Morrowind - Best RPG?

I just started playing this game while babysitting my cousin, and I have got to say

OH. MY. GOD.

I am completely hooked. This game is by far the best RPG I have ever played, it allows you to do WHATEVER you want WHENEVER you want, choose WHOEVER you want to be and decide YOUR OWN course of action to complete side quests. I'm not used to such freedom but already I am spellbound by the epicness of what the game has to offer.

I *desperately* would like to get this game for my pc, the only problem is that if I do, footbag would have to sit in the passenger seat for a few days or weeks because I know that I won't budge off the chair.

Here is my newb character that I have been playing

Dark Elf
The Mage
Willpower + Intelligence

Major
- Destruction
- Shortsword
- Light Armor
- Athletics
- Alchemy

Minor
- Mysticism
- Alteration
- Conjuration
- Marksman
- Restoration

I guess the whole reason why I made this topic is because I want to hear what you guys think of this game. If you've played it, POST!

I've played it several times and I'll admit that it's one of the few things that almost make me wish I used a PC (that and the rest of the Elder Scrolls series! Daggerfall whaaat!!!).

Yeah, Oblivion is coming out on PC and Xbox 360 on (I think) November 11th or something. That's literally the only game I'm looking forward to. Morrowing is the best RPG I have ever played. The first time through I was a dark-elf thief, and I just killed anyone that bugged me >8} I started the game again early this summer and didn't have the time to get through it all, but I was a Breton warrior, so essentially a large black man that swings a sword around. It was awesome cause I could say stuff like, "what you talkin' bout willis?" as I chopped people to pieces. >8D For anyone that has a PC or xbox, you definately need to check this game out-- one of the best games out there.

And Byrin, if you haven't already tried it, you might like the Baldur's Gate series. It's sorta like Diablo, but there is a lot more freedom. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn took me like 300 hours to complete-- there is just so much you can do.

yup i was on that game addictivly an religusly for about 4 months. then got the expantion an that was another 2 months. its a long ass game. id sudjest geting the book bc there is so many things u can do that u dont even have to an the book will reallly help peace that together. turst me it dont feel cheap.

Speaking of books-- DO NOT JUST OPEN AND CLOSE THEM TO GET THE SKILL UPGRADES!!! I did that the first time I played and holy shit did I miss out. There is at least 20 hours of reading (no joke) in that game and a lot of it is good. I don't really enjoy the nonfiction, for the most part, but almost every fiction book in the game is awesome. Off hand I can remember that and "The Real Barenziah" series, "Chance's Folly", and "A Surfeit of Theives" are all great reads. They are just as amazing as the game itself, and really add another dimension to it, in my opinion.

Yeah some excellent reading, some fun gameplay and tons of stuff to screw around with.....word is the game can be beaten in 14 minutes....go for the gold!

I played this a little but got bored of it. Too much wandering around with nothing happening. I appreciate that it's a big world though. I hear that Oblivion will be more interesting.

this games great. but thats why u need the book so you dont just wonder around endlessly, but even with the book ya can get lost.

i played it a little but i have troubles staying interested in one game at one time, i did really enjoy the moments i had in a short period and time with the game

i will keep my eye on the next instalment because i do plan on buying an xbox 360

and i get my first hd tv next week

so i want some beautifull games to play on it

I played both, comparing morrowind to wow is like comparing a well aged scotch to a nice cold sleeman

morrowind is so rich and detailed and single playerered like a well aged scotch whereas sleeman is good but still mass produced and doesnt have the same soul, and you can party drink it and chug it down hardcore too.

I've never played Morrowind but from what you guys are saying, it sounds like a great game! But recently, I started playing Neverwinter Nights and holy schnikes!!! That game is soo awesome and addicting!

I'm really liking NWN and can't wait until the second one comes out!

Yeah, NWN is really cool, and the fact that it's all free is one of the greatest aspects of it. It just takes a bit too much time to fit into my schedule.
