David is right. IF voting was based on the players level, then whats the point of a competition? If your trick isnt good enough compared to others, then bad luck, hit a better one next time. Thats what competition is all about.

If you enter to compete and just have fun, then good work! But if you enter to try and win a competiiton, then obviously player skills are irrelevant. Thats why i hate handicaps in golf!

A couple of comments. I thought Anssi's move was "the" so I placed him last of what I thought were the "open" competitors. In a real competion I would not count a trick I thought was "the" at all. I really liked Travis' move despite putting it last - that move is one of my favourite moves at the moment. It's just a bit easy. I think comments like "this component is too easy for you" are stupid - you should be judging in comparison surely. I guess it's concievable to make that comment but not judge based on it but I'd make that clear so that I wouldn't look like a tool.

I do aim to be unbelievable in everything I do .

Just a quick note: The reason why the events are pretty low key and there are not many entrys is because of worlds and Euro's last month, you will notice that many people did'nt get time to enter (for example Jorden) but that's cool, the competition will carry on none the less .
Some of the stuff hit this month was really cool! I am still getting over how cool Kevin's flailing ducking set is , and it is GREAT to see some newer players entering also!

The voting pages should be up soon (I hope) I need to find the time to edit the new names into them and get them to Travis for hosting, but time is something I have little to none of at the moment , my appoligiez.

Three dexes, difficult set, unique flow of dexes, video is choppy = hard to judge execution. Next step = levitating whirl

3. Jeremy Mirken - whirring swirl
Three dexes, excellent execution, dexes flow well, been hit by a handful of others players = slight deduction. Next step = whirring rev whirl?

4. David Clavens - nemEsis
Four dexes, dexes flow easily, appearingly good execution (video could be brighter), becoming a more common trick = deduction. Next step = arch nemesis or furious drifter

5. Michal Biarda - frantic illusion
Three dexes, tricky footwork, slightly uncommon set followed by very common downtime element. Nice step = turning the illusion into a double down. Also, fill the frame and zoom in when filming. I can't see the bag!

6. Phil Morrison - ducking scorpion's tail (not the same as alpine!)
Good blend of elements, low difficulty from set to peak, double down from a duck provides the difficulty, respectably clean. Next step = superdeeduperfly or alpine venom

7. Kevin Regamey - symposium atomic ducking butterfly
Difficult elements from set to peak, very easy downtime element, true 'flailing' set would earn maximum points. Next step = replacing butterfly with whirl, or trying symposium atomic leggy style

8. Henry Griese - symposium atomic drifter
Good uptime and downtime elements, clean trick, seal could be improved, a step up from last month! Next step = fs silo or symp atomic grifter

9. Joe Kulacz - fury
Three dexes, great execution, fairly common set followed by standard downtime element, visually appealing but lacks 'big trick' difficulty. Next step = genesis or fission. Use the zoom on your cam also

10. Anssi Sundberg - nemesis
Four dexes, dexes flow easily, appeared very thin, I have witnessed you hit this cleaner. Next step = see Dave's above

11. Nic Bathgate - fog
Three dexes, very clean, solid 5 add, lacking difficulty in uptime and downtime components. Next step = toe fog or predator

12. Jesse Malouf - spikehammer
Solid 5, could not see the bag! zoom in a lot more and film in a brighter area. Next step = bs spikehammer or avalanche

13. Toby Suggate - smoke
Very clean, only 4 adds, no overly difficult elements. Next step = porque or alpine smoke

14. Asmus Helms - pixie miraging stallberger
Styley trick, only 3 adds, low difficulty, stallberger could be held for longer. Next step = smog or bs smear-berger Film during the day for better lighting

15. Travis Montoya muted pixie same clipper
3 adds, very low difficulty, work on maintaining balance and posture, glad to see you entering the competitions, hope to see bigger and better things from you in the future! Next step = pixie butterfly

Seconded. Its a waste of 30 seconds worth of my life, and my download time.

I thought the level for this months comps was quite high. 2 Nemesis entries? Furious, frantic, flailing and moshing sets all in the same month. Awesome level. People need to be much more careful about how they film though. Half the entries were so zoomed out, it was hard to determine cleanliness.

In no particular order, here are my breakdowns of the moves. At the very end, I`ll rank as many as I feel like.

Nic Bathgate: fog. Decently executed. Next time see if you can get lit from the front, the backlighting makes it a bit hard to make out the bag. I think fog is a legit 5, but definitely pretty vanilla.

Michal Biarda: frantic illusion. Props on the originality, I had never seen this hit before. Unfortunately, this was so zoomed out it was hard for me to see how clean all the dexes were. Seriously, this was needlessly zoomed out. Even one meter closer and it would have been easier to see the dexes. You get points for originality, but your camerawork really devalues this trick.

Dave Clavens: Nemesis. Isnt it weird you can have nemesis in these comps and not win? I thought this nemesis was clean enough, but it definitely could have been better. Like, if I hit nemesis on vid like this, I would try and hit it cleaner, but if somebody asked me if I`ve hit nemesis, I could truthfully answer "yes."

Henry G: flailing drifter. Phat trick. But shit dude, half of the picture frame is ground. get a tripod or somebody to shoot for you, cause this angle sucks. This trick ranks real high in my book though, because its so rare, and so hard. I`ve only seen this once before in person, and I think its super styly. Also, the drifter is really paradox off of that set, so that also scores points.

