two day/two night trip. I had the clothes on my back (and a credit card just in case), but that was it. I think I want to go camping with no equipment next. (Thank you for the sweatshirt Amelia
)
-Saw Willy Wonka and liked it as much as I thought I would.
-See Grom's Blog. It covered everything else that I could think to talk about.
Tomorrow will be fun

Today Amelia, Jeremy and I had a lot of fun. We did fun stuff, met fun people, ate fun food. And it was pretty fun... if only it conveyed emotion. I'll tell you about it. First, some cool stuff happened. We met Stephen and his grandmother Kathy at the train station. We wined them then dined them at a creperie. Fat from our food, we went to Stanford campus.
Jeremy played with Stephen while I played with Amelia who hit butterfly from op toe for the first time on both sides. Then we joined the rest of the circle which contained Steve Goldberg, Stephen Barnes, Ben, Jeremy, and Brian. Jeremy hit whirlwind, fury>symp whirl, cross body cloud freeze>half spinning infinity, drifter caught on cross body sole, whirr>torque, some shifty mirages, and some other stuff. I didn't play very well but hit datw both sides, osis>osis x8, and drifter>drifter. Dustin hit paradox whirl both sides for the first time
, 4 ripwalks (2 was his previous record), stepping osis, and whirl>drifter>whirl. Stephen hit 17 ripwalks, blurry whirl, barfly bsos, lots of drifters, a few stepping ducking sets out of stuff midrun, came close to alpine blurry whirl, lots of great strings with stepping sets, and I don't remember what else. He'll probably write in his blog. Steve Goldberg hit spinning eclipse, sole>crossbody rake, outside set pixie clipper, outside set crossbody rake, and a lot of other stuff. Brian had some good runs but I'm not sure what he hit because I didn't get to play with for very long. Ben was hitting a lot of toe blurs, he linked a lot of ripwalks, eggbeater>toe dlo, and fast paradons.
We played 4-square as always. Brian won one game, I won another, but Steve was a mondo bastard and won like 4 games. I managed to almost fall over from a completely still, standing position.
Edit: and my awesome Jason fixed my computer for me.

Last night: Late night skooling session with Jeremy.
Edit: yeah, and that was really worth reading.
But I guess I don't feel bad because I write in here for me not others.

"Miss you?" Are you trying to... but anyway. If I'm in the state, you know I'm there -but only if you're there. Seriously.
