after all of yesterdays spillings the day started to become rad once more. I spent a solid hour of work looking at kylie minogue pictures :D after work I kicked with jere and it was the best sess i've had in a great while. everything felt super controlled. hit torque>barfly again, had one string with blur>phoenix midstring and pdx torque but dropped on flip pdx torque. hit alpine parkwalk>pdx torque. started stepping some more. tapdown>ripwalk bsos, muted crispy grifter>warrior to start a string (some say atomic clipper, but that's lame lol  ) atom smasher b2b, almost had atomic ducking (landed on neck) started doing quantums again. had duck clip>div clip three times through in one string (each set was separated by shred, not b2b. getting a lot closer to ducking one-touch drill. my summer goal was to learn ducking and get that drill by the time school starts. I only have 2 more weeks to hit that drill.

(edit: forgot about a styley link: backside terrage>paradon to start a string and my first ever midstring matador)

went skinny dipping for the first time ever last night with my three friends kaila, dana, and jeff. It was frickin cold but refreshing at the same time.

my dad signed my cosigning papers for a place to live today. hopefully the property management place accepts my application. booyah, 3 blocks from campus. moving from my parents basement to someone elses basement. i'm excited.

yo

On september eleventh, we have a footbag demo at this ice cream social. Right after us, the mayor goes on :!: right after the mayor, the president of the university goes on :!: This is gonna be a huge opportunity for the recognition of footbag from our city Missoula. and we get paid in unlimited quantities of ice cream :!:

at the beginning of summer, justin dale told me that delaying longer will make shred a little bit easier and will build my own style. that is by far the best footbag related advice i've ever received.

we were supposed to do a footbag demo yesterday morning for a gymnastics team but we all slept through it  so we kicked at the people's market instead. a photographer from a local liberal paper called the independent swung by and we are going to be in the alternative sports section of an upcoming issue. she laid in the middle of our circle and took shots facing up. She got some good pictures of my sillhouette (sp?) doing ducks with the sun behind me. when evan asked how she had heard about us, she said that we have been around forever and everyone just kind of knows about us 8O

yesterdays shred: footed alpine parkwalk>ps eggbeater, almost made it all the way through rubberman, hit ripwalkx4>whirl>ripwalk>rpt (i have to pretty much relearn stepping, i haven't done it much since i got injured), symple paste first attempt, zulu clipper x 2 first time ever, zulu clip>ps illusion>string, lots of flip fairy moves (its starting to feel better than my strong, way less consistent, but feels better) footed ducking pdx torque for the millionth frickin time but still haven't hit it solid :? everything else is in pretty much every other shred post.

got trashed and went to the fair last night trying to talk carnies into giving us free rides. there was one of those inflatable carnie posts that was 70%deflated and so I sprinted towards it and jumped as high as I could to land on it only there wasn't enough air. I landed on it and fell straight to the ground. now my hip hurts. this little posse of carnies walked up to me and started bitching at me. (the italics are the carnie speaking)
"you gonna pay for the damages you just caused?"
"What damages?"
"the damages you just caused"
"i didn't do anything"
"how do you know"
"Because I have good eye sight"
"HOW DO YOU KNOW?!"
"there's nothing wrong " and I extended my hand for a hand shake and he and his two buddies stormed off so I yelled "Cool! turn down my handshake, i don't want to touch carnies anyway!"
good thing they didn't see me sneak into the closed fun house

on our way out we got pulled over by johnny law and had to hide a bottle under the seat by holding it under with our feet because it kept rolling out. we were all underage and all pretty trashed. he took our ID's, asked us if we had been drinking (of course not) and everything was pretty chill. we ate peanuts and threw them out the window. what a bad idea that was. they probably thought we were tossing out drugs. a second cop came and investigated what we were throwing out and made us pick them up. if the guy in the passenger side wouldn't have picked them up, one of us in the back would have and the bottle would have rolled out :? the second cop made use pick up the shells even though they were biodegradable by threatening us with littering tickets. ARGHH! that's my second run in with johnny law in a week.

My buddy Nick and I sign our lease tomorrow afternoon. WHOO!

I got hit in the face with a folf disc last night. A group of friends were night folfing and I was chatting with Mike who goes back to Hawaii for school today. I handed him a going away cigar and all of a sudden I couldn't stand up straight and was falling backwards hearing yelling. It took me a while to figure out what the hell happened. It cut right between my eye and nose and I have a bump on my forehead. The fact that it bled is the only reason I don't have a black eye. My head still feels like it's in the clouds though :?

day after day...
this is the day after desperate

my room has filled with
day and night
and night and day
since then...

the moles on my penis remind me of skulls
and all the doctors who would quickly
cut them off and eat them
as they take down art in hotel hallways

probably to the tune of plain old heart failure on a rollaway

they hurt in the dull
at the hinge to both eyes
the no place of an ache
where you push and pull when trying to fall asleep

soon things kick in severly at the nape
of my patience
as the worm inside my spine contracts

Actually, I was sober up until that point because I hadn't had a drink all day. I think this is the first time I've been pulled over and when Mr. Piggy asked me if I'd had any booze and I said "no," I was actually telling the truth. Scary.

