HDV footage

Hello,

This is for all the tech freaks out there. I haven't seen any footbag-related HDV footage around, so here's some.

I recently got a chance to test Sony's new HDV camera. Unfortunately, my current editing software can't handle HDV, but I managed to capture and re-encode a few test clips. Those clips can be found at:

These clips are all about the quality, not the shred. They were shot on 1440 x 1080 resolution at 30 fps. The only way I managed to re-encode them was mpeg-1 with bitrate 8000kb/s, which should be enough to preserve the quality somewhat original.

Wow! Man that quality is amazing! It would look so awesome if you filmed out in the sun too though!
Great stuff man! I would definatly download footage from a camera like that, especially if it was well edited and stuff too! man that is friggen brilliant!

cool quality but i have computer too slow for thos videos because they don't run fluently... i have athlon 2000mhz 256mb ram and 9200se

From what i saw it was good. But it was kinda choppy because my computer is to slow

Thank you all for such nice feedback.

Many people seems to have some problems playing those clips. HDV needs quite powerful processor to run smoothly, some 1.8 Ghz should be enough. Also, mpeg codec that can't handle HDV might be reason for choppiness(?).

The camera i used was Sony HVR-Z1E. It costs about 5000(+VAT) euros if anyone's interested to buy one

I still have some HDV-material on tape, but since I don't have the camera, I can't get the footage to my computer. My old Canon MiniDV camera goes nuts if I try to play HDV on it.
