Some Dat wisdom:

"i made this cool observation
about how to position myself
i noticed i pull my chin towards my right shoulder
for both clippers
which is bad
so
for my flip clipper
i'm focussing on pulling my chin towards my left shoulder
and it feels more comfortable and it's easier to balance"

Dat hit a phat eggbeater first try in the 4 square tournament in Freestyle reality. I still have trouble with that move!

I just came inside from a session with Dat. We're about to watch the SF 49ers destroy the St Louis Rams. About the session: I challenged Dat to hit a bunch of stuff and he hit most of it. he was taking it easy b/c his knee was hurting, but he still managed to hit his first toe set torques, both sides, and on his strong side, butterfly> pdx mirage> toe torque. I was super proud of his but he was like, smiling, whatever. Then I challenged him to hit a 20 contact run, but he never quite got there. He did manage to get 14 though, and right at the end too, when he was most tired. So, he should be proud of that. Thanks for reading the phanzine.

Today Dat played at Stanford today. He hit "a few blurs and ripwalks and a rare flip swirl."

Play Dat, play.

This weekend, Dat MAY get off his deas arse and make the commute to Santa Cruz for a day/weekend of footbag fun. It might take some convincing though.

Dat played in Santa Cruz on Sunday. It was nice to see him.

Dat went to Stanford on Tueday. He might not ever go back to lavers because G-Units feel much easier to play in. He hit paradox mirage our of torque and a really good flip side eggbeater. His eggbeaters are feeling better in general now.

Dat has been more balanced recently too, which has led to his learning how to spin on his flip side, even though he can't spin on his strong side. I hope to kick with you soon Dat!

Im sure he wont post in his footblog, so Ill say what Dat hit in a session with me today, here:
stepping butt bsos
flip bubbabeater 2x nice and clean
dbl switchover (bs i believe)
ducking clip>ducking clip
some good whirls on both sides (getting better each session)
and his first BARFLY!!!! (sweet)

Of note, Dat hit his 2nd flip bubbabeater while contemplating the best way to make fun of Emily so he forgot to seal the trick and caught it instead. Dat needs to skool more and he will start to see his game improve!

I'm generally not happy with this event. There was no peaceful place for footbaggers to hang out and kick after hours (the best part of tournaments). Mike hardly got to play any footbag.

For the record Mike did the bulk of the work for counting shred 30. I was more just Mike's assistant. Nick Landes did a fair amount of the work too.

Hey, you even spelled my name right! YAY! I <3 you dat, I had so much fun hanging out with you and Lois on monday, even tough there is nothing to do in my neck of the woods. Anway, you were the best assistant ever, and tell mike (if he ever reads this) that he did so great with those shred 30 scores, Red and I appreciated all the help from you guys. Anway. hope to see you soon!