People's Market was DOPE! Kevin taught me symple legover and symple pickup the night before in a mini shred session in my house, so I practiced those for a while that day. Hit my first clean stepping set, hit smear after the billionth attempt for the first time, and to close out my shred at the end, I finally hit paste after trying all day. I think Saturday was the most progression of moves I've had in a long time.

On a side note, I just had an interview at Double Tree hotel next to campus for a housekeeping position and it looks like I'm going to get the job. I might have to cut or trim my hair, which will suck, but the lady that interviewed me said it might not be a problem if I can wear my bandana or a hat and put my hair up in the hat until I can tail it back. I'm supposed to have an interview at St. Patty's hospital on Thursday. Hopefully I can get a part-time job as well as a full-time at either Double Tree or St. Patty's.

Another sidenote, WHERE THE FUCK IS MY ROOMMATE!? I cleaned the hell out of my house and my roommate isn't back yet. Oh well, when he moves out I can finally move into my bedroom and get my chocolate lab or bring my cat to my house.

Kicked at OTL today with Mikey and Monty because everyone was a bunch of punk ass bitches and had other things to do. The shred wasn't bad, but wasn't good. I footed my first ripwalk today!!! 8O I was so stoked because I only hit my first clean stepping set on Saturday. I also hit my first toe zulu clipper today and hit smear and paste again, so I guess they weren't flukes. I also hit my first pixie ss pickup. The coolest new move I hit today was probably my first toe drifter because I've been trying for a month and a half and didn't hit it until now. After Mikey and Monty left, a bunch of Japanese foreign exchange students (most of them were hot chicks :P ) stopped and watched me kick for awhile with a bunch of "ooh's" and "aah's." I tried to teach them to kick to no prevail. Later on a big group of midgets..erm, little kids, stopped to watch me practice my clippers and mirages for awhile. Then some weird dude who was some kind of chaparone for a bunch of kids in purple shirts (I think they were some kind of group from Allstate or something like that) yelled at one little girl for supposedly stealing someone's balloon then told me to quit wasting my life with "that pointless game." I wanted to tell him to piss off, but I just ignored him and pretended I couldn't hear him. Jackass...

generation of deadbeats
the pedestrian

the pedestrian:
neither a protest song nor an endorsement.
generation of dead beats we headspin on the tombstone of ginsberg
enduring the banality of a sober burroughs for so long
as sole pours out a bottle of evian for the disembodied and gin for hemmingway.
we without impetus born through a trap door into this history,
the universe shrinks and our conception of it doesn't fit anymore.
an electric candle burns bedside in a remorseful elegy for elanor rigby
and her middle-aged daughters,
a wedding gypsy band bangs out a domestic lament on antique ukulele and petrified elk bones,
a flower on a guitar withers wantonly hippie anthems
entangled within broken strings and baez tunes
reliving those moments otherwise left alone
throughout these gutted crates and creative gutters.
woodstock burns as we windmill on the wasteland of eliot,
my windblown voiceprint on the ruins and verandahs
around imitation roman columns at the outpost of mediocre
where mid-level administration is making it the romanticized slacker
in all threadbare elegance questioning the eternal amid echoes like tendrils.
might i be the only one here in the roll call of minor set backs and major failures?
a dim yes faint no and a resonating maybe saluting the first flag visible
through the settling dust in the setting dusk embroidering my uniform of deathless song.
i whistle woman with the curviest of drums would be libertine
but my wounds are literate so i make slut of it all
with a skewed perspective and scurrilous adjectives.
it's like lysergic acid verses venomous incantations
over influenced of our tongues.
look at me growl mouthful of venison and perennial yawn,
when i wake up i may find it all gone.
my cheaply inked innocence is indeed wearing thin
and being holed up in a motel with a case of whiskey
and a typewriter is not a vision quest.

dose one:
oh and actors of slightest idea left stuffing in lockers
to make their walk home short and nightmares the kind of crap
their kids couldn't eat off tv with hook hands and poked holes for eyeballs.
nowhere to go by but the canary,
it's minimum wage in all out war or hide
and work played to the wheeze of a dead beat in autumn
of no man is island and everything has already been done once.

