I-Kix Feedback (Everyone that owns one please contribute!)

Post by Jorden »

Hi guys,

As many of you know, I distributed many I-Kix electronic footbag samples in Helsinki, primarily at the amusement park venue. For all that received a sample: What did you like/dislike about this footbag? In what way could the footbag be improved upon, in your opinion. Please be as thorough as possible with your reply. With your help, the product may very well be fully shreddible in the future.

Thanks in advance,

Jorden

I took one of your ikix's at Linnanmäki, Jorden.. But the same day i left it under the train :) . before that my record at kicking was over 200, i think. The bag was not symmetrich, that wasn't good...but i say that no one really can't shred with a bag like that.

I saw one this past weekend. I had a good laugh at it. Sorry to say i would never buy one. Not only was it not symetrical, but the big electronic thing in it makes it hard to kick with. Personally i prefer a hand stitched bag that will not talk back to me. Although, i could see it as a potential product for a little kid i guess.

alright, seeing as no one has done as asked, i guess i'll start it off. Obviously the first thing that needs fixed is the shell of the chip. It needs to be if smaller and spherical. Next step is the make the bag bigger. The reason is so you can add more filler to it so the big shell doesn't make kicks as random. There are problems when you get to 110, 120, 210, 220, 310, ect. The voice gets cut off early. I also think it would be more fun if it beeped everytime you kicked it rather than just for the first 10 and then once every 5 kicks. Also, the chip needs to subtract 1 before it says the score because it hitting the ground adds one. Whats good is the way you activate it and how long before it shuts off. However the time to say the score should be shortened by mabey 1.5 seconds. That way it makes it harder to cheat and you can start again faster rather then just standing around.

Iain pretty much summed it all up. Only thing I'd like to add is to make it talk a bit slower at the end. It says the score so fast that you (especially foreign people) allmost miss it if you don't know what it says.

But round center and more filling and it's alot better. (and maybe add another thousand to the counter  )

It was OUR record! -- And we didn't jus kick it

Sorry Jorden but I really think that I-kix bags suck... :? That's a toy compared with pro footbags.
Want it to be shreddible? - Leave all mechanic stuff out. If I remember right the material could also be better.

sometimes you've been kicking for quite a while and maybe even broken your record and all of a sudden (without dropping the bag) it starts counting over from the beginning- so your highscore is gone...

the idea of this reminds me of that thing that little girls tie to their leg and spin it and jump over it and it keeps count of how many they can do, that being said, i wouldnt mind getting one of these when they reach a less glitchy state of being.
