Yo Derrick,

I will be back in Kingston sometime soon, though not before Sunday.

My mom has been talking as though I am staying here for the rest of the summer but she is way wrong.

I'll figure something out soon.

Shred hard derrick.

Hello Tom! I'm in the frozen north, but I'll be back in september. Actually, it's about twelve degrees out today, and when you're out of the wind it feels positively balmy...

Good to hear your euro adventure went so well. We will have many stories to exchange when I get back I'm sure. Anyway, good luck till then.

Sick Jared! Have fun doing whatever the hell you are doing!

Apparently Derrick is better than me at footbag now! I can't wait to see him bust in real life again.

I think I am gonna go back to kingston tomorrow or something.

I also hear that Greg Raymond is alive and busting in Kingston.

I am stoked for the kingston scene.

Kingston!

I think I just had the strongest shred of my life!

I drove out to Guelph for a shred with Jon Haber and I felt totally on!

Hmmm some highlights were.. whirl>blurry whirl in a string and a different string that ended on torque>barfly which was the second side in BSOS and um.. strong long strings in general. I hit pdx whirl>drifter>dlo BSOS! yeah! and um.. a string with tomahawk one side and blurry whirl on the other.

I felt so light and fast and confident today. Playing with Jon Haber is really good for my game, he gets me doing concepts that I often neglect.

Knowing the way I felt today I see no reason why I can't become amazing at footbag. I feel it! there is no single element holding me back, I want to run with this shit and see how far I can get.

I was doing alot of fun components like.. calf rolls to inside. I was doing these inside tootsie rolls back to back and ss roll>op roll rpt and stuff like that. Jon had me hit atomic inside roll, that felt cool. I also did stepping knee bumping whirl, fun stuff.

So yeah, I plan on getting fucking amazing at footbag, I am stoked for life.

Today I announced on footbag.org and on modified the newest tournament in the elite series of ASS events... KICKASS!!!!

Everyone in the world is invited to the first ever (annual??) Kingston Invitational Circle Kicking And Shred Symposium!!

I am super duper stoked for this event! This will be my first chance to have my hand in every little detail of the organizing and I have full intentions of making this a real incredible experience.

I feel like Ive learned alot in regards to proper tournament planning and I am eager to put all my thinking to practice.

I am going to use a picture of Aleksi Airinen doing a flail for the shirt image, the picture looks so alive!

I will have lots of details regarding this event coming soon.

I still have lots of things from Europe on my mind. It was such a moving experience overall. I met so many wonderful characters that were so fabulously interesting. I really miss some people already and I totally miss the partying and the abundance of happy.

I really didn't go into nearly as much depth as I wanted about some of the really great people. I felt like if I got started blabbing about one great person I would get stuck in that mode and spend pages and pages running on about all the others. I think it's really wonderful that I got to meet so many people that I could go on and on about. sigh.. footbag people are the greatest! :D

I miss the daily presence of oodles of magical characters. I feed off footbag players so much!

I havn't been stitching enough lately. The lighting isn't good enough in the room I feel comfy enough to stitch in here in Oakville.

Looks like I am going back to Kingston tomorrow.
Hein shred will be busted.

Derrick, get ready to start drilling like mad, lets get our blades wicked sharp for KICKASS!

PS everybody within a bunch of hours of Kingston BETTER come! This tournament is going to be sooooo fucking good! 8)

Hey Tom!

It was very nice to meet you in Wroclaw, and then once again in Warsaw!

I'm happy that everything went ok with your trip! *Maybe except that you couldn't change your flight to Copenhagen for a later one*.

Good to hear from you Pawel. :)

Jdigges wrote:Hey Tom, i've been wondering to some degree. How did you actually break mikko's bike?
That's a very good question.
Firstly, Mikko's bike isn't the bike that I am pictured jumping over, I didn't harm that bike. :P

I broke Mikko's bike doing something silly. I was cruising around on it enjoying myself when I attempted something that didn't work out so well.
The front wheel has a fender that was attatched by little metal rods that connect the fender to the center of the wheel. I had this idea that I could probably ride along with my feet on these little rods using them as steering. I put my feet in position and and just as I took my hands off the bars, the toes of my right foot got sucked into the spinning wheel and then of course as the wheel spun forward, so too did my foot, until it got stopped as it became jammed between the spokes and the fork. I still had forward momentum so the bike and hence the wheel kept trying to roll forwards but since my foot was jammed in the spokes when the wheel rolled forward four spokes got snapped out of place and the wheel got all bent up.

oops!

I think the only people that saw it happen were Dustin Rhodes and his father Paved Rhodes.

KICKASS planning is coming along great. I even have a checklist!

I got the first sponsor of the event last night. I went in to apply for a job at the local head shop (bong store) and one thing led to another and I wound up getting my first ever tiny sponsorship.

He said that in exchange for putting his logo on the shirt/poster/flier he would give me $25 dollars. tee hee, it's a start! I am going to buy $25 worth of stuff from the store to give out as prizes.

VIDA MAKES AMAZING BAGS NOW!!!!
She got SOOOOO good while I was away, I am very proud of her. Everyone should buy her bags because they are fucking goooood!

I shredded with Greg Raymond yesterday finally!!!
He's really good and he has amazing control and style and I am very stoked that there is a player of his skill level in town for good! I invited him to join the Militia and he accepted! So there is a new member of the Kingston Footbag Militia!

I think my only real accomplishment yesterday shredding was pdx DLO BSOS for my first time, that felt so good. Especially considering I hadn't hit the trick until a few days ago.

I sooooo hope I get the job at the bong shop!!!! That is the IDEAL job for me!!! All I would have to do would be sit there all day talking about bong and pipes and papers and listen to music and shit. I could probably sit there stoned the whole time too.. it would almost be expected of me! hahah
I could probably even stitch while I am there and make money while I make money!

I hope, oh I hope!

I owe my parents $3000 for my Europe trip. Anyone want to buy a footbag to help get me out of debt? :)

props on the PDX DLO BSOS! thats such a fun trick! i still need to hit it on my flipside. my regular flipside DLOs felt so awesome today! i think tis because i've been trying flipside pixies so much for the last few sessions. it made my left toe alot more controled.

Try PDX Eggbeater BSOS now tom!

Ugh, this page is unreadable thanks to the monster picture. :? Everybody make senseless posts so we get to a new page. Seeing how this is Moshers blog, we should be able to accomplish this real soon.
