Yeah,
The vid is pretty sick, I had about ten tapes worth. The sickest stuff was of Lon, Jim, Bevier, and Jorden. I taped Jorden doing so insanely random stuff in my kitchen that is pure gold. Also got a lot of fearless runs from Lon and Jim, and a few from Jorden. Good video worthy runs for sure. I am looking forward to kicking it in Seattle this weekend. Sam and Scott are always a blast to kick it with!

I've already watched a lot of what Justin took, and man -- everyone was going off. I'm upset now that I didn't get to kick with Noah on his good day. He had some awesome runs! The kitched shred was inspiring, though. The kitchen shred that I was a part of started with Jorden and Daryl trying tatw for a while, then it progressed to me asking him to break down grifters, slicing, blazing, and surging for me. I ended up relearning how to think about illusions, and saw him hit (too easily) stuff like 4x royale, and before that phasing rev swirling blender, etc... Argh he's a mad man. Very inspiring, though. Thanks for your tips, Jorden! I can surge cleanly on each side, I just haven't hit anything out of it yet. I don't think I'm quite ready for grifters or slicing, though. Soon!

This was probably the best Sole Purpose session we have had to date. It was Noah, Brian, and myself. Everyone was on, and the general level of play has gone way up.
Noah
This was probably my favorite session watching Noah. He has stepped it way up, and was hitting combos that had a strong mix of variety and high add ratio combinations. I can't even remember all the things he layed down, but they were eye catching for sure. His rakes are off the hook now, hard technical moves ending in rakes. Some of the stuff he was doing I did not understand the first (and second) times I saw them. He layed down a 20+ combo with seven or eight insanely hard rake moves throughout it, ending with a crazy one he had never hit before. Hopefully he will chime in and rattle off what they were. Noah is definitely in a break out level now, his add ratio is pretty high and he can throw fives as well as variety and length inside his combos now. Sickness!

Brian's a machine. Much like Jim, he pushes through shuffle tripless combos with ease. Every time he shows up, he is just a tad better than the last time he came out. Today was more nasty quantum/atomic/nuclear runs with a great amount of spins and ducks. The variety is coming in pretty fast. In my opinion he had the combo of the day...he hit a triple dex from his toe to start out a long combo, I did not catch it though and asked Noah if Brian had just hit Frantic Butterfly. Brian replied instead while shredding "that was Sailing, this is Frantic." and nailed the move right there inside the combo. Both Noah and I thought that was pretty slick. Also inside a combo he hit Ducking Butterfly to Jani Walker, a first for him I think. I also saw him have a pretty close attempt at Jani Walker Swirl. He also tried (and got surprisingly close to) Frantic Ducking. It wasn't far away. Again, sickness.
Red
This was one of my best days thus far. I have been on a new training program, and have noticed a huge difference even in the last couple of days. In Seattle last weekend, I was shredding alright, but it was all pretty standard tool kit stuff. The next day when I came back I started this cross-training program, basically a mix of cycling, swimming, rock climbing at the gym, an ab workout, and schooling a routine outside of shredding (which is 3+ days a week). I also stepped up my diet, no dairy, and mostly organic and fruits. Anyway, it seems to work really well. Today hit
-6 fearless (my record)
Phoenix-Blurry Whirl-Blurry Whirl-Spinning Paradox Whirl-Scorpion Tail-Mobius-hand catch. I should have kept going but I wanted the seal. I am fairly confident I can make it to ten fearless, the six did not feel like a fluke. It will take some work though, but I have the ten mapped out already, and have hit all the links, just not in that many fearless.
-BSOS Giro DLO's, with my left side hit Spin-Spinning Paradox Whirl-Giro DLO.
-Double Spinning Clipper to Bedwetter into combo.
-Plasma
-Paradox Legbeater-Bedwetter (which is going to be the start of the ten fearless I want)

Due to my previous knee injury though, my flip is limited to a random Jani Walker once per session at best. On a whole, had a lot of fun.
I was sad Nick, Jake, Andrew, and Sean were not there. But it did open up for a great three man shred circle. No school session today. Just plain throwin' down with a lot of good energy.

Anyway, I just thought I'd ask around here if you guys have any preferences for when the jam should be so we can throw out some tentative dates? The sooner the better, so we can push for it being not just the usual hustle and flow.

The Sole Purpose Footbag Group is now sponsored by a local company, Pine Meadow Golf. They are going to be covering our t-shirts, which will be soccer style, with the SP logo on them as well as the PMG logo. It is my hopes that we will get our entry fees into competition covered soon, but this is a nice first step. Portland welcomes back the these two legendary footbag icons, their presence only strengthens the Sole Purpose Group even further. So much for the "Kenny Come Home" webpage I was going to create though. Welcome home Kenny and Kendall.

Jeez, I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, but work is now just so time consuming. I'm schedualed for the worst time of day, 11-7, so my entire day gets eaten up. I still play almost every morning though, and I'm hitting some good stuff for me. I hit Torque -> Blender bsos the other day, and I'm getting my flip spin, I can throw it in almost any string now. I just bought some new Lavers, and they seem to be lighter and more stable then my old shoes, which is a plus, but they still need to break in a little more before they are kick ass. I'm having to kick with a sand bag, becuase I have no Panel bags, but I'm fixing that tomorrow, when I mail my Money Order to Richard Abshire to get a new bag. I really wish that I was able to make more sessions with the group, but most of the time it seems you guys play on the days that I have to work. I don't work on Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday. My schedual is now stable and I DON'T WORK THOSE DAYS!!! ( they made me come in one wednesday when there was an epic session, really made me sad 
) Anyway, I hope to see you guys soon, and keep up the good shred!

