Byrin Wylie -- Oh - No - Way Footbag

Post by B_Man »

Size: 22 megs
Song: N.E.R.D. - Rockstar (Jason Remix)

Oh - No - Way Footbag!

My best shred video yet. Those who felt a bit let down on my last video WILL NOT be dissappointed - I repeat, WILL NOT be dissappointed - with this one!!

Please leave your thoughts, whether it be in this thread or in my blog (where I will also post another link) as I would like criticism on any and all aspects of my game, the video editing or whatever else you think could use some work.

Enjoy!

nice vid Byrin! Hardcore session indeed;
My favorite parts were the

- gyro dlo > atom smasher > legbeater > gyro dlo > atomsmasher
- mobius > sidewalk > run

you wanted criticism?
Ok: too much shuffle to my taste. But that's just me.

man. that was pretty solid. the stuff you use is really down pat.

my advice ranges in a few areas:

1) i think your shuffle does overpower the rest of your elements. use drifters, ducking clippers, and more spins. even if they are 3's they will break up this whole hardcore shuffle you have going on. shuffle is great, just saying you could use more elements.

2) with the shuffle, it seems most of it is pixie/stepping. you can obviously atomic, use that more. quantum, fairy, furious (?), try diversifying your shuffle.

3) i like your style, but it could perhaps be a bit looser. this could open up more doors along the lines of styly varietyish links.

thats all i have. your way above the level where i can find tons of stuff to critique, but there are a few things mentioned above that *probably* wouldnt hurt, depending on where you want your game to go.

Thank you for the constructive criticism Max and David, I really appreciate it. I've just started dipping back into the world of DLOs and my Drifters, spins and most ducks are fairly solid so I'll make the effort to throw them in.

I'm just curious, but what do you mean when you say it could be a bit looser?

I really appreciate what you guys have said so far :)

Ahh man, I love that style, one of my favourites! Your atomic is so crisp, and stepping ducking is so hot right now ;).
I love seeing mobius mid run, it is a great move to add size to a string, I think it is really underused in footbag.
One thing I was thinking when I watched was there ain't much single leg double dexs! I wana see janiwalkers and flurrys! I wana see double downs and double swich/pickups :D

Byrin do you have a challenge thread?
If so I've got a couple of downtime combo ideas for you in case you're looking for inspiration.

Oh and by no means drop the shuffle, I just think that a good mix of downtime and shuffle makes for some nice runs.

You made me late for work this morning :/

Seriously -- this video was unbelieveable. I couldn't stop watching. The combination of powerful shred and the epic music was really overpowering!

I don't think your style could be any more loose. You are a STYLE MACHINE. You look relaxed for shuffle, and your style is BETTER than textbook! I hope so much you can come to Hackrifice and I can finally shred with you!!

I can't wait for more videos from you!
Thanks Byrin -- you rock!