Asmus: smearburger. Cute trick. Real easy. I did like the dramatic effect of the earth shaking when you stalled it.

Joe K: Fury. Cool trick, well executed. But getting pretty common these days. Probably needs a harder downtime component to break into the top tier this month. Again, this needs to be zoomed in. You take up like 20% of the screen. I caught myself admiring the scenery instead of watching you.

Jesse Malouf: spy camera. Nice trick, but I can hardly see the bag. Until the final catch, you could have been pantomiming for all I know. Palm trees are scenic, but like the previous entry, you need to zoom in. Similar to Michals, this is too zoomed out to really tell if its all clean.

Jeremy Merkon: whirring swirl. World class difficulty, cleanly executed, clearly visible. Rare trifecta of excellence. In plain English: a hard trick, hit cleanly, and shot well. The ingredients of a champion.

Travis Montoya: muted pixie clipper. This wasn`t very well shot, I had trouble seeing the bag. A stylish, but easy trick. The camera work hurts you.

Phil M: alpine scorpion. Hard trick, decently executed, well shot. The double down could definitely have been deeper, but it wasn`t the. Solid entry, up there at the top.

Tom Mosher: Moshing whirl. Alright, this trick needs to be shot with a better frame rate. The whirl looked clean to me, but I really feel this is a trick I need to see frame by frame to make sure all the dexes are clean. The swirl especially seems easy to the. On sheer creativity and difficulty, this ranks extremely high. If I had to rank this months moves theoretically (not seeing video), this would probably win. But I can`t in good conscience rank this as #1 w/o better video.

Kevin Regamey: flailing ducking butterfly. Wow, big props. I was trying this trick a while back, and its trickier than it seems. Well executed. If you had hit anything harder than butterfly off the set, I would give you more props, but then, I understand pretty well how hard a set that is. The fact that I`d never seen that set before also nets you points. This is way up there in the rankings, shot at podium even.

Toby S: Smoke. Same as Nic`s, this should be lit better. Hard to see the bag. Standard 4, nice stylish trick.

Anssi: Nemesis. I know you can hit this cleaner, so I was a bit surprised you submitted this one. That barfly is definitely sketchy. The fact that Dave also submitted nemesis drops this a bit.

Honza Weber: pixie food? pixie torquescrew? Too hard to tell. That last dex is so small...

My Sick 3 breakdowns:

Peter Bowler: osis-guay-whirl. OK, this needs to be shot better. It was hard to see the bag, and in Sick3 cleanliness of links AND moves is key, so this was hard to really process. I think the whirl was "the" though. Still, stylish combo. I look forward to seeing future entries so I can see your progress.

Ben Adler:legover-atw-legover: Solid tiltless combo. I would have liked to see a direction change though in the first two moves. Like, pickup-atw-legover, or legover-atw (i-o)-legover. Cause really, the first two tricks are pretty much the same trick.


Nic Bathgate: Spinning paradox mirage > Atomsmasher > Fairy ducking osis Nice combo. Good variety, spinning pdx, atomic xdex, alpine. I especially liked the variety. The fairy ducking osis could have been hit with more textbook form, but it was all legit. Solid high-intermediate entry.


Josh Gayhart: Frantic Legover > Phoenix > Spinning Butterfly Swirl

Cool! I processed this as: stylish first trick, easy filler 5, rare and hard 5. So a good combo. None of the links are that hard though, and the first two tricks use very similar sets. I basically felt like your right leg did all the hard parts (frantic, pixie ducking, and swirl). Good entry overall.


Chris May: Double around the world > Blender > Paradox symposium whirl. Very stylish combo, but I think the ps whirl was thin. The links arent especially hard, and both whirls are with the same leg. You do net points though for doing the datw with the other leg, as it shows bothsidedness and adds balance to the combo. The 2 things that hurt this entry is that ps whirl is easy (and thin), and that double atw, while cool, isnt that hard. Just a bit too easy.

Phil Morisson: Flurry > Symposium whirl > Ripstien: Nice! So well executed. Flurry was legit, but could be deeper, and the second link is kinda baily, but the last link is hard and stylish. Definitely would have liked to see a more challenging trick sandwiched in the middle, or a harder link, but the overall excellent execution of the combo makes this one stand out.

Aaron Orton:phoenix > Ripped Warrior > Tomahawk: I like the idea of consecutive ducking 5s going back and forth. That said, I have troule giving props for phoenix anymore, especially as the first trick in a combo. I also though the whirl in Tomahawk was thin, if not the. The last link is also not that hard. Overall though, stlyish idea, but a tad easy and a bit better execution would help its chances.


Toby Suggate: Pixie ss clipper > whirl > ducking clipper. Nice combo. The lighting made it a bit hard to make out the whirl, but I think it was there. Good entry, look forward to seeing you get better.

Anssi Sundberg: Janiwalker > Tomahawk > Motion. Good tricks, but the links seemed pretty easy. I mentally took this one in as: well executed hard 5, easy link to basic 5, easy link to easy 5.

Basically, I thought this month came down to Phil vs. Anssi. I give it to Phil in a close one, just because i thought his was a bit stylier with harder links. As for a 4-4-4 beating a 5-5-5, I have to say that I think that flurry and ripstein are both harder and stylier than most 5s, including the ones in Anssi`s combo.