Nice to hear from you again, Nick. Sounds like your shredding is progressing good. Mine's coming along lots better since Portland. It might have helped if I would have footbagged before I came to Portland instead of taking two weeks off to drink instead of kick. Oh well, I won't make that mistake for Seattle. Hope to see the Portland crew there.

Damn! That's all I have to say about the shred on saturday.... Although Noah and Brian couldn't make it, and despite Red's injury, we tore it up! Jake's style has become so much better, he's starting to get more of a steady rhythem, and he can go titless most of the time for like 15 contacts. Red also came close to inspinning DLO, which was huge, and was alos pulling some unique stuff out of his ass through an injury. Strangly his Symposium whirl didn't hurt, but normal whirl did, so he was busting a lot of symposium whilrs. I also hit Fairy legbeater to start a string, then hit P.S. Whirl and scorpion's tail all in the same string... on video! I also finally sealed Alpine Matador with a handcatch. We got some good footage, and hopefully we'll get it up on the site soon

Shit Red, the situation with my ride is so fucked right now (it's totally useless/undriveable at this point) that I won't be able to make it out there any time soon. Hope is still alive for the fall though, we'll see what happens. Sounds like your shred is tasty, can't wait to sesh with you and the posse.

But Zender, you should make it out sooner or later. Make it up to me by coming to the Seattle Tourney, then to Portland's events next summer. Keep shredding, beeeotch!
Anyway, all is going well with the team, the kids are kicking ass, blah blah, rep rep. I am taking it easy for a little while, letting by knee heal up before it gets really bad. Can still freestyle, but can't whirl, barfly, drifter of any kind with my right leg for a while. I have had this injury before and kicked right through it, but don't really want to risk it now, being as the season is slowing down now anyway. Good time to take a rest. The team is kicking with someone from Las Vegas (I think) named Ben tomorrow evening. Alex Zerbe and Matt Baker are in town too, and will probably be staying at my crib for a couple of days. We are all going out for Noah's birthday tonight, hope I get a little sleep.

Ben from Las Vegas is the bomb!
I was highly impressed and not at all expecting the skill he brought. Today it was Jake Wren, Brian Cooper, Ben, and myself. As usual, Brian thundered through one long ass highly technical combo after another. Jake stepped it up, the blurry whirls and blurriests will be solid here pretty soon. He still reminds me of a young Ryan with his speed and precision. I showed him flurry, and he almost nailed it first try. For the short amount of time he has been shredding (January) he is catching up fast.
Again, we were highly impressed with Ben, his smoothness and good form match Nick Landes easily. He executed his Spinning Paradox Whirls a great amount of control, and his swirling/reverse swirling stuff was butter. What really impressed me was again the form he played with though, much like Vaska he had a very soft step, and pointed his toe down for every move executed. I hope we can shred with him again before he leaves, Noah and Nick especially were no shows. I enjoyed watching Ben play a lot, he was also a really nice guy. The girl he was with was also a pretty good player, Lavers, hitting clippers, ATW's, leg overs and mirages. I did not catch her name unfortunately. Good company!
For myself, whatever hiatis I thought I was taking is over again. Guess I pulled one of those miraculous Red recoveries again, my knee healed up faster than I expected. Still staying away from too many whirling combos on my right side for another week though. I did not play with the precision of my last great session, but the legs felt a lot stronger and my cardio was way up=many long combos. It was a fun day, Ben was inspiring to watch. Good stuff!

I am very happy, I just purchased a iMac G5 for my various mulitmedia projects. Goodbye Adobe Premiere, hello Final Cut Pro. I could not take the glitchiness of Premiere anymore. Final Cut is a much more professional and powerful tool. I am pysched to begin editing freestyle video on it.
Tomorrow I am shredding with Ben again as well.

Haven't posted for a while, been pretty busy with the business of life. Had a good weekend though, went down to the Eugene area for the Beaver Open, and got a couple of chances to kick with the homeboys down there.
Saturday we had a fun session, James has been taking it easy this summer, but still throwin' down some great stepping combos, and really putting in his work in for the spinning moves (vortex!) Aaron has improved greatly from the last time I saw him at CSS 6. Great Surging Sets, super clean Whirrs both sides, and great spinning combos. I believe he hit Sunil Walker for the first time our first session as well, it looked great. He definitely puts a lot of his heart in the game, and it shows. He also had some great 3 fives combos. Also, a TEXT book Alpine Blurry Whirl which was also very clean and did not look too difficult. On my end both sessions were good, they were not quite the quality of my Portland sessions of late, but still great and a lot of fun, though I had to put a little more effort into it than usual. Hit a few new fearless combos, and the usual tripless runs, but no record breakers for me. I took it as a compliment when James asked me if I really thought I was having a bad day. Though I was joking about it here and there, both days of kicking were pretty fun.
The Beaver Open was pretty cool, just a three day camp and kick event, with a fair amount of first and second generation kickers. The night golf was a trip, along with the fact it was held in the Renaissance Festival area of the Oregon fairgrounds. Next year if I do not go to Funtastik, we will be bringing more current freestylers to the scene. I think Daryl and Sunny and possibly Jim will be there next year. The Beaver Open is definitely an experience, with a lot of footbag history that goes way way way back before my knowledge. Good times!

We'll set up another jam for him when he comes back up, and hopefully have more of the team representing, including Kenny Shults hopefully. In fact, Thursday is when I officially introduce Kenny to the new Sole Purpose freestyle group. Everyone is pretty psyched, should be a good day of shred.