the pedestrian:
somebody get me a hero and i'll author a tragedy
yet murder in the theatre on an idle afternoon where duchamp
and death meet and don't create but do play chess in the park
until the curators and clerics recede to their quarters.
heritics in the paradise of fitzgerald
and in the alleys of 'frisco,
our recurrent tourist can only begin to think
picturesque of more distantly postcard.
once a cipher rat, now i'm looking for a publisher of dead beatitudes
and parables as absurd as the world we've woven for ourselves
out of worn down wonderment and wormwood,
rewriting the masterpieces word by word.
listen carefully, this song's an empty shell on the shore of the worthless ones,
my stab at simplifying beyond the hybrid of a smiling sambo and stony buster keaton.
phantoms in black face dance provocatively
around bundles of fanon's psycho colonial tomes,
oh it's as obvious as i get without hollering "fuck my father"
in double time freebasing placebos in a corporate experiment.
i've seen some of our most brilliant minds
corrupted by boredom and booze like sixtoo howls
but psyche shit stained and incoherent.
i'm a cycle myself still chasing the aesthetic
with a hellhound on my trail and a rent bill in his mouth.
maybe i'll just make a living out of question marks.
it's the recovering junkie poet slash alcoholic novelist part of us all,
any number of crossroads for yonder children of divorce and bankruptcy court,
hardly a great depression. we're all spoiled and mildy neurotic.
by day this middle finger is a white flag
signifying our apathetic middle-class course,
look at me roar, jaw jammed with raw flesh and perennial yawn.
when i wake up, i may find it all gone
wondering if the glass just half is in an empty world.
by now dylan's harmonica's museum bound soundtrack
to a bank commercial they'll bury you in the suburbs
with car keys and cell phones warmed over death in prefab dream homes
and bingo on sundays.
they'll forget you in the ghetto banging on your chest
to hear the gold rattle in your gums.
this pointlessness pulses through my dearth of faith,
pointless in an imperfect circle without center.
each of us hypocrite preachers without flocks,
every generation is lost and makes songs out of it
but ours exiled from the search.

dose one:
this is not a test.
it's an identity crisis demonstration
and we want our music television for being strip malled
or we're doing bored heterosexual in protest.
our fingers are crossed and hair cuts american.

Well, I just signed my W-4's for work and filled out all of the other jargon and, starting next Friday after I get back from a short trip to Havre, I'll be working at Double Tree! I get an employee discount off rooms (family stays for $35/night and friends $45/night...the hot chick that escorted me around told me that Double Tree is Missoula's premier hotel, so I guess that's pretty good), so when people come for MFJ 3 and they need a hotel, they can stay there (if you don't have a place to crash, that is). The best thing is I get free food at Finn and Porter! They make some dank ass food. Mmm...food...aaaaahhhhh... Sorry, I haven't had my morning tea or breakfast, yet, so I'm really hungry.

On a side note, my old landlord fucked me out of my deposit, so I'm going to leave a nasty note next to the doorway warning future tenants not to live there. The rooms are shitty, the bathroom gets broken at least once a week, and the place smells funny...wait, maybe that's just Pete's room wafting down the hall.

One thing that steams my clams about working at DT is I have to wear a hat until I can tail my hair back...why can't I just wear my damn bandana? Oh well, it should only be another month until I can tail it back, so I don't have to worry about that too much. I'm really hungy, so I'm going to get my money from my bastard landlord and go get me some China Buffett..erm, buffet.

ahhhh, i hate how much footbag game can fluctuate (sp?) I couldn't even play to a fifth of what I have been the last few weeks. Maybe two strings over ten contacts :? ahhhhh, right when I started getting strings in the mid-high twenty contact range. one of those two decent strings was thirty butters. whooo thirty butters  they should be cake, easily sixty to eighty. my stepping is starting to come back, that was probably the only positive thing about the entire session. I was thinking the other day, if you took sets out of my game, i'd have virtually nothing. i'd have 2's, bops, ducks, one sided double overs, and torques. i need more downtime elements ASAP!!

Evan hit tons of fives, i saw him hit phoenix(only seen him hit it once before), mobius, pdx torque bsos, blurry torque :!: his game is skyrocketing now. 8O

this may or may not help... but try practicing some of your tricks off of throwsets... toss the bag in the air at the right time and try a drifter or a whirl, that'll help your downtiming. if you get hurt, stop, and forget i ever said this (men in black pen click) hehe

school starts in six days :?

kicked yesterday with seth. For some reason, my string length is plummeting. ahhhhhhh! it turned into an endurance session for the most part. tried more downtime components. hit sailing opp butter, blender bs, pdx blender bs, almost spinning blender, "double ducking" butter, pdx drifter (footed flip but not sealed), grifter, my dlo's are either on one day or way off the next. because my string length is dying, i just did a lot of tilts. my only long string legover>mirage>rpt for probably around 50 contacts>pickup>illusion>rpt>12 contact string with bsos duck clips, bsos ripwalks, bops.

the girl that lives on the main floor above me and my roomate is ridiculously cute! I was taking out the trash and she and a friend offered me to shotgun beers with them. I did and then brought them over and introduced them to the coach  I'm gonna try to coerce her into a joint house warming party on friday.

Well, I'm off to Havre for a day to see if I can convince my parents to help pay me the money back that's owed to me so I can get a fucking house. I hope to do some shredding tomorrow.
